Dr. Adam Szpindor and his staff treated my 16 year old chihuahua in her last few years of life. These are the most compassionate and caring group of professional people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Dr. Adam did everything possible to make Cookie comfortable and pain free during her last few weeks with me. Everyone that worked with Cookie gave her love and affection. I could not have asked for anything more from a vet and will continue to visit Pulaski Animal Hospital in the future with any pets I may have.
Thank you Dr. Adam and everyone else at Pulaski Animal Hospital.
I'm not sure cheap is correct, but prices are neighborhood competitive. All doctors are the best. One of the founders of this place was Dr. ??, who was the chief vet for Chicago's Animal Control until he died. They now take appointments.
In searching for an inexpensive vet in the Chicago area I was referred to Pulaski Animal Hospital. I was somewhat apprehensive, having had no personal referral, and it is really far from where I live. However, prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is very caring, conscientious and thorough in their care and they do great work! They also don't try to sell you on unnecessary treatment or services and treat you and your furry friend with respect and care.
I took my cat in to get some dental work done, and it was about half the cost of what my previous vet charges. Sure, it is far from where I live, but well worth the drive. I saw Dr. Szpindor, who was very warm and kind and honest about my pet's needs. He also gave me an estimate up front without batting an eye (the other Chicago vet I've used seems to think that money is no object - when asking for estimates on services and treatment I get the impression that I am committing a faux-pas).
Highly recommended to anyone in the Chicago area looking for a reasonably-priced, good quality veterinarian's office.
Lets see I had recently got a dog a lil 6lbs poodle mix i didnt really know her breed i didnt know her age if she had her shots nothing so i found this place by searching on Yelp for good vets in my area and this hospital came with such good reviews i decided to check it out i had only had my dog for 24hrs but wanted to make sure that she was healthy and vaccinated so i took lil "Honey Diva" (we call her Honey for short) here and they were very nice i didnt have an appointment i did a saturday walk in as soon as they opened at 9am Honey was seen quite quickly they were able to give me an estimate on what her age was and they gave her all her shots her doctor was very nice and friendly and informative Honey now has a Veterinarian home :) she saw Dr. Deb Teachout she was wonderful and extremely nice to Honey Diva and the prices were reasonable to.
This was my second visit here, and it was GREAT, at least for me it was, I don't think Nippers and I share the same warm feelings about the place. The staff is super nice and the doctors are even nicer. I could tell they cared about the animals and was pleased they were equally loving to both dogs and cats. (I.E Nippers the cat). Prices were very reasonable and the place was as clean as I would expect a veterinarians office. No offensive smells. Aside from being fussy from the pain, my cat was very comfortable with the staff. Its a bit of a drive for me but I think I've found his permanent vets office.
P.S Dr. Szpindor is an kind doctor. He told me exactly what was wrong with my cat without trying to dump a million procedures into our pockets, and he answered all questions honestly and politely.
Love this place!! I've probably seen all the vets there, and they are all very nice. I have a chihuahua who is very nervous, and doesnt really like other people. The vets are very understanding and they talk to him and calm him down.
One time he got this bump on his butt (his anal gland was swollen) and i took him like 15min before they closed and they still took him in, and did surgery and everything. I also told the vet that i wasnt financially prepared, so i didnt know if i would be able to pay everything that night. She was so understanding and allowed me to go on a payment plan.
Also when i got him nuetered they recommended i go to PAWS because it was cheaper. So they not only care about animals but they care about the owners too.
Chachis has been going there since he was born(he's now 3) and they are still awesome. I would definitly recommend this place!
Can't say enough positive things about this great veterinary clinic. I have seen seven or eight vets over the years for my many cats and none has earned my loyalty and trust the way Pulaski Animal Hospital has. The clean and tidy waiting room has a cozy feeling, and pet owners usually end up chatting and admiring each other's animals. Receptionists are friendly and professional. Service is first-come, first-served. You can request a doctor or see the next one who is free. I always ask for Dr. Adam Szpindor, who patiently listens to me, thoroughly explains diagnosis and treatment, and is kind and gentle with my pets. Everyone who works there seems to really love their jobs and love animals. No hard-sell for costly high-tech tests or procedures although the latest treatments are available. Cost is very reasonable. I'm not a South Side resident anymore, but this place is worth the trip in from the 'burbs.
