I just got back from Idyllwild after a blissful stay at the Quiet Creek Inn. After 3 days of reading in an Adirondack chair down by gurgling Strawberry Creek, I'm ready to go right back up! And the new owners have done such a nice job with this place. I'm sensitive to decor, and I wanted all the paintings, bed spread, cups, plates, clock, ceiling fan... what good taste! Can't wait to go back up in cooler weather and get that cracklin' stone fireplace going.
This is a perfect, off the beaten path place to stay to hang out for a couple of days without even having to go into town for meals if you don't want to. I stocked my little fridge from the local market and nibbled "at home." I had fresh coffee on my private little deck, and then took my book, fruit, and cereal down to the creek for breakfast. Then later in the day, I'd go into town for a Date Shake and take that back down to the creek with my book.  You get the picture. Just call 'em up, book a couple of quiet nights, and GO!
OH! And say hello to "JAKE," the nicest kitty in Idyllwild who will check you in at the front desk.

Deserves all the stars it receives!!! I would live here if not for it being a little bit pricey for my budget. We arrived in the afternoon and had a packet with room info, keys, and town points of interest waiting. The room was a studio, I believe and it came equip with ceiling fan, high ceiling, fireplace (I wasn't crazy about the duralog rule, I love real wood but also don't like to pollute so I get it), private patio overlooking the creek, tv with both VHS and DVD player, great heater, bathroom heater, small fridge, wine glasses, microwave, dishes, soap, coffee maker, tea, I could go on and on I feel like they thought of everything that people like in a quiet cabin. The guest lounge also has popcorn, sodas and water (bottles and cans are $1 donation same as the store so get it there they are not trying to rip you off), at least 100 dvds and hundreds of video tapes to borrow for the room on an honor system. I noticed in our player a person had left a cd by accident so when we left I just put it on the table, they actually knew what car we drove and where we stayed and left the cd on the roof of our car about 4 hrs after we checked out as we returned from a day of bouldering just up the block. We really had our privacy respected, I mean we literally didn't speak to anyone from the staff the whole time we were there but felt so taken care of in regards to service. We will be back for sure!!!!

This is a wonderful inn in a storybook town near Palm Springs.  It's a little out of the way, but well worth it for quiet, relaxation, and peace.  There are like six  cabins, some with spas, next to a gurgling creek.  There is a wood burning fireplace with fresh logs in the storage bin on the terrace, which overlooks the creek.  The cabins are clean, well-maintained, and updated.  On a bright fall morning, there is nothing like the burning logs crackling, wrapping a throw,  sipping hot coffee on the patio listening to the creek amidst the glinting light glancing off tall trees, taking in the crisp fresh air!  This place was a find last year, but apparently many others thought so too and rental fees have jumped a bit and reservations are harder to come by, but it is still a terrific place.

History

Established in 1988

Quiet Creek Inn was a horse ranch in it's former life.  The barn is now our guest lounge.  The inn was built by a former owner in the late 80s and has been one of the premier lodging establishments in Idyllwild ever since.

Meet the Business Owner: Jim N.

My background is in real estate sales management and vacation rental management in the Southern California beach comunities of Del Mar and Solana Beach.  My partner and I were at a stage of life where we wanted to be our own boss in a business that would utilize our resort area managment experience.  We bought the inn, added on vacation rental cabins and have never looked back.  We love living in Idyllwild!
