Review from Chris B.

I went to this fantastic wine bar with my Dad, and we had a great time. The staff were top-notch, the atmosphere was lively, and the wine selection was respectable. I ordered a 3-sample flight and discovered an excellent yet very affordable French Chardonnay. We also ordered a nice cheese & meat plate, which included fruit and some delicious smoked almonds.
No complaints. Highly recommended! -

My husband and I headed to The Purple Tooth on a Saturday night. We had a hard time with parking on West Street. We parked 1 block further away from Church Circle at a parking garage across the street and behind LemonGrass. The parking in the evenings is an affordable $2.00 flat rate. We walked over and got in to the place around 8:30. It was packed! The place is quite small and there were zero seats + standing room only. We looked at the menu before deciding to leave. From our standing view point (and talking to a waitress) I learned:
- they start getting busy around 8:00
- there is a table in the middle of the place that seats 10
- there is also a couch / love seat combo right by the front window which would also be great to sit at
- the atmosphere is dark, cozy and loud
- food items are slim: 2 different cheese plates, 2 different olive plates, 1 baguette / olive oil plate, 1 chocolate truffle plate
- beers are sold
- no mixed drinks at all
- wine is served by the bottle, 5 oz glass or 2 oz taste
- you can order any wine as a 2 oz taste or you can order a "flight" and get 3 tastes from a certain region that they pair together (is it a pairing if it's 3??).
- I would have ordered the "California Dreamin' Flight", and it was $20.00 (+/- $1.00) for a total of 6 oz of wine.
We will return - before 8:00 next time! -

The wine was great and the staff was very knowledgeable of the different wines. However, we went there on a Saturday- about 11:30pm and were told it was last call so they helped us pick a bottle and offered us to drink it there. Well, as people were leaving they started turning off the music, turning on all of the lights, and basically kicking us out- way before midnight (when they supposedly closed).
At 11:57pm, we had maybe one full glass left in our bottle and the person, who I believe is the owner, came over- shoved a cork in all the way in our $50 bottle of wine- which was impossible to get out when we got home- and put our bottle in a paper bag and told us to leave.
I understand that they close at midnight, but the manner that this person handled the situation was unreasonable. We didn't complain about them cleaning up around us and the rest of the staff was going about their business doing what they needed to do.
We're in Annapolis a lot and frequent visitors to wine bars- this is one that was my favorite, but after being treated the way I was- I definitely will not be back and will make sure everyone that I know, will stay away from there. -

Love it! I always get the red wine sampler purely because it's just too fun to have three glasses of yummy wine all at one time! The service is great and the owners are super nice. I'm a small-town WI girl at heart, but this place is so hip that when I visit I feel like I just might be super-cool after all!

What a great place. Just moved here and found this gem. Great selection although not that large, the owner has great taste and a good eye for value.

This wine bar just closed down - another victim of our times! Shame, it was a bit pricey but made a change from the usual tourist trap serving mediocre food at inflated prices normally found in Annapolis.
