I was determined to get my fresh Maryland crabs during crab season, and this place was recommended by another place that "didn't have crabs that night" (WTF???)
We ordered the "40s"....which I guess means we got a dozen Maryland blue crabs for $40. They all came out piled high on one another, all male crabs, steamed and then smothered in the Old Bay (?) seasoning. *Crick* *crack* *crick* *crack* I'd forgotten how much work eating crabs could be! But yummy at the same time. Bits of crab were flying everywhere! =) We also ordered some corn on the cob (warm and buttery! mm mm mmm) and crab dip (dip into it with some warm bread with melted cheese over it, so rich and filling).
It felt a little strange eating fresh crabs while people next to you are drinking beer and shooting pool. It would've been nice to have bibs to wear over our clothes, but oh well. I was determined to get my fresh Maryland crabs during crab season, so this was it.
Very casual atmosphere (this is a bar where the front room has pool tables and tables to eat at and the back room has extra tables for more diners). Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, good service.
I left Baltimore crabbed-out =)
