I had ringing in my ears w/ hearing loss and dizziness for about 2 weeks, went to my regular doctor said he could find nothing, referred me to a specialist (who was no longer there and had moved 2 practices since), then said the next available date would be DECEMBER 8TH, 2009!!!!! Looked on YELP in desperation and found Dr. M. Putnam. What a godsend! Her office squeezed me in (was there in 1 1/2 days VS December 8th, 2009), the office was very professional, called w/ reminder appointment and then squeezed me into another appointment the very same day with an audiologist.
Dr. Putnam was very professional, empathetic and has a good personality and took the time to explain what I have and what I need to do to take care of this - in plain English/layman's terms - so I could understand everything. I asked questions and she did not make me feel stupid or rushed as some doctor's do.
I was referred to Michelle for a worrisome throat problem that I'd been dealing with for a very long time. I found her to be curt and rushed. She seemed to ignore me when I tried to express my concerns and went directly to writing prescriptions. She barely took the time to write the instructions down for the meds and brushed off my questions about her possibly chasing the wrong symptoms.
I saw her a few weeks later for a followup when I'd had no improvement and it was the same unpleasant experience where she hurried to prescribe something totally different and then tossed me out the door. Overall an unsatisfying and disappointing experience and the stereotype of the rushed and disinterested doctor.
I made a same day appointment to see Dr. Putnam (they were able to fit me in before lunch) and she was great! She didn't rush me, she took time with me to answer my questions and check out my ear, nose and throat issues. She was also friendly which I was very glad about.
