I have to believe "Steve I" is a competitor scamming Yelp to hurt Queso Blanco. I eat at Queso Blanco pretty much weekly and to even read the word "greasy" shows Steve hasn't even eaten at Queso Blanco. And overpriced? Maybe compared to Taco Bell, but the prices are on par with Don Pablo's for MUCH higher quality food.
Of course, anyone who has no photo and only one review is suspect.
Several new menu items have been added since my first review a year ago, and I love them all. The fish is of the highest quality. Actually, I was at the restaurant when the owner was meeting with the fish distributor and I heard him telling the guy he wants nothing but the very best. He didn't know I was listening.
I know the owners would NOT ignore a complaint. Terrell would simply do whatever it takes to make his customers happy. Heck, there's a local billionaire that eats there regularly, sitting next to the construction workers and computer geeks (like me).
The food is ALWAYS fresh and high quality. The best way to know is to give it a try. I guarantee you'll like it, unless you hate Mexican food or prefer saucy, frozen "Texican" at Don Pablos.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 16, 2009Previous reviewThe owner/chef, Yolanda, is from Oaxaca, Mexico, the culinary capital of Mexico. Her husband and co-owner, Terrel, is the nicest guy in Westfield. Together they have created an authentic experience with great service and the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico or Texas. It's a surprise to find in Westfield, so get there and try it if you haven't already.

GREAT food and the best Mexican food I think I've had. Even better than San Diego where you can see Mexico!
I love the fajitas and my wife loves the Chili Rellenos. A MUST visit for anyone in the Indianapolis area. You definitely could miss it but you'd be the one missing out!
Best Chips and Salsa and that's my biggest queue on rating a place personally. Even on a take out order they gave free chips and salsa!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marcie M.Wesley Chapel, Tampa Bay, FL58352938Jul 15, 2010
I cannot say that I have the same passion that Chuck L. has about Queso Blanco, but I did enjoy it. I wasn't blown away and I didn't feel that it was the BEST Mexican I had ever had, but I had a very lovely experience.
My sister and I went today for lunch and I got the fajita chicken salad. It was exactly as I had expected. The chicken was all white meat, the cheese sauce was great, there was a generous dollop of sour cream and the veggies were very fresh.
The service was solid, and refills were plentiful! The restaurant was clean and the tables weren't crowded as they are in some Mexican restaurants, which was nice!
I did think it was more expensive than other Mexican places, though. I am not sure I would go out of my way again to go, but if I was in the area, I would definitely consider it as a good option :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jose B.Westfield, IN93Apr 28, 2010Updated review

We ordered our food and a few minutes later Terrel the owner brought us hot dogs for my son. I found out later Terrel the owner went to the local grocery store and bought some hot dogs cooked them and served them. What service!!! never thought he would do that.
I had a birthday party for my daughters 16th birthday with several of her friends. Everyone had a great time.
Excellent food, excellent service, and the price is right.
I used to live in California and there you can find all kinds of authenic Mexican restaurants.
Queso Blanco is the closest you will get to an authenic Mexican restaurant.
This is a must place to go and dine. - G S.Indianapolis, IN16256Aug 13, 2010
The wife and I are here next to every week. We love the atmosphere and the service. Great southwest food!!! I love the pollo loco Mexicano and the wife loves the two tamale meal. The queso is a great starter! Make sure you stop in before leaving historical Westfield!!

The food is pretty bland and the portions small. There are other better choices nearby. Probably the worst Mexican restaurant in the area.

After reading Steve L's review, I am wondering what planet he came from or if his taste buds are dead from too much of something. Queso Blanco is the real deal. I personally know that every vegetable is fresh, that everything is prepared fresh, and is not from frozen packages. After eating in many Mexican restaurants in California I and my wife - who grew up and lived in California most of her life think that it is the best around. The service is always friendly and prompt. The restaurant is spotless, including the restrooms, and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend it highly. It's worth a trip even from out of town.

The chips and salsa were great, atmosphere ok, service was friendly and fast but they messed up my order three times. The food was good but portions were small and expensive. I will return because of location and it's better than Jaripeo and Cancun; not even close to quality of La Hacienda on Meridian and 131st.

I haven't been to Westfield in years but I most certainly have a reason to return now that I've been to Queso Blanco. I've never written a yelp review before and this was the place that was good enough to make me come home and post a review straight away. The food, first and foremost, was fantastic. The carnitas were cooked to perfection, the salsa was fantastic and everyone else in my family enjoyed their enchiladas, tacos and more. My dad is notoriously difficult to please and when extra cilantro, onion and a sour cream omission was requested, the staff handled everything with aplomb. And here's the kicker ... we tasted a bit of their bbq ribs (ribs at a Mexican place?) and they were as good as anything this family of rib connoisseurs has ever experienced. Great people, great food. Highly recommended.
