The structure is indeed dreary. It should be avoided by businessmen.
A smokey haze engulfs anyone unwise to enter. Barstaff can be quite rude and often are. Better gay clubs to go to are JRS. Hidden Door (blue collar) Round up.
The Pub is NOT for white collar or even blue collar people.
I have been part of the gay "scene" for quite a while, and Pub Pegasus has always been a quiet, neighborhood bar with lots of great characters, with lots of great stories. They recently have added wifi, free for customers, and have redecorated. I have thoroughly enjoyed this place, and it was a regular weekly place to meet my friends. I felt so much a part of this place, that last year at Xmas, I brought a gallon of my homemade chicken enchilada soup in, to share with my friends during our annual gift exchange, and had plenty to share with everyone in the bar. They all enjoyed it, and it really seemed to hit the spot for a lot of people.
Recently, Russell, stopped working there,(not his decision, b/c he was a great guy), and some punk named Mark is working there. He was out on the patio smoking when i pulled up, and I didn't even know he wasn't a customer. He starts in, "oh, I love your car. I think they're so neat! " Then he starts pulling up and down repeatedly, on my cars door handles like he's 8 years old! I go inside, find a seat to order and wait for my friend to order, and he comes inside, and HE'S THE FRICKIN' BARTENDER!!!! I remarked that I never suspected he was the bartender, b/c he wasn't mature enough to "play with the grownups". The night went on, and my friend and I had equal numbers of drinks. He had mixed drinks at $5.50 each and I drank Miller Lite, domestic beer. In the end, the tab was $61.00! My friend drank 6 drinks at 5.50 each or approx. 31.00. If we drank the same number of drinks, then my tab for my 6 beers was 31.00? That means that "Mark" charged me $5.50 each for domestic beers? He's a ripoff artist, and doesn't know how to take care of customers. Call the bar in advance and find out who's working when you go. If it's Mark, go somewhere else, or be rich enough to afford to be ripped off. Oh, yeah, he bitched about the lack of tip, on top of everything else. The only reason I gave this place a single star, (b/c of Mark), is b/c this site doesn't allow for a 1/2 star rating. If you're reading this, and you're one of the bars patrons/ or an owner, get rid of Mark!!!!!
I was always intrigued by this once dreary looking pub randomly placed smack dab in the middle of Fitzhugh ave. One evening I was driving by on my way home and decided to stop in. To my surprise, it was quite the friendly crowd with a nice jukebox. It seems to attract a specific crowd of regulars but also seemed to welcome strangers. They have since spruced up the joint.
