Punch's alley has delicious beer on tap. It's $3 and the bar tenders are waaaaay cute!

I find it quite odd that Punch's is on Yelp. But I'm not concerned because there is no way anyone could locate it without asking the police or some random girl on campus wherein you would immediately be labeled a creepster and probably flagged for removal. So please, unless you're invited, don't go bumbling around campus searching for the 'sexy and sleek' Wellesley pub, there's no neon sign and no singles night. In case you don't know if I'm talking to you I made this handy list.
If don't fit into one of these categories, you probably shouldn't be at Punch's Alley on any given night.
A) A Wellesley student.
B) A Wellesley alum less than 35yr old, single, and a les.
C) A college student from MIT/Harvard/BU/Brandeis/BC/Berklee etc who came to campus for a reason other than the pub and then found himself/herself there by happenstance.
D) A boyfriend/girlfriend/friend of a Wellesley student, with an invite to meet them at the pub.
E) A musician with a gig at Punch's Alley.
F) A guest lecturer or attendee at a lecture/movie/panel discussion that took place on campus and you're there only before 9pm.
G) A campus employee who just wants a quick drink before heading home.
That should pretty much sum it up. I'm not an anti-man or anti-visitors, but for serious - Punch's is not the spot to be unless you're wearing sweats and fresh off a 12 hour caffeine filled library sesh. I'm only a couple years out and there is no way I'd go there. I wish I didn't have to assign stars to it - it's more like 5 stars if you fit into the list above and 0 if you don't. -

+1 for the funky, if not trendy, red decor
-1 for the funky, if not trendy, red decor (I feel like I'm in a menstruating room... REDRUM, anyone??)
+1 for plenty of dark corners for, you know, dark deeds...
+1 for the good selection of beers
-1 for the lack of mixed alcoholic drinks! what??!
+2 for being the only place on campus to (legally) purchase alcohol
+1 for being a great place to hang out with friends (and professors on a lucky night), catch a live concert, or watch and yell at that idiot Vincent on Project Runway.
-1 for the name. "Punch's" Alley. Seriously.
Does that add up to 4 stars? Whatever. Another point for being next to The Hoop, where you can buy nachos, candy, and nutella sandwiches to curb your hunger pains. -

Thought it'd be fun to review the pub on campus.
The decor is pretty amazing, in my opinion. Sleek and red, it's sexy without being too girly. And it's convenient location, a 5-minute walk, 3-minute run down the hill, beats everything.
Bottles of beer are $3 and so are the ones on tap, I believe. A great place to hang out with friends, regardless of whether they're 21 or not, especially since they have a large flatscreen TV with more cable channels than found everywhere else on campus. The size is small and intimate, great if you actually want to hear your friends talking. If you don't, then maybe you shouldn't be friends with 'em. -

OK, so it's on the Wellesley campus ... but everybody needs a good place to go, especially if you're at an Ivy League. Or visiting your kid at an Ivy League. Punch's Alley mayn't have the top shelf wine list, but they do have wine and decent beers and room to bust a move while the DJ spins them. They are even halfway welcoming to those above the age of 25. Bartender is great.

I went to this spot with my room mate and another buddy and we were expecting to just hang and drink a bit. Heard about the place from my cousin who came here with his buddy Mark last year even though they are in their middle years, so I was curious to see if it would be cool. Nope...lit up brighter than any bar or anything this side of a doctors exam room. We did'nt even walk in, we just stood outside and discussed options and after a couple of minutes left. It has potential, if you want to sit there and count your friends nose hairs, this is the place...
