I honestly was not interested in this place when I first saw it but figured that I'd give it a try.

One of the better decisions that I've made in a while.  The people who work there are very kind and welcoming and try their best to make you feel at home.

I ordered a Footlong Fried Catfish Sandwich with a side of Onion Rings and was thoroughly impressed by the sandwich but a little disappointed because there were only about 6 onion rings even though I ordered a large order of them.

The food is very tasty and the sandwiches are very large and filling.  One drawback to the food is that it is quite pricey especially for the neighborhood but that shouldn't deter people from trying this place out.

Overall, I would highly recommend this place because of its great atmosphere and great food.

I have been waiting for this place to open for quite some time.  po boy's is located in the middle of a desolate stretch of san bruno, ave, with nothing near by but gas stations and residential homes.  This brightly painted and welcoming restaurant is a sure standout.

with authentic and tasty options made to order, i found myself in fried seafood heaven.  from their fried seafood platters to burgers to sweet potato fries, everything we ordered were "i die!" moments.

unfortunately, a lot of what i wanted to order, the restaurant ran out of that evening - their special root beer and some side dishes.

even though i smelled a lil like deep fried grease at the end of the meal and it was a bit pricey for the neighborhood BUTTTT i love me a good cup of gumbo and creole food!

I love Southern food, specifically Louisiana-style Southern. So when Queen's finally opened up, I had to make the cross-city trek to try them out.

The menu contained traditional meat po' boys like turkey and roast beef, but also the favored, fried seafood variety. I ordered a half oyster, half shrimp "dressed" po' boy. It came with lettuce, heirloom tomato slices and sweet mayo. The oysters and shrimp were lightly battered and fried to oil-popping perfection. I'm gettin' all ghetto just thinking about it...

I also had to sample their sweet potato fries. These are you're run of the mill, yuppie fries either. These babies are thick-cut and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. To die for.

Of course, no true LA restaurant would be complete without beignets. So, yes, I ordered those too. They fell a little short of the ones you can get at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans; but that just gives me incentive to go back and visit again. Queen's beignets were on the small side, which didn't leave much room for the dough to separate and create a pocket on the inside. But hey, they're still beignets, so they were delicious and of course, worthwhile.

Noteworthy:

   * Queen's also carries a lot of Louisiana-centric staples like Zapp's crawfish flavored potato chips, Abida rootbeer, and chicory enhanced coffee.
   * Troy and his wife are the owners of this quaint and casual spot. Troy is a native Californian, while his wife is from Louisiana. Troy is incredibly jolly and personable. Hope to meet his wife next time. Good people.
   * The customers seem to be narrowed down to Louisiana to SF transplants and local foodies. No tourists, no hype. Just good food for people who know better.

Finally a new restaurant on my block. I love New Orleans type food. I tried the gumbo, A bowl cost $10 and it was very skimpy. I wanted to try the potatoe salad they said it was home made so I paid the $2.50 for it and when they gave me a small Dixie cup of it I refused it because I thought it was to small and did not ask for my money back (they freaked out a bit). I really wanted to try it but I had to make a stand The owner was there but did not do anything about it. I don't leave many reviews so I guess Yelp will yank this one.

I was very excited about trying Queen's.  Hubby and I are big fans of New Orleans cuisine.  Queen's definitely has the best fried catfish and gulf shrimp I've ever had.  The sweet potatoe fries were delicious.  But the best thing on the menu has to be the gumbo!  I'm going there again this week to try the po' boys (and of course have a cup of gumbo).    I love this place!!!  Service was good and the owner is a real nice lady.
Don't be discouraged by the prices.   A lot of the ingredients are shipped from Louisiana and thus menu items seem high but well worth it!!!  I highly recommend Queen's if you love some good southern fried food!!!

The food is a bit pricey, but worth it as it's all cooked to order and made from scratch. Zatarain's this is not...

The young man neglected to give me back my change, preventing a fifth star...

I am glad that the place is finally open.  I got tired of seeing the "coming soon" sign they posted months ago. This is basically a sandwich shop with a Louisiana theme. Anyway the food is excellent. The sandwiches are well made and packed with a lot of meat.  Costumer service is warm, friendly and fast. I am glad that they opened, because they are no places to eat on that part of San Bruno Ave. I tried all their seafood po- boy sandwiches. They are all good. I am going to try their beignets next.

This neighborhood restaurant just opened up last Friday evening, and I can sense great things are about to happen there.  In no time I'm sure we'll be seeing a bright red "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker affixed to the front window.  I made a visit on just their fourth day of operation and I loved the food so much I returned the very next day.

As its name implies Queen's specializes in Louisiana cuisine namely po-boys, seafood platters and gumbo with a tasty assortment of side dishes and desserts to give diners a broader range of satisfaction.  The interior is both beautiful and festive with New Orleans-inspired artwork, Mardi Gras masks and colorful beads hung throughout.  The dining area features tables and chairs of luscious cherrywood and a cushioned bench towards the back of the restaurant complete with soft, fluffy pillows.  There's a huge television on the back wall perfect for watching New Orleans Saints games.  For more authenticity lively, soulful music plays in the background.

Business was already booming on each day that I visited.  The menu is quite broad.  There is a nice assortment of things to choose from as displayed on the big menu board inside (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).  You order at the counter, pay and you are given a number.  Find a table to sit.  When your food is ready depending on how busy the kitchen is they'll either bring the food to your table or call your number to pick up your food at the counter.

On my initial visit I ordered the two-item Combo Platter choosing the Gulf Shrimp and the Crawfish (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).  Two sides come with the platter.  I selected onion rings and sweet potato fries (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).  I ordered a fountain drink to wash everything down with.  The fountain drinks are huge.  I'm guessing the plastic tumblers they give you hold at least 20 ounces of drink and refills are okay.  They were particularly busy on this day yet the wait for my food wasn't bad at all.  Just the deep-fried Gulf Shrimp was worth the wait.  The lightly battered shrimp were nice and firm and had a very fresh sweetness to it.  The little deep-fried Crawfish tails were delicious also.  The onion rings were very good with a nice crunchy exterior surrounding a ring of soft, milky onion.  The sweet potato fries dusted with cinnamon infused powder sugar were simply heavenly.

I returned to sample the po-boys on my second visit.  I ordered the Half & Half Po-Boy which are two 6 inch seafood po-boys of your choice.  I went with the delicious Gulf Shrimp (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) again and a Fried Oyster one (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).  No sides are included, but I ordered a small order of the Noona's Hush Puppies with honey butter (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) to accompany my sandwiches.

The po-boys are served on authentic Louisiana French baguettes flown in from New Orleans.  The bread was soft and crusty.  Each po-boy comes with dressing, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, pickle chips and a very generous amount of deep fried seafood piled onto the roll.  Both of my selections were outstanding, but I think the Gulf Shrimp one is already my favorite.  The Hush Puppies were amazing also.  I'm not sure who Noona is, but her recipe is outstanding.  These were moist with a subtle sweetness of corn and an interesting essence of fresh seafood delicious with or without the soft honey butter.

The entire staff is very friendly, and they check on you often to make sure everything is okay.  Queen's is a welcomed addition to my neighborhood, and I think I'll be coming in often.  I've posted some scanned images from their printed menu since my photo of the inside menu is barely readable.  Give Queen's a try and you might be coming back often also.

Cute ambience. The music matches the food, fun festive and exciting. The have mardi gras mask and beads all over and the lovely lyrics of "Who stole my chicken!" made me giddy. They also have tasteful artwork that is vibrant. Definitely a place to bring a date or hang or with friends.. Or just eat on your own. The staff is very friendly, singing along with the music. And offering samples of the cafe au lait that goes with the beigns. The BBQ Beef was very tender and full of flavor. My husband loved the catfish po' boy. Gumbo was KILLED! Full of shrimp, crab and sausage, with every spicy bite I was in heaven. The sweet pototo fries was a miss for me. I wasn't feeling the cinnamon, it's more of a sweet dessert dish, not quite a side.

Worth the wait, they are finally open...I came in their opening Friday night and was very impressed.  I ordered a 1/2 fried shrimp poor boy and gumbo.  Both were very good, as good as I had in New Orleans a few months back.  The price is not cheap, but they deliver the quality and portions.  The 1/2 sandwich was actually pretty good sized, it was generously loaded with shrimp and dressed right.  They hit the nail on the head with the bread, it is the same as it is in New Orleans, something I haven't found from other poor boy places here.  The gumbo also was excellent with tons of shrimp, chicken , crab and sausage , all with excellent flavor.  All in all I will defiantly return to try some other stuff on the menu, especially the muffallatta.

Tried their Po Boy Sandwich and I can definitely tell that they are still in the beginning stages of their restaurant experience. The Po Boy was Ok at best, due to the small portions of seafood that was given on the sandwich compared to the vast amount of lettuce and slices of tomato. It felt dry and needed the hot sauce to give it a zip.

Overall, I feel that this is quite an expensive meal and I definitely had better.
