I suppose this is a must go to while in Boston.  It's been described as a Chicago festival with concessions lined right next to each other.  It's pricier as the portions are bigger, but they do have plenty of options.  It's a food lover's paradise, and I could have packed my sleeping bag and just stayed there all day.  I had some bacon wrapped scallops on a stick and fries, and I think the combination was too salty for me.   There are quite a bit of tourists here as I ran into plenty of people askking me for directions to hear as I was looking for directions, too.

Quincy Market may have whatever you're looking for but I'd rather go somewhere less touristy. Trying to get through that place is useless. People just stop right in front of you to read signs and there's no way to get around them b/c 500 people are pushing through the other way... No Thanks! The food at most of the places is good but way overpriced with small portions.

As said a few times below I don't hate it but I'd just rather go somewhere else. I do however work IN Faneuil Hall so I occasionally have to suck it up and grab something quick there and with all the options I can always find something I want.

According to my father, Quincy Market is heaven on earth. Undoubtedly his favorite eating establishment on the planet, the entire fam is forced to go there for at least one meal over the weekend he comes to visit, walking down the long hallway with him as he licks his chops, flashes his beady eyes from stand to stand, and gains 8 lbs minimum.

Don't get me wrong, the four stars means I love Quincy Market too, but sometimes a lady just wants to get taken to Chez Henri or somewhere that better suits her personality than a collection of fast food places where you usually have to stand, equine-like, to eat your fish 'n chips. The horror!

The declasse bit (and I mean bit) of me just loves this aspect though. I love starting with the peel and eat shrimp, which is actually quite good for being peel and eat shrimp. The roast beef sandwiches are to die for (though I've only had small bites of my brother's as I would scarcely be caught dead ordering/consuming by own beefy monstrosity). Don't bother with most of the asian food, it's just your average mall slop, in my opinion. Pizzeria Regina is always doughy delicious. The stand that advertises "best" french fries, or something rather, really does have great potato skin fries, and you can slather vinegar all over them.

All in all, it's a fabulous experience all around and you can leave IMMENSELY satiated and probably just IMMENSE in general. Fun, fun, fun whether you're a tourist or a Boston resident!

P.S - Once I had fried clams and they were very good too!!!!!!!!

Quincy Market is a touristy food court with chains and local eateries. Chains do not necessarily equate to bad like Starbucks, there are some treasures there - say, Beard Papas and their creampuffs... yum! Most of the stands accept credit cards, and some do not.

This place is a madhouse, packed full of people ordering and eating (don't forget to have someone guard your chair in the seating area if you walk away for a moment!). Admittedly, Quincy is convenient if you have a party of people who want different cuisines. Recommended for a visit, not necessarily for a stay.

Okay I'm gonna play tourist for a moment. I've been to Quincy Market maybe 5 times. Every time it's fun. Great people watching outside. Sit on the bench with my overpriced snack. The last time I was there doing the family trip thing. Everybody got to eat what they wanted. One wanted "chowdahh", another pizza, another cream puffs, etal. I had potato dosa with  cilantro/coconut chutney and enjoyed it. It was actually really good minus the oily sambah. So then off we went to Fanuiel Hall for a brief history lesson from the UPS oops I meant NPS. Was cool one of the statues at the FH is an ancestor of DH. Way cool. The niece and nephew were impressed. Their uncle had a famous ancestor.

There are some "fun" stores outside of Quincy Market. Nothing to buy but fun to browse.

This is a good starting point for the Freedom Trail. That is if you have any energy left after making it through QM on a summer weekend.

Alright I'm giving it 5 stars for the historital part , 5 stars for variety of food some of it quite good, 5 stars because it's so fun!

I love faneuil Hall..  the history, bright lights, touristy things, stores, bars all make up the fun of this area.

I like it best for the history and the occasional street performer..

I come here almost every weekend to try new places and new tastes

Slop, they might as well puree all of the food options, pour them into a trough and have us pay by the minute. I detest this place for its low quality overpriced food, nothing worth mentioning, nothing I would ever order again and nothing I could stomach.
Yeah, there are options, but so what? You might as well ask me to pick between mcdonalds and burger king, you're damned no matter what you choose "hmm, should I get a grease dripping cardiac arrest inducing corn dog? Or maybe some sushi caught fresh last year? Decisions decisions..."
For gods sake, take the five minutes to walk to the North End and get something worth eating.

Sometimes when I'm in Quincy Market I like to close my eyes and think of our founding fathers....then I'm overcome by the smell of the El Paso Enchiladas.

It's a gigantic food court.  One that is full of people that don't move to the right to walk, just stop dead in their tracks or are meandering around trying to figure out what they want.  Its almost always packed and seating is scarce.  There are a lot of great eateries in Boston, especially if you are downtown, skip this food court and go to one of them.

I will say though, that the first time you are standing in line behind Samuel Adams or Ben Franklin it is pretty cool.

I guess my question for you is this....Are you from Greater Boston? No? Then yes I'm sure you love Quincy Market.  If you are, then this is little more than an overpriced food court housed in a historic building, that your elementary school teachers dragged you too every yr for your annual trip into the city.

This is the kind of place I'll meet for a date bc it's easy to find each other etc, and there are ample places to go for a drink dinner etc. Or if I just didn't have time to eat dinner and I'm meeting people out at the bars I'll grab a quick bite.  Otherwise I find it to be over flowing with tourists and kind of hokee

this is where fat people come to get fatter, and those who aren't fat may realize their dream to be.

we came here to scoop up a cream puff at beard papas, but along the way i grabbed me some scallops wrapped in bacon on a stick. and fries.

i'd avoid this place if i lived in boston, reminds me of the ferry building in sf, but with 10x more fatty foods.

Good shopping, and GREAT DESSERTS. Do you like cream puffs? Oh my goodness, just walk through the market and test everything out. Bring an appetite.

If you're a tourist to Boston, this is a must-see.

This is a place for tourists.  I can't see why anyone who actually lives in Boston would want to go..  If you're just visiting though, it's cool to look at the stalls and stuff.

This is the best food court I've ever seen.  The only big chain I can remember is Starbucks.  The rest of it is an eclectic mix of Boston born and foreign foods.  The center rotunda is well renovated and a great place to take a break and eat.  On the whole the food seems a little expensive though.

We went there today for a quick bite and were swept into throngs of leaf peepers wearing name tags on a stop along their New England bus tours.  It's kind of a cross between a mall food court and an historical monument.  Prices are high, lines (even in the bathroom) are long.  We tried bubble tea (awful) and a cheese-drenched "Boston barker" hot dog. Bad combo, my friends. I hope the leaf peepers fared better at least they have the excuse of being tourists.

Quincy Market has its charm.  Sure it has its high-end stores, the Cheers bar & grill, and plenty of tourists, still it's a fun place to just grab some ice cream and sit on the benches.  It's always busy so be prepared for a wait!

This place has one thing going for it and three against.

For: there's probably close to 50 food stalls in here. There should be something to keep everyone happy.

Against: it's ridiculously crowded, it's pricey, and none of the food exactly shines in terms of quality.

Verdict: during the tourist season, shun this place like you would a bazooka-wielding chimpanzee on crack . The rest of the year it makes a decent option if no-one in your group can agree on what they want.

A place for mid-day sightseeing to stop and grab a bite to eat. Nothing is particularly unique or of substantial quality in Faneuil Hall, but it's neat to walk through and view the options, tasting here and there. Outside its doors are some of the more unusually entertaining street performers I've seen, and in the immediate area are some generic shops and touristy things.

If variety is the spice of life, then Quincy Market is the season shaker.  If you can eat it for lunch, you can find it here.  It costs a little more than you think it should, but its great for a touristy treat.

oh me oh my!!!  this was heaven!  if i were to stay in boston for a week, this would be the reason why!  there was soooo much food and everything looked so fresh and delicious!  you just want to try eveyrthing in sight!!  i was glad to get a bowl of fruit for $1.50 because it usually costs me about $3-4 in nyc!  the lobster roll was soo good, but the bread was a little overwhelming for my liking...i wish there was a quincy market in nyc....ugh...

For a little pricey price , you can sample some of  Boston's best food.. They have every time of food you could think of and I have never had anything I didn't like. Theres also a lot of little cute stands to get Boston trinqets, sweatshirts, jewelry, etc. Gets crowded in the summer, so recommend stopping by there in the fall or spring. I have heard it has more visitors than Disney World. If thats true , its gotta be good!

If you're hungry for something new (and have the cash to spend), this is the place to go. Dozens of food places makes choosing just one hard. Finding a clean place to sit is a challenge, especially during the summer, so head outside and munch while you watch someone juggle or stand on a pole.
