Purple Cafe was yet another Yelp recommendation but we opted for the Kirkland location which is the #2 of 4 Purples, opened since 2003.
Kirkland will not have the centerpiece wine tower that Seattle has but there's an easy parking lot instead.
As you enter, you'll see wine displayed on the walls, a large bar and a large brick wall with lit candles. Ambiance was fine.
Service was great, good recommendations, frequent checking on wine, food, etc.
We decided to order their 3 course for $25 and had the Purple chopped salad....a must have with avocado, bacon bits, garbanzo, light vinaigrette, Wild Boar Bolognese Pappardelle (excellent with a nice kick of fire), and Creme Brulee. I had the Penne Pesto which lacked some seasoning and salt but the Key Lime Bar was very good.
We were pleasantly surprised by the large portions and didn't finish our pasta entrees. Next time it's share time.
Wine by the glass is abundant and don't worry about sending a glass back after your first taste, Wine Bars will accommodate.
Hmm, I still don't love this place like everyone else.
I came here early, with a party of 5. Of course, everyone is late so I grab a table and the hostess explains that that the table is taken by another party at 8 pm. Do I think that will be a problem? Since it's around 5 pm, I'm good to go.
Huge selection to choose from, but since I went with something blah. I think I need to come on a half off day to get more experimental.
I still hate those heavy wrought iron chairs. They're uncomfortable and impossible to move around. That said, service was good and the food was okay. The bill wasn't a wallet buster and I got there early enough to find parking. (I think we had some app's and the ahi tuna for eats.)

It's been quite awhile since I've been here, but I'm not as hot on this place as the average bear,… Read more »
The only reason this restaurant gets 4 stars instead of 5 is due to it's really lack-luster location and parking. It's in the most charm-free area one could imagine, and it's always a hassle trying to just get a spot, let alone try to get in for a shorter wait than an hour.
All that being said - dear God this place is fantastic. I've never had a bad food experience here. Sundays are 1/2 priced bottle days off a selected list... and that just makes me happy in my heart.
I may or may not be a bit of a lush (blushing profusely).
The service is always adequate. I've had some fairly superior service there, a lot of mediocre and never downright poor. In this area - that's a win.
4-words for you: Lobster Mac and Cheese. It makes you question the necessity of a significant other. It's pretty much all you need for at least the 15 minuts it takes to snarf it down.
I love that their menu is seasonal and changes. It makes it interesting every time I go there. The one thing I haven't seen on their menu in about 2 years now is a fabulous little iced cream sandwich sampler. 3 different types of cookies with iced cream stuffed between them. My favorite of the 3 - snickerdoodles with cinnamon iced cream. I'm having a seizure just thinking about it. They make you wonder what you're doing with your life.
I'm also completely gay for their cheese flights. My favorite single cheese - fromager d'affinois pepper. Trust me.
Great wine selection too. They're not afraid to charge you for it, but I haven't been to a place in this area that isn't overly proud of their products so I figure it's pretty par for the course. Also - that Sunday 1/2 priced bottle thing helps :)
Go here!
great food and a nice restaurant.
Loves the calamari! and what a great wine selections.
The wild salmon sandwich is very nicely done. They give you big pieces of fish too. My wife had the BBQ pork sandwich and she loves it too.
The service was just okay. We went during lunch time and there was only one waiter in our section with over 15 tables. He was overwhelmed.
We will be back!
This has lately become the go-to place for my best friend and I to meet for dinner and drinks, as a result maybe I'm a bit biased because coming here just means that I get some much needed girly time with my bff.
Either way, I really appreciate the fact that such a place exists. I haven't had anything here that I didn't like. The sandwiches are good, the salads, and the pasta...and don't even get me started about the wine. Delicious!
I love the fact that it's a nice place for us to go out and feel like we're having a nice grown up conversation and meal without also breaking our bank accounts. We've also had parties in the backroom, and it's great. I really like this place and I'm a big fan.
We had a reservation for later but ended up getting there early. They were able to seat us anyway, and were even thoughtful in where they sat us. While I waited the few minutes, I checked out the bathroom. Nice, but a little too dark to be useful for checking hair/etc.
The layout of the place is a little crowded, but not so bad if you sit in the half away from the bar. Quieter and fewer tables. Our waiter was a little too eager (everything was "awesome") but at the same time, a little slow with service (minus a star).
We decided to have my b/f get the 3 course special and I got an entree. Beware--some of the 3 course deals are not deals. Look on the regular menu to check prices. He ordered the hanger steak appetizer, top sirloin entree, and the smore dessert. I got the lobster mac and cheese with a side of green beans.
The food was delicious and worth the prices. We couldn't believe the hanger steak--so flavorful and cooked perfectly. He doesn't like his steak medium rare and this was bordering on rare, yet even he liked it. The top sirloin was too tough, but this is a problem with the cut rather than the way it was prepared. My entree was so rich that I had to take half home. Lots of nice chunks of lobster, although kind of salty. They give lots of green beans in the side, but it annoyed me slightly that they use the French name on the menu with no explanation. I know French, but unless you know it or frequent French restaurants you wouldn't. It's not like the restaurant was French.
Onto the dessert! It's a half dome of french vanilla ice cream with chunks of marshmallow in it. On top is a thin crispy piece of chocolate mixed with a rice krispie treat flavor. On the plate are splashes of chocolate sauce and caramel. It was really good caramel, too, and I'm not normally a fan.
All in all, it was plenty of food for 2, and it was a nice way of sampling the menu. We did not try the wines, but they have TONS and offer pairings.
The first thing to remember about Purple is that it is in Kirkland which means that there is a high percentage of douchebags and cougars. Casting this aside, Purple is quite charming and the food quite good. We went there on a weeknight around 5 so it was not quite busy yet. Good call. The wine list is extensive but our waiter didn't seem too comfortable working his way around it. I got the hint of rote memorization more than once but that was ok.
We started with the cheese flight with the wine pairing which was great. Three cheeses, crackers, pear, some kind of jelly/compote - I am happy. We then split the duck confit salad with figs, crab cakes and bacon-wrapped scallops. The salad was more than met the eye with big chunks of duck and cheese. Delicious. The crab cakes were better than average but they definitely needed the spicy, creamy sauce that went with them. I scraped the plate it was so good. The scallops were outstanding little bites of pork goodness. The scallops themselves were fine but, really, wrap anything in bacon (good, meaty, chewy bacon) and I will love it.
There were some service issues when we first got there but they seemed to rebound. We had to make a movie and the waiter was very accommodating about getting us out on time. They were jumping when we left so I am thinking the early arrival improved my Purple disposition.
This is just an OK place. Average food and Average Service. I don't drink so I don't know much about their wine or if this is the wine place.
I've been to the Kirkland location numerous times and the downtown Seattle location too. Good service, good food at this wine theme restaurant. Currently they offer a $25 and $35 dinner special. We sampled grilled asparagus, the Purple chop salad, seared tuna and wild boar pappardelle. Creme Brulee dessert. All were great.
Nice atmosphere and good people watching.
I've heard quite a bit about this place through various outlets. When I finally decided to make reservations here for my girlfriend's father's b-day I was excited to try it out. First thing I noticed: this place is LOUD! The acoustics need to be refined. When having an open restaurant with brink walls there should be something in place so that those sitting at the same table can hear each other. The echos of others speaking was overwhelming at the least.
While the wine list was extensive (this is what people come here for) other beverages were lacking. As I am a beer man, I stuck with the local Mac 'n Jack's so the other tables would not judge me.
The baked Brie as an appetizer was pretty darn good. But, let's be honest, how difficult is it to mess up baked brie? The entree's were were good but not great. Pork tenderloin, duck breast, and pizza. While it was an eclectic order for the table as a whole, any one dish was not adventurous, and therefore not that interesting. Was this a direct result of our ordering or the flavoring is up to the those that read this.
We came here with a group twice in the last few months.
Loved the food, especially:
- the apple pear walnut & stilton salad
- butternut squash & prosciutto salad
- lobster baked mac & cheese
- butternut squash ravioli
Loved the atmosphere and it's great for groups. Ironically however I expected to be more impressed with the wine both times. Once I ordered a flight of Pinot Noir, and another time we ordered a bottle of a cabernet & merlot blend (can't remember the name since this was the visit from months ago). The wines were good, but they didn't knock my socks off. Oh well, I still love this place and I'll be back to try out more food and wine.
Check out Mondays for half price on certain bottles of wine.
Pretty sufficient.
I took a trip to Purple with two of my female relatives and my best friend a few weekends ago. My house is nearly equidistant to all three locations, but we chose the Kirkland Purple over downtown because of parking. To summarize: Purple Café and Wine Bar was fabulous.
The Food: we were satisfied, surprised and generally well fed by the end of lunch. To be honest, I wasn't expecting a wine bar to serve REAL portions of food. The worst thing we had to say about any dish (the san marzano tomato) was that it was good - not great or interesting. Entrees are reasonably priced, though if you get cheese or dessert you'll start to feel the bill emotionally. I ordered the grilled wild salmon and thought it was delicious. My salmon was well cooked (I can be picky), the sauces were zesty (though there was a bit too much of the mustard aioli), the salad was refreshing (interesting without being imposing), and somehow my ciabatta roll didn't hurt to eat (this is a minor miracle - those rolls normally suck). I snuck bites of everyone's food and I give it a solid Sarah thumbs up.
The Wine: I've never been much of a red wine drinker despite the fact that I love wine. My best friend thought this was because I'd never had good red wine. Luckily for me, Purple has these great things called wine flights. Instead of paying for one full glass of wine, you pay for four smaller glasses (in terms of oz) along a theme. Based on the server's recommendation I tried the Pinot Noir flight. In the end I didn't like all of my glasses, but I did have a lot of fun trying them all and I think I've warmed to reds now. I'm not enough of a connoisseur in order to speak on their full wine list, but I do heartily recommend the flights as a great way to try new wines. You can taste variations on the theme and experience how wine of the same type and quality can actually be really different.
The Housewives of Kirkland: My one beef with Purple is not at all their fault. The Kirkland location had a crowd of middle aged women dressed like their middle school daughters. Seriously! At one point I thought I was watching an underage girl drink. Then she turned, I saw wrinkles and all became apparent. Now I'm not a super sexy fashionista with oodles of class to spare. If I went to the downtown location I'd have my fat ass put in the ugly people section by the hostess. Nevertheless, I'd like to think I at least don't put out a creepy middle-aged-7th-grade-chic... vibe... thing.
I would definitely recommend getting gift cards and then spending using those. You can get a good deal that way and then your spending habits are more indulgent - a perfect combo for a wine bar!
I completed the Purple trifecta. I've been to all three Purples in the area. And I have to say this one here in Kirkland is my least favorite.
First off the parking sucks! Second off the place is small, tiny and tables are on top of each other and placed in odd places. Our table was so close to the bar that our water bottle was almost knocked over a few times by cougars with BIG bags not paying attention to what they were doing. Third off their desert menu is not the same as the downtown one I wanted sea-salt caramels and/or the mint chocolate chip cheesecake ice cream and graham crunch but they had neither and nothing similar. =(
The food was ok, not as good as the downtown Purple but on par with Woodinville. I decided on a cup of their tomato basil soup and the apple, walnut and stilton salad. The soup tasted like Safeway's Signature Soups Tuscan Tomato Basil Bisque but with some red pepper flakes added to it, I wasn't that impressed. The salad wasn't bad it had lots apples and candied walnuts but was lacking in the stilton cheese, oh well.
The service was spotty, at first our server was good but when we decided we didn't want dessert he just assumed we didn't want any more wine and brought us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. This is a big no no in Mitzie's book but we took it as a sign and pay our check and headed to another wine bar for better service.
I was here for a client event and we were in the back room which was nice for a small gathering. The service was great as was the food and wine selection.
We ordered so many different appetizers I can't even remember what they were. I have to admit I like the Purple Wine Bar in Seattle much better. The atmosphere is nicer, more sophisticated, roomier but Kirkland is much more quaint so it depends on what you are looking for.
I just drank champagne (the French one on the menu) and was impressed overall by their selection of sparkling wines and wine menu.
Visited Purple about a month ago and had pretty good service. Our waitress didn't have the greatest knowledge about the wine menu but made up for it on the meals.
Sadly the one in downtown Seattle did not make the cut. We were placed at the table right at the base of the stairs and would've liked to see our lame server biff it on the way down.
Salut!
We went here for dinner when a mutual friend was in town and overall my impressions have been very positive. Our waiter was very entertaining and was able to suggest a couple very good bottles of wines over the course of the evening.
If you get the chance, start off with the Bacon-wrapped sea scallops with Huckleberry sauce (delicious!). The filet mignon is good here too. Overall, not much to add to the existing reviews, just wanted to give this restaurant some well deserved props.
Forget Red Robin or Cheesecake Factory! My girlfriends and I have deemed this our new spot to catch up and enjoy a delicious meal. Still blows us away every time.
We've tried something from each category on the menu, and have yet to be disappointed. From salads and sandwiches to various entrees and pizza, the food has been savory and memorable.
I highly recommend the apple, walnut, stilton salad, chicken marsala and the butternut squash prosciutto. And dessert of course ;)

A great place to kick back with your girlfriends and enjoy good conversation over amazing food. Come… Read more »
With quite the impressive wine selection I was equally impressed with the knowledgeable staff. The outdoor seating is ideal for the rare fine weather around this area. The appetizers were great. The calamari was served with an interesting teriyaki/honey/garlic dipping sauce that I found complex and intriguing. The wine flights were well assembled and well explained to us.
This place was a fine and sophisticated way of starting the evening off. Of course little did I know that after my pleasant early evening meal and beverage that I'd be going to one of the crappiest movie theaters in the city, (Kirkland Park Place) which was attended by the loudest most obnoxious crowd of old and fat people. I have nothing against old or fat people, just the ill mannered and publicly disrespectful ones.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to have a relaxed time with unique northwest food (and great wine selection). This location is a little loud but worth the trip.
Amazing food, that's for sure. Anything on their menu is delicious. I've tried pretty much everything and have not yet been disappointed.
The ambience here is LOUD. At night, it gets a bit dark as well, but I suppose that's to set a mood. Take a date here that's quiet and a bit ugly - you won't be able to see her or hear her - LOL! (I'm totally exaggerating).
Compare this to the downtown Seattle location and it's considerably better. The portions are a bit better and somehow, my bill always ends up being a bit cheaper in the Kirkland location. I guess I just pay for the location in Seattle.
Oh, the vanilla bean creme brulee is amazing.
Note: Plan on spending $100 or more? Drop by the local Costco and pick up their $100 gift card for only $80. That's a great way to cut down on the costs of the place.
Also, I'd suggest using http://www.opentable.com to book this place. Between OpenTable and calling the restaurant directly, you can usually find a last minute reservation (highly recommended).
The wine selection is awesome! It's pretty and I'm so happy they're able to stay in business. It's such a neat place to hang out. My one gripe about the place is the heavy furniture! I can barely move the chair toward the table once I sit in it.
The food has been great 95% of the time I've been there. The salads are wonderful. Sesame crusted ahi was deee-lish! Hubby had the swordfish special the other day for lunch and it was divine. I tried the BLTA that seemed a bit salty for my taste but it was great quality. The service is always excellent here!
A grand place to sit back and enjoy Kirkland, all while sippin some wine. I of course, for some reason, get tipsy a whole lot faster on wine, so I have to take it slow
Very fun times though!
Come here straight after work on a Friday night at the end of summer. As the heat of the day fades away and the sky turns to shades of wildfire, ask for a table outside and hope that you get seated in the section with the super cute waiter with the earrings and the expensive golden D&G glasses. He'll take good care of you.
Portions are kind of big too. Be prepared to eat well or take something home in a box. Their chopped salad was the surprise star of our meal. But overall the menu is strong. Perhaps not the best food around but you won't disappoint your important client, first date or your visiting in-laws. Especially if they're a wine lover. ;)
Purple may have multiple locations around Seattle but they haven't dumbed down the experience. It was bliss to just sit outside and watch Kirkland pass you by. Be careful when trying to find this place on Google Maps though. It is in the Kirkland Parkplace Mall, just east of Peter Kirk Park. It is NOT on Park Lane. See: http://tinyurl.com/5r43bv
I have a new favorite restaurant on the Eastside! Purple Cafe was recommended by a friend who lives nearby, so we dropped by for dinner one night while I was in town. The space, ambiance, service-- all good. The food-- excellent. Actually, this was the best meal I've had in quite some time. I ordered a stuffed chicken special served with vegetables and polenta. It was incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned and excellent in every regard. My husband had the pork tenderloin with cranberry chutney which he loved, as well. For dessert we shared the brownie parfait, which was more parfait than brownie, but creamy and wonderful. The salted caramel sauce was my favorite part.
Also, two thumbs up for an extensive wine list and servers who actually know the list and can make competent recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc I ordered.
Our table was a little closer to the table next to us than I would have liked. I had to listen to a couple of very irritating girls go on about boys and purses, which made me want to crack my wine bottle over their heads. This was the only negative aspect of our experience at Purple and we will most definitely return.
I come here when I want a treat, or when my parents want to take me out to dinner, since it's their favorite restaurant in Kirkland. I would have to say, it's mine too!
There have been times when the service has been lacking - I will admit that. But their wine list is great, their food is always good and plentiful, and if you're willing to wait, it's generally worth it since they don't really take reservations.
Last week I came here again with my parents for my birthday dinner with them. I had the daily risotto and OMG - it was so succulent! I was glad that I could only eat half of it so that I could save the rest for lunch the next day (which tasted good reheated, btw).
My step-mom had her standard seared ahi - it's her favorite dish. I had some of it and the ahi just melted in my mouth it was so tender! Even my dad's purple chop salad was good, though I thought the dressing was a little too saturating and a little too acidic for my taste.
I haven't been to the downtown location yet, but between this location and the one in Woodinville, this is my favorite every time!
I've been here a few times and the food is pretty good. I had the butternut squash and proscuitto salad which had great flavor. The wine selections are also good, but the wine list isn't 100% accurate. I had asked for a french red from the Languedoc region listed under merlot, only to have the waiter bring it to me and see the label said it was from California. The service is where this place is lacking. I was brought food but had to ask for a fork and a napkin. It took forever to place our orders and forever to pay our check. I recommend going there in the summer when it's nice and warm and it's not a big deal when you sit outside waiting for a server.
Boy, I really like this place. Somebody put some serious thought into making sure all the little things were taken care of. (Ex: I sat facing a wall but some smart person had put a mirror on the wall that was tilted so I could see the rest of the restaurant)
What I had:
- Pinot Noir wine flight - Not bad but all 3 wines tasted very similiar. Would have been nice for some variety.
- Misc cheeses - good but pricy
Went here on a date night. We just had appetizer and wine but overall it was a nice evening. Can get a little crowded and is a little too trendy for us but we went after 9 and that was nice.
The Purple bandwagon passed me up awhile ago. As much as I desired to check it out (especially the downtown location) something else always came up. My wife snags the many unused gift cards we are lucky to receive, goes to Purple often and brings it up in conversation regularly.
We had some time this weekend, around 5:00pm. I found parking! That's worthy of a star or two by itself.
If we are what we eat and drink, the "oddball reds" selection are perfect for me. I greatly enjoyed the glass pour of Delille Doyenne Six that was generously poured. The caramel goat cheese appetizer was memorable.
The missing fifth star is not Purple's fault. It's my friends and contacts. They hyper-ventilate about the interior aesthetic. Now that I've been there, I ask everyone So What? If they added ferns it would be Berkeley in 1977 all over again.
I'm a grouch today, sorry. Purple is lovely.
Always double check your bill.
My past two experiences at Purple (both Seattle and Kirkland have been terrible). I've never found the waitstaff to be above average, but they've been AWFUL my past two trips, overbilling me each occasion and not making much effort to fix the situation.
The first - the waitress acknowledged she knew there was an extra $15 glass of wine on my bill but didn't bother to remove it.
Second - I was offered a substitute (by the waiter) of sweet potato fries to the standard salad that comes with the entree (after handing menu to waiter) but not told that the fries are a $3 surcharge. I hadn't bothered to read the fine print on the menu, and likely wouldn't have referenced that anyway. When I made the server aware that I had not been told there was an incremental charge for the substitute, he simply responded, "I probably didn't explain that well." Well? Not at all. And no offer to credit the tab.
Sadly, there was no effort to correct mistakes and put the customer first. The food is typically good, the desert menu is even better and the wine selection very strong, but these no longer make up for the poor customer experience.
The food was 3-4 stars- some dishes were awesome (the raviolo app with beets, the baked brie app, both fantastic!), some not so much (the pizza was just 'meh', the bacon-wrapped scallops with port reduction just tasted like bacon).
They have a ton of different wine flights to choose from, which is awesome. We had a couple of those and really enjoyed what we tasted.
Service was okay, nothing special. And everyone else is right about the tables- SUPER close together.
Overall, a nice experience with *some* really good food, but I don't know if I'll be back.
this place is awesome
good wine selection, without all the typical pretentious wine connoisseurs (sp?). try the lobster mac and cheese.
A social group I organize decided to meet at the Purple Cafe in Kirkland for dinner and drinks. I called ahead for reservations indicating I would have 5-7 guests. The person on the phone indicated their policy is reservations for 6 or more, but that they would make the reservation for me anyway.
I arrived 30 minutes early expecting to wait until my group arrived, but they seated me right away at their large group table. The server came over a short time later and took a drink order and brought bread, and guests arrived over the next 30 minutes - a total of 8.
Service throughout the evening was excellent! The server knew the menu and wines very well and was able to easily offer suggestions for both. He did a great job of making sure we were satisfied without being a nag or bother - a dying art.
Food was pretty good. I had the Mediterranean pizza, sans cheese and it was tasty - though not the best I've had (Tutta Bella is my fav). I also had the "spreads" appetizer with the non-dairy spreads and that was satisfying, as well.
For wine, I started with the Water Wheel "oddball", then ordered the "old world" wine flight with dinner. The server brought me the "oddball" flight, instead, but I went with it. Along with the wine came a handy card with the names of the wines so I could remember them later - a nice touch. The wine menu is extensive and well-organized with lots of bite-sized blobs of interesting facts about the types of wine. There's a full glossary in the back of the menu, as well.
Overall, the food is good, wine selection is excellent and prices reasonable. And Purple Cafe is one of those rare places that understands who pays their bills - happy patrons.
Purple Cafe & Wine Bar is a welcome surprise in the middle of a giant shopping center that includes a TGI Fridays, a QFC, and an Original Pancake House. Off to the side of the parking lot, and next to the lovely Ravenna Gardens is a great place to grab a glass of wine or four.
Four glasses of wine is really what you should opt for since that is what constitutes their creative wine flights, and they are relatively small pours, equal to about 2 full glasses of wine. The 'Bold Yet Elegant" is a sure fire good choice for trying out a few different red wines, however I like trying either the "Off the Beaten Path" or the "Teethstainer" flight to really push my palate.
Their small plates are really big plates. Pair a few of these with the flight of your choosing and you have a meal. The crab cakes and calamari were better than expected, but it was really their baked brie that blew me away and made me eat well past the point of being full and straight into stuffed!
They don't have any sort of happy hour which makes me sad, but since they don't charge a corkage fee I still respect them after my four glasses of wine.
The bar at Cafe Purple is the place to dine solo for the Kirkland epicure. A friendly, attractive staff, moderate pricing, and cornucopia of inexpensive wines by the glass make this the default hangout for a large cadre of regulars. I wish they had a few more expensive wines by the glass a la Daniel's but apparently it's not economical.
Don't miss the hidden best thing on the menu, a grilled salmon or flank steak added to any of the salads (I prefer the Apple, Walnut, and Stilton).
This place is busy every night and my only regret is it's closed Sundays.
First off, please see my review for the Purple Cafe in Woodinville (*****), which is superior. They are very similar, with nearly identical menus. So what are the differences?
Well in Woodinville, the food is always great. Here, it's usually great but not consistently. I've had great food, and I've had so-so food. For example, my favorite salad here is the apple, pear, walnut and stilton salad. But in Kirkland you can count on the apples & pears to be somewhat mushy about half the time.
Also they don't do reservations while Woodinville does. And Woodinville is much easier to deal with if you want to host a group, trust me!
But overall still a fine place. Especially if you get lucky.
This is one of my new favorite spots - along with their sister location in Woodinville.
Great atmosphere, great service, fantastic wine selection and gourmet food.
I especially enjoy the daily specials they offer. This location offered 1/2 price bottle of wine with the purchase of $25 in food on Mondays - The Woodinville location offers this same deal on Sundays.
The open air on a nice day is lovely!
Went here today for lunch. The waiter was friendly without being too solicitous. I ordered one of the wine flights, and he did a handwritten list of the four varieties, and gave a complete rundown on the details of them. The food (we both got salads) was ample and well-done. Overall, a fine experience, especially for an Eastside mall place.
extra bonus for being open for weekend lunch-
Good wine, good appetizers - but do yourself a favor: Go to the one in Woodinville. You'll avoid the hard surfaces (read: WHAT? I CAN"T HEAR YOU ACROSS THE TABLE) and the new-Kirkland yuppies.
Once in Woodinville, try a flight. Just drink them in order: they're always delicate to bold.
