Review from Flor V.
I went to this restaurant with a large group of people we ended up needing three tables in total.
It was a six to eight course meal from a pre-set menu set up by the restaurant management.
We started with a salad comprised of shredded shrimp and chicken served over a bed of shredded vegetables and herbs.
The next dish that stands out involved having you actually prepare your very own Goi Cuon (Vietnamese spring roll). Round, hard rice paper is to be dipped in warm water until moist & then after you lay it flat on your plate it is to be covered with various meats in process of cooking on a hot grill combined with other plants such as jicama & herbs. Afterward, you proceed to roll the rice paper onto itself & Voilà! One of my friends made a beautiful & compact spring roll on her first try. Mine ended up looking more like a burrito but it was still yummy.
I loved the fried fish & I could have eaten that forever.
Finally , the seafood hot pot that I suppose was meant to be their piece de resistance just fell flat to me . its all that lemon-grass nonsense.
The desserts were interesting & reminded me of less fruity parfaits with coconut flavor.
This is a pretty nice restaurant with decent service.
I wouldn't mind going back again & getting the chance to order for myself this time.Listed in: Food Glorious Food

Review from Karyne K.

This restaurant is under new management and they are really dedicated to customer service . The manager is soft spoken and helpful, as well as the waiter.
My mom and I first tried it during lunch and they had many $4.99 specials of Vietnamese cuisine. We tried their shrimp eggrolls, banh hoi with grilled pork, and I had a seafood noodle soup. I wasn't a fan of my noodle soup, but the eggrolls were tasty. They were larger eggrolls that were cut in sections prior to frying, so some of the filling becomes crispy on the outside; I noticed the filling had what looked like noodles, but I figured out that it was shredded taro root, which added interesting texture and flavor to it. They were served with a thicker, sweetened nuoc mam [fish sauce], which they listed in the menu as a specialty sauce for the eggrolls.
My mom and I really liked the actual banh noi [rice noodle patties] because it was very moist and the portion was very generous.
We've also tried their bo la lot [beef rolled in a grape-like leaf], which is part of the Bo 7 Mon courses they serve; we were not impressed initially and my mom commented that it tasted too much like unseasoned beef and did not have enough of the ba la lot or lemongrass flavors. I'm not a huge fan of their mam nem, but it does what it can to complement the beef.
Recently, we decided to try the banh hoi bo la lot and it was much better this time; the flavors of lemongrass definitely came through and we think they grilled it more this time in order to char the leaf a bit more and add flavor to the beef. The banh hoi was good as usual. We ordered a portion to go, so we could eat it later with Thanh Thanh's mam nem they sell in Vietnamese markets and more lettuce and vegetables.
The coolest part, to me, is the free dessert at the end of the meal. They are made in the restaurant and have ranged from banh bo with coconut milk and toasted sesame to pandan-flavored Asian gelatin served with crushed ice.
Kin Giang is a nice place to try and the only major flaw is its location, which is in a lackluster location that is not around Garland's major markets and restaurants. Also, if you are going from Audelia Road, it splits and make sure you go to the left on Skillman East and follow that; it will be on your right and will say Kin Giang Seafood on the sign. Enjoy!
