5 reviews for Quality Inn Silicon Valley
Great value in Silicon Valley! I was looking for a value for the money location during my stay here and was quite happy with it. I got a great internet booking rate for a king room with a balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable...free wireless internet that works - a requirement for me! - is a huge plus. Conveniently located just off the 237 freeway to get to many locations easily plus fairly close to the SJC airport.
They do have a continental breakfast which is not bad - fairly good muffins, fruit, cereal, waffles, juice and coffee. Plus you do have in-room coffee, microwave and fridge. They also have a public use computer in the lobby which is handy to print boarding passes etc.
I always want comfort and connectivity, but sometimes I want value based convenience travel and sometimes want a bit of luxury - depends on the trip. This is a great example of the former. I was quite happy with it and will stay here again since I will have other occasions to come here.
Stayed a couple of nights here - the service was nice and very helpful. Had a "continental breakfast" of some muffins, some breakfast bars, batter to make your own belgian waffle, some cereal & coffee. Not bad.
The room itself was pretty nice - didn't notice much wrong with it. Nice shower (with the "shower space increasing" rod thingy... if that makes any sense at all...).
If you're going to the convention center, it's about 1.5 miles away. I walked sometimes and took a cab sometimes too (about $10 for a cab ride from there).
All in all, very pleasant stay - would definitely recommend.

We are very happy our stay at this place. Not only is it relatively cheap, the room is surprisingly quiet considering its proximity to the highway, and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly, and they have free real breakfast with muffins, you-make-your-own waffles, yogurts, cereals, and fruits. The place is beyond our expectation.
We stayed here for a few days while finding a place to live - initially chose it based on TripAdvisor reviews as well as the fact they allow pets. We had a spacious room with a comfy king sized bed and a decent sized bathroom. Breakfast was included - nothing too exciting, but it was free! We've settled into our new home now, but we'll recommend this to friends who come to visit.

holy moley, what a nightmare.
the location of this hotel is good if you are on a business trip and are working in one of the tech co's in santa clara or sunnyvale. the santa clara convention ctr is about a mile or two straight down tasman dr. its not a great location if youre looking for food or entertainment and dont have a car.
I booked this hotel for a Korean associate who was visiting our office for 4 days. this was his first trip to the US. I chose this hotel based on the many positive reviews on trip advisor, and the fact that it is very close to our office. However, our experience was very negative, mainly due to the manager's rudeness. Our guest was very unhappy with his room, there was no hot water. when I called the next morning to ask about their refund policy, the manager became very irate, although I had spoken with him in a calm manner. He was very aggressive, asserting that they have excellent customer service, which was not evident based on his reaction. He was angry that the man had not requested a room change, although the guest does not really speak english, culturally he's just not that assertive. He said there was no way we could get any money back, since we had paid in advance. To allay our guest's discomfort, I booked him at the Marriott nearby, he was happy with his stay there.
When one of my co-workers (a Korean speaker, who could translate) went with the guest to check out of the Quality Inn after that first night, the manager again confronted them aggressively. Although both of the men from my office are very polite, the owner started yelling at them, telling them that they were liars, that the room definitely had hot water. This outburst was not provoked, and has led to a great deal of embarrassment on our part, on behalf of our guest. Although our guest checked out after just one night, the owner refused to credit us any money for the 4 nights that we had paid, even though he was free to rent the room to another visitor.
On a better note, I did have a more positive experience with another front desk person. she had the same last name as the manager, maybe she was his wife? she was pretty patient with us when we explained our frustration with having to pay for the whole week. she refused to give us any money back. We did get her to admit that she had rented the room out to someone else after our visitor checked out, but while we were still paying for the room. My co-worker, who is a really quiet person, asked for an apology for being called a liar. the manager called, ostensibly to apologize, but started yelling again. my co-worker fibbed and said we were considering a lawsuit. that seemed to shut the man up.
according to trip advisor, most people have a positive experience here. its too bad that the manager's temper problems have caused him to lose a potentially strong customer. i will be sure to advise any business associates against using this hotel. we will probably put any future guests up on El Camino Real in Sunnyvale. Those places are much further away from my office, but they seem to actually care about satisfying their business customers.
