Should I out myself?

I'm the girl that attended their grand opening a few years ago and spilled my entire glass of red wine all over the brand new white carpeting.  If the selection wasn't so good, I might never step foot back in this store.  But the goods (and the sales) are too amazing to miss.  I adore this cute little boutique.  Since I'm a regular at the Starbucks next door, I love to stop in on my way to getting a cup of tea.

If you are on their mailing list, they have all sorts of fun private events.

I walked into pump while I was on my way to meet a friend at Via. Oh, how I loved it! The shoes were so cute, and the owner was great. I ended up getting a pair of pewter metallic sandals, and she put a couple of extra holes in the strap for me, so that the ankle straps weren't too loose.  Some of the stuff in here was a little pricey, but it was all cute.

Pump made me realize I'm going to love this neighborhood.

I love Pump!  I live close to this store which is dangerous -- I want everything in it.  Maureen, the owner, is such a doll.  Seriously the cutest ever -- I see from all the reviews that everyone else loves her too!

She has some great accessories -- and also carries Spanx (which is great if you don't have the time nor want to deal with the hassle of going all the way to Nordstrom).

Pump has a great mix of mid-priced and higher end-priced shoes.  When Pump has a sale -- it's usually a very good one.  Go in and check it out -- you'll find something you love there I'm sure!

Yay! Pump!

Pump has a great selection - no pair of shoes I saw were shockingly expensive, and all were amazing-looking.

The thing that impresses me the most is how Pump caters to a wide age range. I'm in my mid-twenties, and I've shopped at Pump alongside women in their fifties and teenage girls. The woman I assume is the owner knows her customers personally - I've seen her call a customer by name when they walk in the door and then immediately suggest a pair of shoes that the customer loves (and subsequently buys). That's really rare, and it's really cool.

I just started shopping here despite living within walking distance for over a year, and I've already gotten three great pairs of shoes! I love Pump!

I absolutely love this store!!!
The owner is AMAZING! She knows her stuff and will give you the most honest opinion at all times.

A lot of the shoes come from a lot of rising designers that we all may have seen on the popular television show 'Off the Runway" (I think thats the name). I love PUMP because you will NEVER see anyone w/ your shoes on and the prices are always reasonable and worth the purchase!

Don't miss her sales because they ROCK!!!

A shoe boutique for the babe on a budget, Maureen stocks her shop with all kinds of designers - Cocobelle to Charles David, Betsy Johnson to Sam Edelman, Seychelles, Fornarina + many more.

She's definitely got a flair for finding the fun stuff and Pump is choc-full of colorful finds, no-name handbags, and all kinds of accessories.

I spied one ridiculous hot pair of shoes and recommend making at least one trip out to Pump each season because you'll most likely find something great to give major update to your wardrobe for less than $200.

As an owner of a small shop myself, I really appreciate when someone else has weeded through the craptacular stuff out there and put together a well-edited range of options for my buying pleausre.

Pump offers a beautifully curated story of on-trend footwear for all price points and personal styles.  Being on my feet a lot, I lean toward flats and low wedges with rounded uppers, and have always found one or two pairs of shoes that not only are supercomfy, but absolutely adorable as well.  In fact, I just received a compliment on a pair of shoes I bought there YEARS ago, so the quality of the merchandise is also superior.

Also, the accessories are just delicious -- there's always a fun pair of earrings to be had, and there's lots of  kicky purses and flowy scarves to go with your new shoes too.

Maureen, the owner, is a lovely love and takes excellent care of her customers.  She opened Pump after many years of experience in women's footwear, and her personal warmth is matched only by her professional expertise.

One caveat -- larger sizes do tend to sell out, and of course any shoe sized on a European grade will run a bit smaller.  But that's the curse of having size 10 feet and wacky toes.  Stupid size ten feet!  Stupid wacky toes!

If you're around Wicker Park/Ukie Village, definitely pop into Pump!

Holy mid-priced shoe boutique, Batman!

OMG, I like totally found the holy grail of mid-priced shoes.  I don't think I'm at a point where I deserve to buy myself $400 shoes (but others may, if they so much desire), but I can surely justify shoes in the ~$100 range.

Can't wait to wear my nude, patent leather, strappy ,wedges!...biotches.

Pump is what every boutique should be.
I guess it's kind of weird to write a review for a store I didn't buy anything from but the owner was so amazing that I just have to. I stopped there in November with my friend on my quest for wedding shoes (which ended a mere 18 hours before the big day. Yep, nerve-racking). There was a large selection of lovely shoes and to-die-for boots but nothing that would remotely resemble something I would wear as a bride. I am not talking about  these ugly DIY (dye it yourself) ubiquitous bridal shoes, Gosh no, but just a closed pump with a decent size heel (I was actually dreaming about Victorian boots with long shoelaces but quickly had to give up on the idea....impossible to find in my price range). I was still marveling on all their leather goodies and all their wonderful accessories while quickly gauging how much money I had available for impulsive and useless buys when the owner kindly asked me what I was looking for. I told her about my frantic search and she immediately told me that she didn't think I could find what I wanted in her store. At least not for now. But we went chatting with one of her customers and they suggested all the places that I could check out for shoes. She even gave me the exact addresses of some of them!! She was incredibly helpful!! I couldn't believe that a business owner would send me to other people so genuinely. I loved her attitude, her great smile and her kindness. I can't wait to go back - and this time actually buy something!!!

I love flats. I caught myself gasping a few times in this store at the cute-ass flats. OMG they are cute.
But I think this store is still a little expensive yo. I spent $155 on two pairs of flats when they were both 20% off. I am poor, I guess. b-o-o-h-o-o for me.

I really like Pump. After many an agonizing hour searching downtown department for work shoes I could wear without feeling like a 50-year-old drone, I found exactly what I was looking for at Pump. Many times over. While I search for something sensible yet fun, my best friend goes in and finds sky-high heels and trendy strappy shoes. In short, the selection is really well-chosen and thoughtful.

Things do sell out quickly, and at certain times of the year the inventory changes fast, so it's worth stopping in a lot. (Something I don't mind.) Given that this means you'll have shoes that don't look like everyone else's, I think it's a plus.

The prices aren't particularly high--it's no PayLess, but you can easily find shoes for under the $100 mark.

And the service is GREAT. I am not particularly hip, and I went in after a particularly grumpy and bad-outfit day, yet I got amazing help without the slightest blink from the really sweet and eager-to-please owner.

Bottom line is that I like Pump because I hate wasting endless amounts of time in pricey pricey downtown department stores desperate to pay someone whatever it takes to buy decent shoes I like and failing. At Pump, I am pretty much guaranteed to find something that makes me happy, even if it isn't what I went in looking for, and I walk away with a smile and a pretty small dent in my pocketbook.

And great shoes.

usually I wouldn't give a shoe store 5 stars if i had been shopping there for 2 years and had not bought any shoes...but pump is an exception.

even tho i've never bought a pair of shoes at pump i HAVE bought plenty of accessories. My favorite earrings, scarf, and my new favorite ring have all come from there....and i love the selection and style of the place. One of my good friends is a regular customer there and has tons of beautiful shoes and i see why she keeps on coming back because the service is great.

Love, love, love this store and I'm not even a shoe freak. As others have said, the owner is wonderful and joy to kibbitz with... and she has great taste. I've often seen the same styles at Nordstrom and strongly encourage people to buy them here instead, supporting our local businesses.

I hope to support this one again just as soon as I can justify the $100+ for the cutest little pony hair pumps you've ever seen! Everybody keep their hands off the size 6...

LOVE this place. Just wondered in today, and not only did they have super cute shoes that you would have a hard time finding in other places, they also have the coolest accessories. Like, super cute bags that are truly unique and great jewelry. I wouldn't say that this place has a huge selection, but what they DO have is awesome. Shoes range from about $60-$150 for most pairs, depending on what you get. There were only a few for $60, most were between $90 and $150. The jewelry pieces were not that bad, either. I found a great necklace that I want (I'm holding out since my birthday is next month :) ), for 50 bucks.

I love that Pump is down the street from me. Great store, and the owner is cute, and she's always wearing cute shoes from the store.

Shoes galore! and cute ones at that. It was a tad pricey for the labels that they sold. But maybe Im the only one that hasnt heard of a lot of them. The girls though there were awesome as well. Well-dressed, cute shoes of course. But I think I quickly got over the prices and bought the cutest flats. They are so comfortable and great quality. if youre looking to shop for shoes that are both unique but will still fit in with chicago culture then pump will probably have what you want...

I love how I had just finished getting off the phone talking to my friend about how I need to stop shopping, and had admitted to buying 3 pairs of shoes over the weekend.  Of course, I see this place and couldn't hold myself back.  They have a great selection of shoes here, all in which are very comfortable and show-stopping.  I love the selection of boots here especially.  I wish I had more money to blow on shoes, but the last weekend had done me in.  They have a variety of designers ranging from Seychelles, Charles David, Via Spiga, and more.  They also had a trunk show going on and had an interesting selection of hand bags.  They also had some appetizers and wine set out too.  The service is pretty friendly, and they know their clientele.  It would be hard for me to come back here without having any coupons or not having a sale.

Loved the fun selection of unique footwear and accessories.  For those of you who want to stray away from the norm of department stores, Pump will definitely your desire.  Prices are pretty reasonable - although the necklace of my dreams was a overpriced (of course).  Store owner is adorable and knowledgeable about her gear.

Pump will be your very favorite place to shop if you love shoes and top notch service.  The owner might be the sweetest, cutest person in the world, she is fun, friendly and infinitely patient.  And, she's got stellar taste in shoes!  She also showcases accessories, mostly from local artists.  Get on her email list and you will soon receive invitations to events like the annual shoe-per-bowl!!
