Walk in here in the after school hours, and expect flames of orange hair running away from the tops of their heads.
That's right, they're the FOBs, who like to play cards and smoke and speak Cantonese with ditsy girls.
The customer service is horrible as they ring you up with a they-pay-me-$5-an-hour-for-this? vacant expression plastered on their faces.
So why the extra star you ask? I like milk tea on the corner block.
This Quickly location can be kinda slow but it usually serves up a decent cup'o'tea. For me, certain orders can be a touch on the sweet side but most of my friends seem to prefer it like that. Their boba is usually cooked well and it's really reasonably priced. Probably the cheapest in the area.
See ya there!
Quickly's is NEVER quick.
Not a huge fan of Quickly's. I actually came to this place opening day, back when I was in HS. Fast forward a few years later, it's still here, right next to New Taraval Cafe.
Saw on the window that they had Kiwi juice for 99cents, that's what I got and in addition, a regular milk tea with tapioca. Kiwi juice tasted a bit like kiwi, but sort of artificial, it is artificial. All their juices seem artificial except for fresh fruit ones, which I haven't tried yet. I would prefer Wonderful Foods Co. over any Quickly's from around the world.
What can I say about a chain tapioca place that countless others have said already? Nothing much actually as I only really like coming here for their dollar special on iced coffee. For the most part this place is actually quite small and the fact that it's located so close to Lincoln High school makes it even more crazy on school days. The service is fast along with a great staff and I prefer this location over Irving any day. Just feels more comfortable being in an area where it's nice and safe without dealing with too many people at any given time.
It was a great day. Sun shining brightly and all. I suddenly had a craving for taro milk tea with tapioca and I spot Quickly from across the street. I jaywalk and enter. Surprised to see only one lady behind the counter, I go on and give her my order. I sit and notice that I was the only person in the store [excluding an old lady at the corner whom had snoozed off, forgetting about her milk tea]. In less than 15 seconds, my taro milk tea w/ tapioca is ready.
I liked the fast service.
I'm uncomfortable whenever there are many people at one place, so I was glad I was the only awake customer there.
All in all, it was OK.
I walked in there today craving something to give me enough of a sugar rush to get me thru the superbowl game, and I walked in hoping that some milk tea would help me. Well, after waiting ten minutes for the girl to make three drinks, I got over it pretty Quickly. But I still got my Thai Milk Tea, which was incredibly sweet and not worth the wait which I Quickly learned. The girl was just so damn slow though.
I'll probably end up here again, despite the fact that she annoyed me.
I used to always go here because its local ,but i now go to the other locations ,because as everyones states the service is horrible
this is the main reason i will never return to this certain one- i was waiting for my drink and i looked over the counter and i saw a lot of mold around the sink and surrounding area.
If you like mold ,and unsanitary conditions go there
I don't give the drink one star, the drinks get around 3 or 4 stars...but it's the people that work there that get 1 effin' star...if I could give no stars I would.
So I went there one day and there was NO ONE in the place...so I though "Cool, i'll be able to get my drink fast."
HA! Think again, the girl working had an attitude (of course) and took my order, and literally took about 8min to make my drink...c'mon chick...there is NO ONE in the store.Ugh, so I got my drink, and it was good.
But someone needs to stop being racist and hire some different people other than Asian's who give attitude because they would rather the customer talk to them in THEIR native language..we'll darlings...WE ARE IN AMERICA.
Jeez...sorry but it's the truth.
I rarely get tapioca drinks because I need my daily dose of caffeine from a soy latte, otherwise I would get a tingly headache. Talk about addiction!
But today was so warm that I decided not to give in to my addiction, but instead got a cold jasmine milk tea with mini tapioca from Quickly. Jasmine milk tea is a safe choice for me because some of their other fruit flavored milk teas are just too sweet. If not blended well enough, you'll find more than just tapioca at the cup bottom, the nasty powders. So I wasn't disappointed today since the drink turned out to be as good as expected.
This location is really slow with just one person working. I kinda like it when the store is packed with customers like the Milpitas and Fremont location. But it's all good cuz at least I don't have to drive too far everytime I crave for tapioca.
I usually love their taro jelly drink. I love taro anything. What a fun food to eat. Sadly 1 less star because my last order came a little bit stale tasting and the liquid was frozen over. Maybe leftovers from the day before? Considering I bought it in the evening, it bites that it was stale. I'll give them another try though and here's hoping that was just a fluke.
I like this Quickly...why? well its close to my grandparents and cousins place..and I can always pick some up. Also its close to Lincoln where my cousin goes to school at so sometimes after hes out we grab a milk tea and just walk around taraval talking.
Another thing, is that its not too bright. Its got spot lights on certain tables and its not all bright like the other quicklys. A seemingly nice place to just sit and talk and there doesnt seem to have too many kids screaming and laughing in there like the other Quicklys.
By far this would be the only Quicklys I could possibly enjoy a good book at.
And it goes a little something like this ladies & gentlemen:
Me: One Jasmine Green Tea & Fried Baby Octopus
Lady: Green Tea and what?
Me: Fried Baby Octopus
Lady: *Blank stares* Friiii...dah..
Me: Yes, On your menu, Fried Baby Octopus. You know, Octopus that's deep fried A-K-A Calamari?
Lady: Frieeee....dahhh..Babee... Oct..? *looks at the worker behind her*
Me: ???? (-_- ) *scrapes tongue* (to self= am i saying this wrong?)
Man: What did you want to order?
Me: Fried Baby Octopus
Man: Oh i'm sorry we don't have that.
Me: You don't have it...(me, NOT tryin to be a jerk). Why is it on the menu then? *smiles*
Man: Oh, we don't have food.
Me: *jokingly* Well that's deceiving, I'm hungry.
Man: Well our menus come like that.
Me: *double sigh* i see, default signs.
30 seconds later:
Me: Uhhm..*holds up drink to which it appears to have a milk appearance* is this regular Jasmine Green Tea?
Lady: Yes, Jasmine Green Tea.
Me: But this has milk in it? I ordered the regular one.
Lady: Oh, regular size?
Me: No, the regular, non-milk Green Tea.
Lady: *walks back to redo it* *slides me drink without a word*
Me: Hmm thanks. :) *pokes straw*
Man & Lady: Wait we want to give you back some money.
Me: Kekekekeke *yes my asian laugh* it's a few cents, it's okay.
Man: makes me take the 50 cents.
Me: Thanks *smiles*
THE END
So I'd give it about 2.5 stars, a little under average.
That was nice she gave me back the few cents :)
Other than that, who in the world has a menu clearly written out with a food section, and deceives this little hungry asian girl...
Oh I see it now after 3 squints, in 3pt *some ugly san serif typeface* indicating they don't carry it? Either increase the type size or cover the whole section up, but then again this is just the design rage inside me.
2.5 stars.
I went here once...with my BF after having sushi. I walked and we ordered drinks. The menu was nothing like other Quickly's I've been to. Most of the stuff says "coming soon" Wow..they're kinda late. Anyways...the drinks weren't bad but the service sucked! There were 2 people working behind the counter. The guy took the order AND made the drinks so the wait was longer than expected. The other girl was simply sitting behind the counter on her stupid laptop. Like wtf...you're at work aren't you? Shouldn't you be doing something?
I didn't even try the tapioca/boba because I'm the pickiest with that and I automatically know this place will have the worst ever! So we opted for milk tea with lychee jelly...the safest thing you can possibly get. Not bad but I ended up not even drinking half of it because I was so mad with the service.
Their furniture placement was not nice. The interiors were blahh...I really don't like this place. They're TV was on but they didn't even press the freakin' play button! It only had the main menu to whichever video they had on.
Not sure if I'll ever go back...Maybe if I wanted something to drink...which I'll probably only stick to the milk tea. I wouldn't even want to try the food there. BLAHHH.....
3.5 stars.
This is where i get my caffeine/ hot milk tea/ coffee fix during my 15 minute coffee breaks.
No food options (yet), so for now, only drinkies for you here. You must forage for your food options elsewhere.
They don't have the 'Hot Flan/Pudding' flavored beverage, but they have a poster of it on their wall. *random*
I love that when I ask them for a hot beverage, they are sure to make it *SUPERburningHOT*, just the way i like.
Comfy seating, adorable pop videos playing on the flatscreens above.
Now this Quickly is nothing more than a hangout for kids from Lincoln H.S.. In the evening all the employee's friends would do nothing but hang out with their pimped out rides. On an average evening, there might be 1 person inside.
I felt so lame going in here because everyone else was about 16 years old and was playing cards.
But I needed a bubble tea so I sucked it up and got one.
The Quickly on Irving had a special Strawberry Mango Slush -- I had it this past weekend. It was pretty tasty.
I found myself near the Taraval one yesterday, craving another -- big mistake.
The place was pretty much empty and there was only one employee.
Me: "The Quickly on Irving had a Strawberry Mango Slush, can you make that here too?"
She: [staring blankly for a moment]
She: "Is that a slush?"
Me: "Yes"
She: [staring blankly for a moment]
She: "Okay"
Me: "Can I have a Honeydew one too?"
She: "~$7"
So I pay and notice that my change was short a dime. No big deal. I was going to throw all of the change into the tip jar anyway.
I receive my drinks and notice that neither of them are full. Both are at least a quarter empty. I also ask why there isn't any tapioca. She kinda just looks at me and I don't think she understood. (I imagine a hamster spinning in her brain) Moments later she says that I didn't order any.
I know normally they ask if you want any, and if you want small or large. But she didn't, so I well, perhaps I just assumed that they'd be there by default. Apparently that's my fault. No big deal.
On my way out, I noticed a help wanted sign. One of their criteria is "must speak English"; perhaps comprehension isn't a requirement.
At this point in my head they're down to two, maybe three stars. The real deal breaker though was the taste. The Strawberry Mango was absolutely disgusting. I almost wanted to throw up after the first sip. I could detect a bit of a banana flavor, but well, it was just a mess.
The honeydew one was mediocre, teetering on poor. It was very chalky, and not blended well at all.
Stay away, far away.
The service is always super slow here. Does it really take 15 minutes for you to make an Almond Ice Tea drink? I swear there are places on Irving that makes the same thing in less than 3 minutes. Also, the people who work here BARELY speak any English at all. Place is usually overrun with high school kids in the area, or it's just dead quiet. And never ask them to make any food like the chicken bits. They usually refuse, saying some bullshit like the oven isn't turned on or what-not. Seriously... if you're that lazy, why work here at all? Close the store so you don't have to deal with us customers. Then you can watch all the crappy chinese soap operas and music videos you want without us bothering you.
This place is real cute..alot of students seem to gather here too.
Came in here with my sis and our 2 little cousins...I ordered the canteloupe milk tea with tapioca...and it hit the spot! It was tasty..
I'm soo happy because I just found out you can get mini tapiocas...not just the big ones, that usually I end up choking on!
Next time I'll be sure to get the smaller tapiocas in my drink!
I like how it's clean and cutely decorated.
Recently, I went to Quickly's to order a milk tea. There was only one girl at the counter who took my order and made it pretty fast and really good. The decor looks much nicer since they remodeled it.
The only problem was that some of the people that work here don't have a very good attitude. The girl who helped me obviously looked like she had a problem with me paying in cash or something.
This time they didn't mess up on my order, so one more star.

Honestly, Quickly doesn't really amaze me that much. I see it everywhere around San Francisco and it… Read more »
I know this joke is very old, but this place should be called SLOWLY. I had to watch that ridiculous video on the monitor of that guy with the flowers and his stupid girlfriend 80 times, while I was standing in line with my favorite people, the area high school kids.
Now, a review of the drinks: meh
When I tripped entering this place, I knew it was an omen. I came here with my sister to get a boba drink and hang but it was the oddest place I've ever been to. Everything just mismatched. The country music playing didn't match the Hello Kitty and Company decor along with the musty odor. Along side that, the girl who served me hardly spoke.
Then, I got my Strawberry boba. I was excited because this was the only saving grace for this quirky little Quickly joint. I tasted it and thought, "Oh my gosh, did Strawberry shortcake accidentally fall into the blender?" Yes, folks, it didn't taste that great. I'm sure other Quickly establishments are great, unfortunately, this place didn't work out for me.
I really wish I could give this place a ZERO!!
I've ordered the Thai Iced Tea on two separate occasions and both times were spoiled. I figured I'd give them a second chance when I ordered the second time. Totally badddd idea!! Shame on me! At least they were nice enough to let me exchange my spoiled drink for something else, but it should've never happened in the first place! Good thing is at least I didn't get sick! My friend ordered a regular Milk Tea and it turned out to be spoiled. Regular milk tea, which I assume is what most people order, was.....spoiled! I doubt, it seriously does not take that much of your time to check if your food/drink products are growing little green valleys with the existence of tiny microscopic inhabitants living in them!! Okay, maybe that was a little too extreme, but you get what I mean. If my Thai Tea was spoiled, who knows how long it has been sitting there!
I believe all the Quickly's are the same (at least all the ones I've been to): Service is slow and can be very forgetful with powdered and overly sweet premade drinks. I used to go to this Quickly's (since I lived close by) to satisfy my constant cravings for tapioca. By constant, I mean every other day of the week....but that was about a year ago. I've heard they've remodeled, but probably wouldn't step foot in there again.
I have had nothing but [hot and cold] milk tea here. And it is tasty! They are quick (ha)!
The staff is usually lame, unprofessional, or inappropriate, but I don't really expect much from them.
I'm not going to get hot tea anymore, because I just discovered it is microwaved :(
The store feels and looks much more clean after the remodel.
Quickly is meh, inconsistent at best.
But since they're all over the city now, it's usually the cheapest and most convenient place to get some boba.
This is probably my least favorite Quickly.
When it's school time, avoid this place like the plague from after school till around 4:30. There are a bunch of Asian gangster wannabes smoking in front of the place that look at you all menacingly.
Also, that girl (you'll probably figure out which one if you visit often enough) always, always messes up the order.
Order green tea, get jasmine.
Order taro, get regular milk tea.
My mom tried ordering in Chinese, and she just gave us this stoned, blank face look.
And guess what she does with the milk tea she just screwed up?
Pops it right into the fridge only to give to my mom who orders about an hour later for my little brother.
I dunno about you, but I don't like my tapioca extra chewy -___-
Great place somtimes I get a mouth full of old tapioca balls though.
I live right around the corner from this place and go a couple times a week. I didn't see it before the remodel, but I think it looks nice inside. My tea is always delicious and never takes too long.
Minus one star for the girl who talks on her hands free phone while standing at the register, listening to me order while i do not realize she is on her phone, then making me repeat my order after she hangs up. Lame.
Below me is a reviewer who needs to go back to school for writing skills. SFUSD needs to kick it up. But this is for Quickly...
Overall this chain is great with drink consistancy. Everytime I order a Green Milk Tea with Tapioca balls, which do not float but sink to the bottom, it always tastes the same. That is Star One.
Star Two is for the late hours. Excellent for a late date snack.
Star Three is for the quick service - pun possibly intended. haha
Star Four is for their selection in drinks, and the wall mirror across from it, so when some fly girl walks in, I'm confident I look hot.
Minus Star Four for the 2 of 3 comatose workers who don't know how to smile. They scare me, throwing off my game when some fly girl walks in - rendering the mirror useless.
Wow!! Today, I was just in the sunset neighborhood doing some business. Saw this Taraval Quickly place to get a snack drink. Went in and tried their Milk Tea (Lai Cha) and their summer special called Papaya Milk (soy milk). Tremendous taste...out of this world! Never tasted such quality milk tea. The service was excellent...quick, courteous, and efficient. Nice ambience...beautiful curvilinear design in the ceiling area and nice choice of interior colors. Next time I want to try their avocado and watermelon summer specials. Even if you are not in this neighborhood, you should make a trip here to try it. Would give this place six stars if possible. Two thumbs up!
me: *looks at the "snacks" menu for the crispy chicken*, there's a "COMING SOON" sign next to it. its been there for forever.
employee: on stand by. doing nothing, as usual.
me: "hey, so do you know when you guys are gonna start making snacks? its been saying "coming soon" for a long time now."
employee: "umm, i don't know." *probably thinking, leave me the fuck alone*
me: "so are you guys EVER going to make it?"
employee: *awkward smile and giggle* "... probably not."
me: "so then why is it on the menu on the wall, if its not going to be available!??!"
employee: "i don't know" *starts walking away facing the back pretending to do other things*
...........UHM OKAY. I only give this place a star because I occasionally still come here for a jasmine boba tea and it satisfies my boba crave. but i canNOT stand being in this place for more than 2 minutes.
I've been to the 3 Quickly's in the city. The one in Taraval is great during the summer when there aren't that many students. It's quiet, and it's not so noisy and boisterous. It turns into a mini-Asian-wannabe-thug hangout at precisely 2:30pm M-F. But maybe some of you have never noticed that, I don't know.
But it is sadly the best Quickly locale in SF for me. The one on Ocean is okay, but it's not really nearby for me, and the one on Polk St. is near work, but I'd prefer just to have something from the local places instead when I am there.
Upside: It's cheap ($1.62 for a large, no boba, 5 different flavors), 1 block off the L-line muni stop. You can see the outbound coming down Taraval and leave to catch it.
Downside: They do not serve snacks yet, some of their employees are not the most courteous, quality control (lacking).
Bottom-Line: I only go here because it's convenient and cheap. This place (as with most boba shops) seems to be aimed at a high-school aged crowd - and it gets over-run with them on weekend nights. I'll only take my drinks to go.
Love this Quickly. What's with all the bad reviews? I don't care if the kids come here (it's close by lincoln h.s so what do you expect). I order a drink and leave right away, so it doesn't matter how trendy or crappy the place is =) but really its not that bad. The tapioca here is good... i almost always get my drink with small tapioca since they seem to be softer than the regular tapioca. I have also gotten aloe vera with my drink. It was yummy. I like the bubble milk tea and iced coffee.
I personally, dislike all Quicklys. One word-powder.
I don't know about the other peeps who reviewed this place but my drink and service were fine. People need to stop acting like the world owes them something and open up to the fact that not everyone is genius. With that said, my drink came out the way I ordered it and the mixed small and large tapioca balls is really the only way to go. The dirnk could be more cold though....that's my only complaint. Lay off the people that work here, it's a quickly for christ sake, not a 5 star dinig extravaganza!
Their drinks are just ok but you can do a lot better at other tapioca drink shops. The problem is with the work ethic of their employees. Think of the dullest and slowest person in the world you can imagine and there you have it. Even with no one in the store, they are sloooow and unmotivated. Also somehow they don't have some of the drinks that are advertised on their menu. This has happened more than twice. I would advise going elsewhere unless you have no choice.
Not the best place ever to take care of my tapioca cravings, but the most convenient for me, plus what I usually get (Taro milk tea w/tapioca) is one of those never ending "grand opening" specials so it's cheap. I usually stop by during off hours, so service is always pretty speedy. But the last time I stopped by on my way home I'd say about half of the tapioca balls had this disgusting hard and gritty texture. Now, I don't know anything about tapioca except how to eat it, so I had no clue what was wrong with it, except that it was wrong. So wrong. I should have gone back and said something but the L train was coming and it was cold. Shame on my lazy self.
I usually avoid Quickly's because I've heard so many bad things about this chain (You don't wanna know, trust me!). But, I was hanging out with some old friends and one of them wanted Hot Almond Milk Tea, so I agreed to go. First off, I was quite surprised because the interior was completely remodeled! Okay, one star for that, and for the chairs being clean and comfy (cushiony!). Second star for the nice girl behind the counter who didn't shoot dirty looks at us every thirty seconds (see Irving store review). This may have been because she was too occupied talking and giving free drinks to her friends who were on the other side of the room reading magazines and whatnot. Third star is for the sip of Hot Almond Milk Tea that I took from my friend. Not bad, not bad.
They recently remodelled this place and it looks a lot cuter than before. it's usually crowded at lunch from all the students but their drinks never suck. Hopefully they'll get some of the yummy snacks the other Quicklys have.
Okay, so my first time here was already a bad experience. I don't remember how long the wait was, but there was only one person working and since I had my dog with me, I had to wait outside. I swear it felt like I waited like an hour while my bf was waiting in line to order. And then another hour while waiting for our drinks. Fine right? Next time back to this place is what compelled me to write this very first review on Yelp. I just feel like as a SF resident, I should warn everyone who goes to Quickly NOT to ever go to this location, unless they are bored out of their minds and have an hour or two to kill. It was on a Saturday afternoon and I was craving a drink. I wanted to avoid busy Irving so decided to go to this one since there should be less people here. Turns out there really was less people BUT the wait didn't feel like it. Plus, this snotty girl was behind the cashier and the whole time I was ordering she gave me the worst attitude. Nah uh girlfriend! AND how can you not have any add ons? No small tapioca, no aloe, no nothing! To top that off, my Jasmine Green Tea (with no add ons) tasted awful. It had this FUNKY aftertaste. Eww. Sorry Quickly on Taraval, you just lost another customer!
