I came here on a Thursday night because my friend lived right across the street from Pub Fiction and was craving a drink. So we hiked our way (okay, maybe not hike, but hey, I'm a little out of shape) across the street and into the bar. The place wasn't very crowded inside because it was a little early, maybe around 9:00pm when we arrived, but most of the crowd were sitting on the patio.

We took our seats at the bar that's located immediately to your right as you enter. I think we must have barely made happy hour before it ended, because our drinks didn't cost very much. I give major props to the bartender because I had no idea what I wanted, but I knew I wanted something fruity. She concocted a pretty darn good cocktail that fit the bill.

While my friend and I talked, I couldn't help but to tune him out every now again due to the music. Now growing up when MTV first came on the air, I knew nearly all the songs played (which amazed me because I hadn't heard them in so long). I asked the bartender about the music and was told we came in on their 80's night, how cool! My only complaint is the variety was very lacking, no Jets, Janet Jackson, Debarge or the likes, just straight 80's pop & rock.

We didn't stay long enough to hear the band play, but I still had a great time. I will go back again during the week sometime because I liked the laid-back atmosphere.

Douchewear is not required, per se, but is apparently highly encouraged. The amount of sideways caps and affliction shirts you'll see on any given night ranges from shrugworthy to disturbing.

Last time I went, the place was not nearly as crowded as I'd seen it before, which worked out pretty well. Service was better, and the crowd was a little less irritating. The only problem was the 9 dollar HOUSE whiskey. I didn't even order brand. I don't get the notion of paying a premium for a place like this. Worst of all, bars like this have encroached on Washington Ave.

There are you regular sports bars and then there is pub fiction.

This place has a great atmosphere, but the "bouncers" suck!

I mean the food is good and the drink specials are good, but if you are a fan looking for a place with TVs at every corner this is your type of place, but the bouncers still sux.

It was the night of UT vs TX A&M and i had khaki cargo pants on with a TX A&M jersey on, normal attire for a sports bar, and the jerk of bouncer goes "you cant go in without a collared shirt"  I was like HUH???

So needless to save i found a target on my gps and went and purcahsed a polo shirt, i didnt want to go back because i was ticked off, but 12 of my friends were there and i wanted to hang with them.  I went back and went in and what did i see ???? people wearing jerseys, so i went back to the bouncer and asked why he told me that and he was like "because i said so"  ... damn racist ... it's becuase im "brown" ... so i hope one day when that bouncer's mother, father, chil, wife, girlfriend or anyone close, needs a life saving surgery or anything, there's a Dr Patel or Shah or any foreign doctor that doesnt want to operate on them, because "they said so"

needless to say, i went back 5 months later and the new bouncer there told me that the other guy got fired ...

The peeps: When I was there it was mid 20's to late 30's, everyone was attractive and the ratio of men to women was about 50/50. Granted on any given night such things could be different.

The food: I am pretty sure I was not stoned so I think its fair for me to say those wings where friggin great

The Volume: Unlike most places that have a musical performance that ends any and all conversations to an impossible shouting match with the musical performer here we could hear him great and have our conversations at the same time.

Overall: I dont care much for sports bars but this place I like it didnt really even feel like a sports bar.

OK... So I guess someone beat me to the punch when they said that this place is a 5 on weeknights and a 3 on weekends. That's very true. I have always had fun every time I go there during weeknights. The specials are good. I went there last Tuesday and they had specials on beer pitcher and 1/2 price foods until 10PM.  The bar staff is friendly as well as the HH crowd. There is plenty of space to walk around and just chill.

Weekends are another story altogether. I went there only one weekend and this place can get packed. I waited for about an hour to get in. It was almost closing time (1am) by the time I was able to make it in. The door man was very unfriendly. Now, I make it a point to talk to doormen all the time and they loosen up when they realize you're a friendly person. But This guy just didn't. I heard that the same person who owns this place also owns Ei8gt on Washington. And I got a similar vibe from the guys there. So maybe this is management related??you know how it flows downhill.

Their 25oz beers are the specialty during the weeknights. They recommend it over the pitcher. The patio area is a cool place to relax but its hard to get service over there. On a Sunday I had no problem but last Tuesday I couldn't get anyone pay attention to our table. There was only one girl working that area so We just went to the bar and got the beer.

I have never been here to watch the game. So I cant comment too much on the TVs etc but there were tons of them running the gamut of different games. During weekends the music gets loud and this turns into just another loud club. But thats what draws int the crowds.

Parking is not a problem. On weeknights there is parking on the side as well as the Spec's parking lot. Weekends the Spec's parking lot tends to get full sooner rather than later.

Special mention here about pub fiction and the Houston Sunday Funday tradition. This is a  the starting spot if you're doing the Sunday Funday route. There are free burgers and hot dogs with fixings on Sundays until 9pm. Don't forget to tip the guy cooking it. I enjoy coming here to chill on Sundays.

Overall I would say that this is a great chill spot during weeknights. Definitely a first date spot. Weekends though its iffy.

Nope - I didn't like Pub.
Maybe it's because I'm new to the city - well, actually even the country - and am not aware of was is cool here and what not.
Or maybe I'm just too Euro and don't like a place that has more TV screens than I can count.

There seems to be much talk about strict bouncers - but this certainly was not my experience. Far from that: they could have been a bit more picky...

Anyway - I didn't really like the place; it's not a pub, not a club, not a bar. It's a big room, I give it that - but with limited charm. Not rough, not classy - nothing really.

But I still give it 2 stars; for one simple reason: as I don't have a TV at home, this would certainly be a good place to see a game of Soccer/ Baseball/ Basketball (whatever) and drink way too much beer with the lads.

Other than that I fail to see a good reason to go again.

I had heard of this place before I moved to Houston and had been wanting to check it out. I'm a fan. The people were all ridiculously nice. If someone bumped into me, they immediately apologized for it. One guy just started talking up a storm when in line for the bathroom.

We were here last night for the National Championship Game. It was packed and so we had to stand the whole time. I was hoping to get some food while we drink some beers and watch the game. I didn't realize this place was so happening. Even though we were standing, we did have a waitress. She was polite but our drinks weren't coming to us lighting fast, but can't blame her. She was busy and running her ass off.

We stood by the front door and were able to see all the TVs. Then a little later the cart full of beer and the beer girl kind of took over part of our section. She was extremely friendly and talked to us for a little bit.

I read reviews and people were complaining about the door guys. They were cool when we were there. Since we couldn't get a table to get food, we decided to go next door but left out tab open at Pub. We told the door guy and he told us to come back and he'd let us right in. Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed next door and we quickly returned. As he said he would, he let us right in with no problems. We had to eat standing.

Another plus was that this place was cheap. For 2 sandwiches and enough beers to make buddy and I pretty tipsy, the total was only $65. In CA, that would be the price for one person at a bar similar to this one. I don't know how much the beers were individually, but they couldn't have been that much for such a little bill.

My only complaint was that I feel for such a large spot, they should knock down the wall separating the other side and take down the partition separating the bar seating area from the other seating area. It would be way better if they just opened it up more and then it wouldn't seem so packed with people and seats.

All in all, it was fun and I'd totally return. If I go back to watch a game though, I'm getting there way earlier to get a table.

I just want to say that in my drinking rounds on Saturday, I mentioned this place over and over again, yet couldn't go because I had on what they perceived as gym shoes the last time I went. The simple fact that I wanted to spend money drinking in a place, and couldn't, because I had on polo sneakers is retarded. I understand it's the rules, but I'm glad I can vent about it here. Shoes. I couldn't buy beer in your bar because of my shoes? Not my du rag, not my gold grill, blinged out medallion, or the bevy of gangster g's I roll with (I have none of those items btw) but because I woke up on an 80 degree day and decided to wear shorts and sneakers.

It's dumb. Just my opinion. And I'm mad as hell cause I actually WANTED to go there. Luckily, Flying Saucer took my cashola just fine, gym shoes and all. And wtf is up with the door guys? Who are you trying to keep out. I watched them the time I went before and they are assholish to everyone. Male, female, blk, white, didn't matter. They gave everyone the look. You know the look. I'm so freakin irritated with this place... Especially when the very same dude that says I can't get in because of my shoes, is WEARING DIRTY SNEAKERS!! Wtf... Crap like that just makes my eye twitch.

Pub never fails when I'm looking to have a good time, be it to watch a game or just meet friends to catch up over some beers. Like others say, avoid the weekends unless you want to encounter long lines and a club-like scene, which isn't that bad. The music is dance-worthy and they even offer bottle service.

Weekdays, however, I highly suggest. Monday nights offer half-priced menu specials. If you take ANYTHING from this review, please let it be my suggestion to order Pub's nachos. The nachos, oh, the nachos! This mountainous display of crispy tortilla chips, refried beans, shredded lettuce, tomatoes ... cheese--the cheese is the best ever. It never hardens. If you're in a smaller group, do the half order. Like I said, this is huge! Kitchen closes at 10pm, too. Also on Mondays: $6 domestic pitchers, $3 Jager and Tuaca shots, and $2 wells. Tuesday is Pub's Big Beer Night: $3 25oz domestic drafts, $4 imports and half-off menu.

Though this is sort of a Aggie scene, I have no problem waltzin' in with my Texas gear (jersey, cap, shoes and jewelery, mind you). It's all in fun. If you catch a game on Saturday during football season, they have $3 25oz domestics and 35-cents wings. Though, the wings smell kinda syrupy. So if you don't mind smelling like the syrup kid in elementary, dig in.

Pub has two great patios, a spacious one complete with heat lamps in the front, and a smaller one out back. Pub also has a pool table and plenty of seating (Watch out for those cushy black seats. Plop your ass down and you might fall back with legs straight in the air--don't ask.). I knocked off one star only because, as nice as the bar staff and servers are, it sometimes takes a bit too long to get a drink. Good thing their names are on the back of their shirts--but I'm just not a "shout at a bartender" kind of gal.

What I do love most about Pub is that they serve root beer. You know what that means? Jim Morrisons! It's like a bull blaster, just switch the Red Bull for some root beer. Soooo yum. Don't knock it 'til you try it.

You know what, I like Pub. I have heard alot of people talk their mess about the door, but guess what - it's a nightclub. Bouncers have a job to do, and that job is to keep a good crowd in the bar. If you don't want any trouble getting in, dress nicely and maybe bring a girl or two.

That being said, I do enjoy Pub. It is kind of a fallback for me and my drinking buddies.. we have had a couple so-so nights there, and a few absolutely epic nights. The bartenders are pretty cool, drink prices are pretty much what you would expect.. good crowd. My only real gripe is that they keep booking the same live band that sucks my lefty. If they had a consistently good DJ, they would get five stars. Pub gets it close enough though - cheers.

I will never go back to this place!  Before I had a chance to even walk inside with my friends I was told to step to the side because I was wearing athletic shoes.  I didn't know that wearing a pair of Chuck Taylor's was a fashion crime.  As I stood there I noticed that every guy in the place was either wearing Puma's or Converse.  I was eventually allowed to go into Pub Fiction and really wished I would have stayed out.  This place reminds me of the Social House in Dallas because drinks were overpriced and girls were too busy trying to maintain their superficial glam status.

If I learned anything about the Saturday Pub Fiction crowd, it's this: those people LOVE them some Neil Diamond. The cover band played "Sweet Caroline" and the entire place, even the throngs of striped shirt sporting dudes, erupted into a massive, fist-pumping sing-a-long.

I'm normally not a fan of overcrowded bars, but even though Pub Fiction was packed as per usual on a Saturday night, I was expecting it to be worse. The crowd was preppy but friendly, the bartenders were quick and generous with the vodka ($6 well drinks), and yes, the band was loud as hell but a good time was had by all. I'd definitely go back on a weeknight for a happy hour.

This place is either hit or miss for me. I guess part of it is my fault because the usual times I have ventured here is 11 pm on a Friday or Saturday when it is wall to wall. Sometimes I'm in a mood for a big crowd but I have walked in and walked right out before. However, I did spend most of my Friday night there and had a great time partly because I was with a large group. The pizza man made a killing at 2 am in the morning while the borrachos piled out.

The service is sub par so if you prefer beer and have cash do not try to battle the main bar. There is a beer trough right when you walk in to the left that makes for a quick drink. Usually the inside is packed so grabbing a table outside is preferable for me. I also somehow ended up at this place for a post happy hour dinner. The bison burger was not bad but I'm almost positive it was not 100% bison.

Music is current and sometimes live, TVs are well placed, but the pool table looked a little stuffy. I'll be back at this bar whether I like it or not because it is good for groups and has a young Houston scene.

Pub is a 5 on the weeknights and a 3 on the weekends and a 4 if your there to watch sports. The reason this place is a 5 on the weeknights is the great specials and friendly after work crowd. Now while it's still a fun place on weekends cheap specials are replaced by measured, overpriced drinks and Ed Hardy T-shirts.

I highly recommend Pub on weeknights and it is also a fun place to catch a college or NFL game during football season.

Check out the Monday and Tuesday, cheap beer and half price food specials and NFL Sunday's here!

I came here with a friend to catch up while I was in town.  This is their "spot".  Here were my impressions-

a)  For anyone who is craving nachos, get the 1/2 order.  The full order is HUGE even for 2 people.  They were OK.  A little too soggy for my taste.
b) Service was slow (maybe because they weren't expecting a sizeable Tuesday night crowd). So slow, in fact, that when i went up to complain, someone beat me to it, so I just sat back down knowing they would come.
c)  Couches were comfy
d) Crowd was young
e) There was a nice big projector for the game and well-placed surrounding tvs to watch during commercials
f) Music selection was good, but game was on mute

I would probably come back again, but I am definitely not impressed.

I have been to Pub Fiction twice before. Once as part of a group event and another on a Saturday. I have always heard that the place racially profiled their clientele, but had never really taken the warning to heart. Last night, I experienced such discrimination first hand.

When the venue is sparsely occupied, they will pretty much let anyone in. Money is money after all. However, once a line begins to form, expect to see very blatant acts of racism. They will find ANY excuse to turn you down if you are a minority for which they have already met their nightly quota. Arguing will do you no good as they will immediately have their rent-a-cop see you off the premises. Do not ask to see the manager either, as one of the bouncers will just tell you that you are already speaking to him.

I have heard nearly identical accounts of the same story from dozens of people.

By supporting this racist establishment, you are nodding your head to the development of a socially backwards city.

We all want to have a good time, but when we allow businesses such as Pub Fiction to flourish under the spirit of overt racism, we are surely paying too high of a price.

Many will say that bars and nightclubs have the right, as businesses, to choose who they will and will not serve. Ask yourselves, is this not eerily reminiscent of what America fought so hard against during the civil rights movement? Today, ethnic minorities in Houston's night scene are being forced to self-segregate into a few select bars and clubs for fear of being rejected at the doors of others.

In the midst of a forest of speakers blaring 90's music and dimly lit venues filled with stumbling fun-seekers, there lies a malicious ghost  beneath the heel worn streets of nighttime Houston, and I fear that if we continue to meet it with apathy and silence, it will soon take on a corporeal form.

Support social evolution. Fight modern racism. Boycott Pub Fiction and others like it.

Came here for a happy hour with coworkers and I've definitely been to better happy hour locales. The prices were decent. The drinks so-so.

I find the place to be teeming with show offs who have nothing better to do but to dress in their popped polos and cargo shorts as if they were still in a frat party. We sat outside because the music was far too loud to be talking reasonably inside. It was very difficult to find a waiter to come by and one of us finally was fed up enough to just order at the bar and tell them to bring the food to us outside.

Definitely consider other places for happy hour. This place looks like it attracts the "I'm cooler/richer than you" club.

Ok, some of you are just idiots. Complaining about no parking at a place in midtown or downtown is just dumb. You shouldn't expect a huge lot, this is not the suburbs. Anyone that lives in the area cabs it, walks or pays the valet. NO COMPLAINTS. GET OVER IT.
If you go on a regular basis, you will get served quicker and in faster.
Don't wear tennis shoes unless you are going during the day to watch a game. Its huge on games, hence the mass amount of TVs.
The 80s cover band has the worst female singer ever, so be prepared on Thursdays.
These guys own shot bar and Ei8ht, they used to do bar Houston. They know what works, hence why pub has been around 4 years, and I've been going since then.
People don't wear popped collars anymore, not sure what some of you are posting about.
The wait staff is super slow, always has been. Food is decent.
Try the F Bombs, they are great.

Pub Fiction epitomizes the general feeling I have about the majority of Midtown bars (Sunday nights at Front Porch being the exception): If you aren't a size 2 twentysomething, there really isn't a reason to go.  This place has got to be the worst when it comes to this.

As mentioned by several of the other reviewers, expect there to always be a big ass line to get in the door.  Then, expect the crush of twentysomethings to be so thick at the bar, that it will take forever to get a drink.  The drink, once you pay a hefty fee to get it, will probably not taste that great and will contain very little alcohol.

Did I mention that this place was packed?  Oh, I did, but let me reiterate that - this place will be so full that it will be impossible to move around without bumping into someone or getting bumped into.

Plus, the times I've been here, it's been so loud that you can either not talk to your friends or scream yourself hoarse trying to communicate.  The majority of the reason I go to a bar is to be with my friends, so not being able to talk to them is a big turn off for me.

Add to this the fact that you'll either have to valet or park (quite possibly) far away and hoof it over doesn't help either, especially since I go pretty much no where without wearing high heeled shoes of some kind.

You know, maybe I'm just old (though I didn't hang out in bars like this in my twenties either), but I absolutely cannot see any reason to come to this bar.  It's loud, packed (Why?!), has overpriced drinks, and is a pain to actually get to.  Avoid this place and go somewhere else like Fedora Lounge or Sambuca.

Coming from Los Angeles, I loved this place so much, I went first by myself, then took two friends back to try it out two days later.

On my first night, a Tuesday around 10:30, I just wanted a good local place that was walking distance from the sports bar where I (regretfully) watched the Celtics kick the Lakers ass in game 5 of the series.  I skulked away tail between my legs, but my hotel's shuttle driver recommended I try Pub Fiction.  I mean... the name itself is genius.

I walked up to the bar in my jeans, flips, and long sleeve shirt (another mistake for humid Houston), and once I ordered my drink, before the waitress could serve it to me, I had a wonderful southern gentleman offer to buy it for me.  How nice is that?  Then, he and his friends kept me company all night, good music in the back ground, a pool table, a patio for smoking or lounging, 2 bars, friendly staff, and just all around great!  I even went on a 2nd date with the person I met before I had to leave town.  How nice!

The 2nd night I went with 2 girl friends.  We had a not so great time at a sushi place, then passed up a shi-shi foo-foo Mexican Scene bar, and ended up back at Pub Fiction.  Between the 3 of us, our bar tab only came to $78 for the whole night.  We had another good time, and there was a live cover band who was quite good.

Also, all the locals told me that this place has the best bar food in town (and it's half priced on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

I would recommend this place for a date, for groups, or even if you just want to mosey up to the bar by yourself.

This place is good for after work HH or just hanging with friends. The crowd can be very entertaining. On the down side the waitresses can be very unwelcoming. Not sure if they are over worked or underpaid? But they never look happy? This is a good starter place for food and drinks before a night out or just to watch the game. One consist thing about this place is the music always sucks. They also have pool tables, video poker and golf games. Overall a good central place to start drinking then move on.

This is a great place for people of all ages in Midtown.  It's also the best place to watch a sporting event.  Mondays and Tuesdays ALL food is 1/2 off!  I recommend their chicken quesadillas (ask them to put pickled jalapenos inside of them, if you like it hot!)  Thursday-Saturday, you can expect a crowd, but hey, that's Midtown during the weekend.  The bar staff is very friendly, and the drinks are good!

Upon leaving my house Saturday night, a friend asked our cab driver for a recommendation on where everyone was headed to that night.  When he told us it was Pub Fiction and neither of us knew what it was we decided we might as well have an adventure and investigate a new place. Hey, it could be fun.

WRONG!  I have no idea why this place was packed.  I am even confused as to how people seemed to be having fun.  The layout is awful, the DJ is terrible, they make you wait outside for no reason, the people are pushy and obnoxious...the list goes on and on and on.  Had I had the opportunity to look this place up on Yelp before going, I never, everEVER would have gone.  Granted, we all enjoy our own atmosphere and have different places that we like and dislike for many reasons, but read the reviews people.  This much disappointment can not be wrong and should just aid in steering you clear of this disaster they call a bar.

I don't come here often, but the times that I've had, it's been good.

I can see what everyone's saying about the "pretty" people coming to Pub Fiction to party, but why not jump on the bandwagon and get some pretty in ya too? (Whichever way you can... ;))

So here's the deal: I love their live music. They had some awesome 80s tunes playing on a Thursday night I was there, and I was rocking out! There was a guy on an acoustic guitar another night I was here, and he was pretty damn good, too.

I've had great conversations with friends on the outdoor patio (not inside, I can't hear anyone inside!), and like everyone says (or hates to say), there's plenty of eye candy to go around. (My friends met a cute Aussie here ... delish!)

Our server was quick and she never got our drinks wrong! And those  Washington Apples were might tasty, too...

Definitely come to check out the cuties and have a couple of drinks, enjoy the music...

Oh! But do make sure you're not "underdressed," whatever that means. I had some friends get turned away once for wearing shorts, I think, and another friend for not having a picture ID (he was from South Africa -- I'm surprised the accent didn't charm them... although he may have been a "tad bit" wasted...). So come prepared!

Oh my sweet dear tender lord of all that is good and right in this world of music... the DJ at Pub Fiction this Saturday made me want to gently tear off my ears van Gogh prostitute-gift style (although some say that he was schizophrenic and just went through a manic episode during which he wanted to stop the voices in his head)

But I digress.

The DJ (nay, the tool with the apple software DJ studio demo edition) who tried a mash-up between "I will Survive" and some Red Hot Chili Peppers song... was only upstaged by a lot of the other patrons.

I was, however, impressed with the guy next to me the one time I fought the Bridge and Tunnel Weekly subscribers for a place at the bar.

Allow me to set the scene.  Two fairly attractive women-creatures in their mid-20's wearing at least $50 bucks of MAC makeup and 2.3 sq. feet of clothing between them were at the bar just having their drinks delivered by mr barman.  A quasi-OK-looking dude sporting his latest round of liquid courage approached them asking if they would like him to buy them a drink.  The more sober of the females declined, politely saying that she had already bought one, but added that he was "generous".  The relatively less sober one said nothing... but simply grabbed the back of the guy's head and kissed him... shortly after which she asked him to kindly move so that she could meet back up with her friends at the back of the bar.

And there you have it folks... I was out of my element.

UPDATE- 11/2/07-
I stopped in Friday night and was happy to see a large crowd (even though it was early at 9pm) and a live band. There were 2 waitresses serving the happy hour crowd on the patio and at least 2 more inside. (Disclaimer- I only mention this to dispute previous claims.) I walked in with two of my friends, an African- American man and a AA/Cuban woman. We didn't have any problems with racism that several people have said they had. Hopefully, that problem was with the picky bouncers!

This place is good for hangouts after work, happy hour or weekends. Nice patio, two separate bars, lots of big tvs for all you sports fans, nice crowd too. Crowd was cute, young but not so young that you felt like a parent or something creepy. Drinks are great, price is to be expected for midtown, but bartenders are beautiful. There was even some late nite (or was it early morning) dancing! Anyways, 5 stars for the crowd and atmosphere...

Not a bad place, but the liquor is a bit on the pricey side. I like the HD screens, given the World Series was on last night. Good size crowd, but not too crowded. Then again, it was Wednesday night.

Couldn't hear the live music (acoustic) over the crowd, but at least the dude looked cool with his guitar.

Excellent place for happy hour. On Thursday nights they have $5 domestic pitchers and other good specials. The food is typical bar food fare, but pretty good for what it is. I recommend sitting out on the patio when it isn't too hot or cold. In reference to one of of the other reviews, I've never had a problem wearing jeans and sneakers...or I'm too oblivious to notice the pretentious stare-down.

I always have a good time at this place. I made a stop here during my night out this past weekend. I've never had any trouble getting in or with the door guys; however, on some occasions I have noticed that they can be somewhat "pretentious."  The crowd here is usually very friendly, I also like that they have outdoor seating and a live band. The bartenders are fast and friendly as well. It's close to other midtown bars and clubs, so it makes it easy to stop by for a drink or two on your way to next place.

They need to make up their mind. Either be a club and have some place to dance, or turn down the music cuz I CAN"T HEAR A DAMN THING in there. Always too crowded for my taste on a wknd for a bar. Heather is an awesome server though. So if you go during the week to grab a bite and some drinks when its more sane there, try to sit in her section. Everyone there wears shirts with their name on it so you will be able to find her, but shes blonde and very cute.

This place looks like its really fun and happening but beware because they racially profile against Asians. My friend walked up with tennis shoes on, they proceeded to tell him they weren't in the dress code. He changed into another pair of dress shoes which we got from a friend who had already wore them inside. They then again told him those weren't in the dress code and then proceeded to let in many other white guys who were wearing sneakers and sandals. They also didn't let in another asian friend of mine whose license had expired and wouldn't take his other forms of identification. I have heard from others that this is an ongoing problem at this bar and plan to not return because of it.

Not sure what all the hates are about for this place.  Sure, the place is crowded and it seemed like a place where all the Fratty McFrat-frats and their pretty blond girlfriends hang out, but my boyfriend and I fit neither of those categories and we still had a great time.  We got in with no problems.  The drinks were nice and strong and not too expensive.  The band started playing some 90's cover songs shortly after we got there and they were a bunch of fun.  I didn't hear the horrible DJ that was mentioned several times (thank goodness, or else I'd left).  We had a good time just hanging out and I'd go back again with my friends.

Kymberlie's review of this place is dead on. Don't go here unless you want to feel like you're at a fraternity party. This is definitely one of those wanna-be Hollywood "pretty people" bars where the majority of the girls in it look like they've probably had a career as a stripper at one point in their life. Then again this is just my take on it. If you're a yuppie I'm sure you'll love this place.

Maybe its because I am old but I hate waiting 5-10 mins to squeeze my way up to the bar and wait for one of the thirty bartenders to notice me and order a drink.  I am not really dissing this place because i know a lot of people are into this type of place.  If you are a beer drinker bring cash because they have mini bars with beer only on the sides with no lines, so hit those up.  It was too crowded for me, and the play dance music but do not have a dance area so i thought that was a little weird.  Their drinks are also not that strong for how much they are.  But they do have a pretty cool outside seating area. I myself am half and half on this place i will probably go here again so you be the judge, it all depends on what type of person you are

It's a little crowded but the live bands are good.  This place has always been a little crowded when I go, and very crowded when there is an Aggie football game going on.  They have an 80s band on Thursday I believe that is great fun and there is even a little place to dance, not that many people take advantage of it.  The drink prices are not bad but not great either, and the food is the typical bar quality.  What makes it a 4 and not a 3?  80s night and the fact that I'm an Aggie!

Nice college pub like bar. The line outside might make you thing you are getting into a lavish night club. Busy on weekends. Good place to go with a group of friends.

Its like a dance club without a dance floor...strange I know.  This place is always crowded so its gotta be good.  The bar is always crowded so you've gotta be patient.  Sit down on some interesting looking furniture, play a game of pool, or meet some new people...its a good place, take that crazy co-worker of yours!

This place is always busy, so if you are looking to chill this is not the place.  There are TV's everywhere so that you can watch the game and there is usually live music Thursday, Firday, or Saturday.  This is definitely the place to be seen in Midtown.

it was open late monday night - which is a good thing. still had a scene until closing. my impression it was a more sports bar/ drink heavily and not discriminatingly kind of place. but there are pool tables, darts, comfortable bar tables/bar to sit at. excellent place for a large group of friends.
