It's been almost a year since someone has written about QZar; let me come to tell you that those same group of boys that Drew speaks of are still there! I went this past Saturday with a group of friends for my friend's 23rd birthday (gosh, we're getting old). I was so excited because I haven't played Laser Tag since high school and I thought it would be big fun to relinquish my younger years :)
QZar is the typical "fun center." There's air hockey, video games and all other types of fun machines in addition to Laser Tag. I can tell some of those kids are there every single weekend. Due to the fact that people in our party didn't know how to show up on time, we only had time for one game. We originally wanted to do the unlimited games from 8p-12a for $17.00 each, but they were sold out. How unlimited is sold out is an oxymoron to me, but okay (No I'm kidding, they explained and I fully understood :)
Our game was great! The Laser Tag area was full of twists, turns and people ready to shoot! I had a fun time. I would recommend QZar to anyone who can stand rowdy pre-teens and teenagers running all over the place, whipping your tail :)

So I had this idea for my 30th birthday...parties for that and subsequent birthdays should be themed as if you divide my age by 2. Hence, I had a laser tag birthday party at QZAR for my "15th" birthday.
If you've never played organized laser tag inside a dimly lit, loud maze filled with fake smoke...well then you have no idea what QZAR even resembles. It's chaotic, loud, and surprisingly very active. You would think it's just moving around and aiming a toy gun at people. Actually, that's exactly what it is. But you move around a lot, and after fifteen minutes of play you are hot, sweaty, and tired. It's a real workout.
There's an arcade, games, horrible concession booth pizza...it's just like being back in middle school without my mom having to drive me there. There was a large group of high school boys there who apparently play as a team every Friday night. They took it way too seriously and were typical rude high school boys. We put them in their place fairly quickly though...when we drove away without waiting for our parents to come get us. Suckers!
Good times, even with the high school punks in the way. I probably won't do my sweet sixteen birthday there next time, especially since I'll be old enough to drive. Again.
