Professional and courteous. The fare includes all fees and gratuity so there are no hidden "surprises" when you're hit with the bill.
Sure it's more expensive than hailing a cab to the airport, but the service can't be beat, and you don't end up smelling like someone's dirty ashtray.
After having my fiance bitch about listening to how much i LOVE New York because they are better at this and better at that, I have to say, I have found something that New York can't touch....... Quicksilver Towncar service.
This company has been an instant hit for us because none of us want to lose our parking spots in our neighborhood. Call the car service to pick the person up from the airport or drop them off. It's perfect. They are on time, attentive, the NICEST/CLEANEST cars you will ever see and complimentary water bottles for your journey.
Everything is paid up front, including a 20% tip so you aren't scrambling for cash at the end of your journey. They even have luxury Priuses!
The owner called and remedied the situation. The owner was sincere about the mistake and more importantly fixed the problem so it wouldn't happen in the future.

I told my brother i would pick up his wife from the airport. That would have worked if i had not left my car at work the day before.
So I called these guys and they took care of it for me. My sister in law said they did a real good job. Customer service was spot on over the phone also.
I will use them from now on if i ever need this service.
Oct 2009-Our flight was due to come in near midnight, but came in about 15 min early. Our driver was already waiting for us at baggage claim with our name on a sign. We went briskly to the car, and a beautiful car it was. Immaculate. The driver was the utmost professional. He even waited with us when our son did not get to the door in a timely manner and left only when he opened the door-about 10 minutes. I wouldn't even consider using anyone other than Quicksilver. Its worth every dime.

Easy to set up, lady on the phone was helpful and delightful, answered all my questions.
Called to verify a pick up today and the gentleman on the phone (Chris I believe) was also incredibly helpful, offered to call me back with a "no problem at all, happy to help, attitude".
Very impressive, obviously would use again.
I LOVE these guys. I was dealing with Phil and Ken (I think) who were able to totally accomodate my belligerent drunk party at the last minute.
I just wanted to drop another note of how appreciate I am of your valuable service, and how you guys totally pulled through New Years Eve.
Gilbert was my driver earlier tonight, professional as always. David was my driver for later in the night, also very professional.
I love them all.

In a world of surly fly-by-night operators, Quicksilver stands head and shoulders above the rest. Case in point: I reserved a car for a client coming in from France to SFO. It turns out she had provided me with incorrect flight information, which I had pased on to Quicksilver. Instead of calling me to tell me they didn't find her, they called to tell me they had researched the issue and found the proper flight and terminal. Great customer service is what it's all about with limo services, and these guys have it by the pound. Thanks, Quicksilver!

I called Quicksilver at about midnight to schedule a ride to the airport, but the person who took my call said that she wasn't booking until they open at 4 the next day. I said "thanks for your help", and then she gave me this bitchy "uh-huh" reply.
I've definitely experienced better service than this.
Not for me a limousine service or stretch limo, I needed something conservative, but with enough room for my equipment and golf clubs. Enter Quicksilver TownCar with a beautiful, black SUV, plenty of room for all my stuff in back, including the golf clubs. The driver even took a lovely green freeway to Sand Hill Drive from downtown San Francisco. No driving through a shopping center this time.
Great service, friendly driver, and their confirmation process removed worry about pick-up and golf clubs. The woman on the phone said something like, "All our cars except the Prius are golf club friendly." 5 stars.
Excellent service. They were there about 30 minutes early, saw them outside, but told them we were not quite ready, it was fine, he happily waited until our scheduled pickup time.
We took 4 people from Potrero Hill to Fisherman's Warf area at around 6pm on a Thursday and it cost $52 dollars. Pre-paid with credit card, we were dropped off and didn't have to do any paper work. They really do mean that gratuity is included, no extra tip was expected at drop off. The car was super-clean and nice.. basically a small limo.
Arriving in a town car is sweet. All the tourists were looking at us expecting to see a celebrity. Town cars are much cooler than limos... :)
I just had to add something to this page... So I was looking for a town car service in the city. And I was quite hesitant, I had a really bad experience before (with a different company), and it cost me.
So I called them at 6am in the morning, to arrange for charter service for tomorrow evening. To my surprise, I was able to get ahold of someone right away. And made my reservation over the phone... Painless process took less then 5 mins.
And then when I called back with another question and to change my reservation a bit. The operator knew my name!!! Before I even mentioned it, and made sure I understood the extra cost clearly...
We'll see how they do tomorrow...., but so far I'm extremely impressed.
So... The excellent service followed through... The day of, quicksilver called me about 15 mins before my scheduled pick up time, and told me my driver was waiting. I was the utmost shocked, from my passed experiences I've had to sometimes wait quite a while.
The driver....pardon my forgetting his name was very nice.... He open the door for me on arrival, said good evening to me as I entered the car. But then assumed his rightful position as driver and let me be. Which I did appreciate since I wasn't in the mood for chit-chat.
He later dropped my date and myself at the restaurant, and thanked me for my time. After dinner I also arranged for them to pick me up, and my driver knew that it might have ended before my anticipated time, so he arrived 30 mins before my dinner ended. Since he was the same driver he recognized me and asked if I was ready, I told him I wasn't and that it was going to be about 30 mins more.
So after dinner, which ended up being about an hour later. The driver was still waiting outside for me. I felt really bad having him wait for such a long time, in which I apologized. He laughed and said, "no need to worry... I was just enjoying my book and I hope you both had a very nice dinner." And that made me very happy :).
He then drove us to our final destination, which after he dropped us of, thanked me again, and just had me sign a piece of paper. And that was it! So flawless and so professional.
Thank you again Quicksilver, you have exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this service. I do plan to create a personal account with them, and I would love to do business with them again.
I needed transport to and from the hospital for an outpatient procedure and didn't want the stress and hassle of a cab (who knows when they come, IF they come, you need cash, it's a bumpy and usually grumpy ride).
I turned to Yelp, found Quicksilver and was impressed. I even recommended them to my doctor's office as an option for other patients.
BOOKING: easy, professional, email confirmation
RATES: reasonable though 3x more than a cab, but 10x better for your psyche. Rates include all taxes, fees, gratuity - so you don't need cash on hand for a tip and need not do anything but show up.
CAR: new towncar, very very clean, tinted back windows
DRIVER: courteous, clean, professional, focussed (not chatting loudly on his cell), takes a cue from you (to be chatty or quiet)
PUNCTUALITY: exactly on time (they were actually waiting for me at our pickup/dropoff time)
Being fed up of local cab companies here in the city, dirty, rude, LOST, I decided to turn to Yelp! and help me find a towncar service for trips about town and to / from the airport.
Quicksilver's service, on time punctuality for both dropping me off at the airport and picking me up from my returning flights was bliss. I even made a change upon my arrival due to luggage being checked and they modified their pick plan real-time. It was awesome!
I highly recommend Quicksilver... no more scuffed up Prada's for moi!
while i commend quicksilver for their outstanding reviews, please remember that this is a limo service, not a taxi service. different city ordinances apply to them.
I highly recommend their service. I loved the idea of clean leather seats in a very comfortable vehicle. They are very punctual and reliable.

Had to go to the airport to catch a flight to China and wanted to get there a little bit early so that I could have a chance to snag one of the 5 upgrades to Business Class on UA. If you have ever flown coach (or cattle) class for international travel on United, you know why. Since I don't want to wake my friends for a Saturday 8:30am airport run, I decided to search for a car service. I didn't want to worry with yellow cab, due to the numerous yelp reports of people making reservations and the cab not showing up.
Called Quicksilver on Friday and they took down all my information. Secured the appointment with my credit card and got a confirmation in my email box 5 minutes after.
The driver, Steven or Stephen, and his car showed up 5 minutes early and was waiting for me to come down to the front door. I love punctuality. The lincoln town car was somewhat new according to Steve. Bottled water was located in the seat pocket in front of me but I didn't take it. The drive was nice and smooth and luxurious. Which can't be said about my 13 hour flight to Beijing in Economy.

I needed to be picked up at quarter to 5 am for a red-eye. I got downstairs early to make sure i would not miss them. I had their number in hand, ready to call and remind them I can NOT miss this flight.
imagine my surprise when they were there 10 minutes early - waiting for me!!!! (I felt so special).
OK, it's a little pricey, but the driver was nice, professional and it so beats a cab. I highly recommend.
I used Quicksilver for the first time, to pick me up at Oakland Airport and bring me back home to S.F. after a very late-arriving flight. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes once I'd called to let them know I had picked up my bag. Their website very specifically itemizes services and rates and the driver was courteous and friendly.
I have not used a car service in San Francisco, but I have done so frequently in other cities and Quicksilver's service is comparable.
After fifteen years in New York I moved back to my home in the bay last month. When I made it to SFO, after a long delayed flight, the Town Car Service I had ordered (Dav El) failed to have my booking. I scrambled on my iphone to google a local service and Quicksilver popped up. I gave them a call and although they said it is not generally easy to get a car to the airport at a moments notice they somehow managed to get one there fairly quick. I sat down and relaxed with the paper and before I knew it I was getting a call from David? who informed me my car was pulling up. I looked up and there it was. Since then I have used them twice more under much more relaxed circumstances. Great drivers, clean cars and excellent all around service.
