Chef J, what a delightful little Chinese restaurant and it's tucked away right here in our neighborhood. Their soups are so rich and flavorful and are seasoned perfectly - not too salty, and with good flavor that isn't covered up by excessive spices, just how I like it.
I'm a regular for a reason, especially on the winter days.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ismael I.Fountain Hills, AZ02247Jan 13, 2024
Food was pretty good. Our waitress was attentive. You probably thinking why one star. The bathroom it's disgusting ( man's) the smell and filth it's unbelievable. I don't know how they pass inspections.
I will not go back. I wander how the kitchen is.....!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Herp D.Scottsdale, AZ246171Nov 18, 2023
Got the spicy eggplant which was not spicy. The skin was too tough to even cut through while the insides of the eggplant were mushy. The sauce was good. The rice looked old.
We got the pan seared pork buns, shrimp dumpling and soup dumpling. All were only okay and had a bad after taste.
Service was good. Bathrooms were disgusting. Good ambiance in dining area.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 12, 2024
Authentic Chinese family owned restaurant. Chef J and his staff were warm and friendly his menu features classic Asian Cuisine and Dim Sum. We tried a couple of lunch specials, and my wife had shrimp and vegetables while I enjoyed Chef J's special chicken. Everything was delicious with fresh ingredients. They had very tasty egg drop soup, and lunch specials are served till 3 pm. It is located in the McCormack Ranch area on Via Linda please support them.

Saw this place served dim sum with decent reviews, so I figured I needed to try it out. To my surprise, the food was actually decent. We ordered lunch specials and a few dim sum plates. The lunch specials were tasty and plentiful. The dim sum, on the other hand, was disappointing. It's great that it's made fresh in-house, but what you get for the price is a rip-off. 4 pieces of their Shu mai dumplings were $7. The entire bag at Walmart is $7.
The service was also lacking. We are waiting at the front desk where a host/hostess usually is waiting for customers... however, no one was there. The restaurant wouldn't have known there were people waiting if someone hadn't been walking in to the dining area... it's a bit separated from the entrance.
Overall, the ambiance was alright. Confusing set up, but you'll know you're at an Asian restaurant the moment you step inside.
Overall, food is good. In terms of pricing... some items need to be reevaluated.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 51410724019Dec 2, 2023
First time eating dim sum in Scottsdale. They don't bring the cart around but you order off the menu. They provide all the classic dishes so you won't be disappointed. Nice to have something in Scottsdale.

The food was great! I was hesitant after reading the not so good reviews but decided on trying the food anyways and was not disappointed! The steamed pork buns were moist, had some kind of flavorful sauce to it. The siomai was very tasty and was the favorite. I had the wonton soup and it was full of veggies and 4 pieces of wonton with bbq strips! So good. We had the beef soup dim sum and the lotus leaf sticky rice. Both delicious! The sesame balls were small and I liked the size, easier to bite into. We had lo mein to finish our dim sum and it was loaded with chicken! All in all, highly recommended. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews!

Tried to order online and had real problems navigating the menu. When I finally figured it out you had added a service charge, a delivery fee and a 15% tip before I even had the food delivered.
That's when I checked out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 26, 2024
I've seen this place on several occasions while in the area for bowling. I looked them up in Yelp and saw that they offered a limited menu for dim sum, so I decided to check it out. Upon entering, you aren't greeted by a person. In fact, you are greeted with a strong smell of bad plumbing emitting from the restrooms. After standing in the lobby area for about 5-7 minutes, i decided to step in towards the dining area, where I was finally greeted by a waitress and it was clear she was the only person working the front of the house. I was then immediately sat at a table and offered a drink along with menus. I chose to try several items from their dim sum/appetizer menu: Xiao Long bao, scallion pancake, soy sauce noodles & pork buns. She immediately brought my iced tea and some won ton chips with a sweet & sour sauce. The Xia long bao were not served with any sauce but they were ok. The scallion pancake was over cooked and very dry. The soy sauce noodles were over seasoned with salt. The pork buns were ok, but very little meat; probably less than an ounce of it. The dining area was clean and the waitress was friendly and brought out the food fairly quickly. I just couldn't recommend this place based on the items I had.

We actually ordered on Door Dash for the first time and crossed our fingers. WOW some of the best Chinese to go, BBQ pork bun was amazing perfect texture and taste. General Tso's chicken was flavorful, crab puffs and the best egg roll I think I've ever had-- the wrapper wasn't too thick.
Can't wait to try more dim sum in the restaurant!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
