Berkeley and Albany are not lacking for watering holes, but few possess the homey charm of this pub.  Think old lamps (some with pull-chains and green shades, delightful!), worn tables, and creaky chairs.  This is not the destination for trendy mixology or your Friday night "all-riiiiiiiight," but sometimes it's good to take off the leather and put on a sweater.

In my opinion, the best time to experience the cozy wonder of the pub is when it is a gross and blustery day; snuggle up next to the fireplace or in a chair by the window and sip a pint or pitcher while you watch the rain drown the world outside.  Is it warm and breezy, rather?  Cool off with a cold one on the patio.

If you are able to appreciate the pub for what it is, it will never disappoint you.

Hell no, are you f*** (self-censorship) kiddin me?!?! This place is the place where you are totally in equilibrium - as a man (check my picture, me smoking my cigar, sitting in the sun): a beer, a cigar, great seats to laid back and killing time - most elative convenientist (is that a word?).

Seriously, I understand why a guy like Robin Williams had that place as a hang out.

There is a room in the back: you can smoke there, secretly OR you sit on the front porch, let the summer breeze and a bit of sun burn your brains out while smoking a cigar and drinking a nice cold beer.

Mentioning beer: they got all sorts of beer and here and than you might get to know one person (like I did) who drunk almost every drinkable beer in his life (from Belgium, Holland, Germany, and what have you).
In short: I met great guys there with unique charisma and a sense of decent killing time - state of mind.

Therefore smoking hot 5 stars from me. This place is a outrage to the modernity of compulsive anal culture. LOL, sorry, I just wanted to describe the highly appreciated service of offering a space to let go - The only little thing I missed though - was a little place to put my feet on....hehehehehe.

This place is sweet! The beer selection is not extensive, but hand-picked goodness... I highly recommend the Fuller's ESB. Easily one of the best beers in the world, in my opinion.

Fun, super-laid-back atmosphere. Great place to hang out with friends and jabber on...

This place is great for a relaxed night.  There is an outdoor area with lights to smoke and drink (be warned, no heat lamps though!) and a cozy indoor, living room type of set up that is well lit...You'll find people reading in a corner, playing dominos at a table, or just talking over on a couch.  The atmosphere is almost a mix of a late night cafe/bar with room to smoke.

For years I passed the Pub and thought it was just another bar or tobacco shop (translation, possible dive)even though it looked cute set up a few steps from the street. When a friend finally introduced me to the Pub, I was entranced. Walking in off the street, they have a number of tables and chairs outdoors to sit and relax. Inside, you look around and see several tables and chairs as well as some overstuffed pieces of furniture. Board games are neatly placed on their bookshelves. It reminds me of Grandma's place in a good way with the wonderful light, pleasant smell of pipe tobacco. They sell a wide variety of beers along with tobacco and cigarettes. The also have good coffee and bagged tea and cookies are available for sale.  I occasionally come here when I want to sit, relax, have some tea and relax a bit before I check off another item from my list . Starbucks and Peets seem a tad too hustly-bustly for me and lack the mellow feel that the Pub does. The place is neat and the employees are friendly. Looking around, you might see someone reading, working on a computer, talking to friends or playing a board game. The patrons vary in age from people in their 20s to seniors but it is a mellow, enjoyable place to visit.  Have to visit the back room, just to make another report on Yelp. Let me put that on my list of things to do. Feel totally comfortable and safe there even if I am by myself. It is a great place to relax whether you want some coffee, a beer or a just a place to hang out. If this is a pub atmosphere, I like it. Now... to check out the back room and back garden... Unfortunately, because of the stairs, it is not a place that is wheelchair accessible.

The weight of smoke in my lungs, the slight taste of tobacco on my lips, tendrils dancing in the air, the reflection that comes with a quiet session, all things I treasure. For aficionados, Pub is a vast and delightful danger zone.

Their smoking accoutrements range from antique to corn pipes, wide-mouthed jars of deliciously moist shag, designer cigarettes and fancy lighters. Patrons must step onto one of the patios to light up; the first facing Solano, good for people watching, the second partially enclosed behind the building.

The ambiance is simple and cozy, reminiscent of a jolly grandpa's home, many nooks and rooms to be discovered. In the main den, a radiant fireplace casts a warm glow on the surrounding armchairs. It is here you'll find me snuggled and sipping merrily. Their brews run the gamut (mead, anyone?), and they also have a small but thoughtful wine list.

I think I was a mite too excited upon my first visit, as the slightly older, academic-type regulars regarded me wearily. But we pulled out the backgammon and gained some insta-respect. Their game shelf is solid.

This is not your pick-up chicks, watch the game type of place; conversations happen purely for interests' sake only, there's not a tv in the house. It's so refreshing to interact being able to really see all the expression on a person's face, chat without yelling.

A visit here feels like putting on sheepskin slippers.

This is the place to come if you want to hang out with a few of your friends, have a drink (or two) and actually have a conversation that does not involve copious amounts of yelling and a sore throat the next day as a result.  All the bartenders are super cool and friendly and beverages are decently priced.

Bonuses: Fireplace and board games--good for when your other friends are playing Magic (ahem) but you and your buddies are like "Ah hell nah!  We're playing Candyland suckas!"  Yeah, like that.

P.S. Also a nice place to study with lots of tables inside and outlets for your laptop.  I spent several nights studying for finals here and it made for a good, quiet studying environment.

P.P.S. I actually trust the bathroom, and being a huge germophobe, that says a lot about the cleanliness of their bathrooms--a big plus!

When someone told me this used to be an antique store, it all made sense.  The decor is trashy and kitch.  In the front room there are colored christmas tree lights haphazardly strung along the walls, plates above the windows, and this weird sculpture that my friends thought was a real stuffed dog.

It seemed like there was older well dressed men in the front and a more colorful crowd in the back.  The first person I met had an dyed-black emo haircut and his roots were growing out, he seemed to be very informed about the pub, and went on to tell me that he worked for some online survey scam that charged people's credit cards every month for an IQ test the took once.  WTF?  He also said, "This place isn't exactly legit", I asked if he meant they didn't have a business license or license to sell tobacco, and what not, and he said something like I dunno, they haven't been around for very long...

This place doesn't offer anything you couldn't buy for less and do at your own house, whats the point?

it feels slightly like your grandma's living room, but in a good way. in a make-yourself-at-home...grandma-will-bring-you-bee r kinda way. the bartender recommended a lagunitas IPA to me, which i tried and liked. there seemed to be an interesting mix of people reading/writing/studying, and groups playing boardgames... definitely a quieter, mellower crowd than most establishments.

while the tiny size of the whole place (one small room and a porch) is part if its endearing charm, it is also somewhat of a downfall as there is very limited seating. we actually ended up sharing a table with a very nice woman who was reading by herself and drinking tea. she told us that she came here often which seemed to be a high recommendation. even though she kept insisting that she didnt mind, i couldnt help but feel that our boggle-ing was too disruptive to be sitting so close to someone else in such a contained space.

by the way... new personal best high scrabble score.... Q-U-A-I-L-E-D. double word, with the QU! HELLL YA

This place is just great. A relaxed non-pretentious bar/tobacconist/living room style hangout. They have beer, wine, and an assortment of tobacco products (hopefully they'll legalize someday and then this place will have herbal products too :)

I went there last night for the first time with a friend from LA. He got a beer and cigar and I got a beer with some Nat Shermans. It was so relaxed and comfortable. Nice and warm inside with board games and a fireplace, and outside had plenty of seating so you could enjoy a smoke the one place on Solano that it isn't illegal (it is illegal to smoke on the rest of Solano Ave.  AT ALL). I'm not even a regular smoker but this place was just fun, a nice break from all the college bars and hipster Jazz BS.

This is one of the things I miss most about the Bay Area. It's one of the best places to be on a wintry (by California standards) evening. There's a patio out front and a couple of enclosed spaces out back for those who enjoy fresh air with their smokes and drinks.

Pub is also a tobacconist and purveyor of warm non-alcoholic beverages. It's easy to imagine it as someone's extended living room/parlor/sitting area. Cozy, mellow, and terrific. The pub of pubs.

Cozy.  Cheap.  Great, weird selection on tap and bottled.  The place has both sweet and semi-sweet mead, for goodness sake (go with semi-sweet, by the way).  I don't think I'm likely ever to find a better pub anywhere I go.  Laid out like a house, which only adds to the comfort.  Board games, comfy chairs, and plenty of outside seating since it's a tobacconist (with a quite excellent selection, according to my friends who smoke) as well as a pub.  It's best to be introduced to this place by someone you know, just because it seems to fit so well.

I haven't been back since the end of August, and I'm missing the place like an old friend.

Having lived in England for five years I have grown a liking to the pub-culture and the English brews. Moving to the US I feared the worst as back in Europe all we think people here drink is Bud, Miller and Coors. So I was very pleasantly surprised when I realized how wrong I was, the variety and the quality of beers here are excellent. However, I was still missing a proper Pub in Berkeley. So had a wander down to "The Pub" on Solano Ave. and I must say I really like it. Feels like a good old english pub. The brews are imported, when I was there they had Fullers ESB and Old Speckled Hen. Sadly the beers where not hand-pulled and they were cold and a bit fizzy, still very nice but a bit Americanized as I prefer ale the way its served in England, flat and luke-warm.

In total, a very nice Pub to go to in the company of a book or to play a game of chess.

I wasn't born in the US and spent the greater part of my early years of development with aunts, uncles, nannys, grandparents and friends.  When I did finally move to the states, my dad made me play Mastermind and jerry rigged games of pong as designed by engineering students.  I also hung out at a university lab with my dad where I helped test soil samples.

I explain all this to highlight that several decades later, a few days ago, during a late night visit to The Pub, is where I played my first Sorry and Candyland.  Trivia pursuit seemed too much 3 beers and a large shot of rum later, so 3 adults waxed nostalgic while I learned to send little red, blue and green pawns back to Start.

As for the Pub itself ... pretty cool place.  Bright on the inside, but good place to read, catch up with friends, play board games, study even ... or outside on the patio in the dark to enjoy the many bottled beers they carry.

My first visit to Pub was in the daytime about a year after I first came to the East Bay area.  I had some coffee, sat and talked with my friend, and suffice to say, I didn't get to experience Pub for all it was.

Now, here I am, recently moved away from the Bay Area, possibly forever, and I can't believe I didn't go here much, much more than I did.  My last few weeks in the Bay Area were Pub-filled, though, and I'm glad for that.

This is basically the best bar for hanging out in that I have ever been to.  Lots of comfortable, cozy seating, and ample place for smoking (front porch, back porch and room off back porch that is sufficiently outside to constitute a legal smoking area, but sufficiently inside to make it seem like you're hanging out in someone's study).  You could come read a book, come play games (Dominos, my old-timey favorite, are in ample supply) or, strike up a conversation with one of the regulars (believe me - if I were going to be there longer, I would definitely keep coming until I was one myself).

So long Pub, I don't know when I'll get to see you again!

The best parts of a bar, coffee shop, and living room all rolled into one, with an extra bonus of the lingering smell of good tobacco (not smoke, but the tobacco itself). Don't mind the old man in the corner sleeping with a book on his chest. Don't mind the strange feeling that you're walking into somebody's house. Don't mind the couple cuddling in an easy chair in the middle of the room. Just order one of their great beers, grab a game and a table and enjoy some time with your friends. Check out the painting of the woman who is sad either because there are grey lips on her head or because her lap & feet are sitting under the table next to her. Minor quibble: the Social Security Game (a bad idea in my opinion, and not for the reasons you might think) knocked over my beer. Now that wasn't very non-threatening or non-competitive, was it? Minor detail that I love: the signs they put up at the bar when they go out for a smoke. One improvement I'd like to see: popcorn. Either make-your-own with a microwave or in one of those movie popcorn stands. Seriously, it would take Pub to the next level.

Sometimes, I wish had a big Victorian house with hardwood floors, ample seating, a library of board games, and a smoking room -  a great place to invite all my friends over.  Since my current digs are a studio apartment with wall to wall carpeting, I must live my dream elsewhere...and The Pub is where I can live it.  It has all of the above!

Inside this converted house, they have a little tobacco shop where you can purchase a variety of specialty tobaccos and roll your own cigarette (tres, tres European) and a small sort of bar where you can pick up a beverage to accompany an evening long game of Scrabble, checkers, or even Candyland.  There is a room in back where smoking is absolutely permitted, and a little outdoor patio area if you'd rather smoke outdoors.  For the non-smokers, the front rooms are available, complete with comfy chairs and lots of tables.

A sweet little escape for this city girl...anyone up for a game of Trivial Pursuit?

I want to love the pub so badly that it hurts.  It's basically the only bar on Solano Avenue, it has great ambiance, and they have a super sweet smoking room and patio with pipe tobacco for sale.

I had visited the pub previously and had a mediocre time, feeling like an outcast in a hipper than thou hippster's house.  However, I just bought a couple of pipes and wanted to try them out in a social environment, so I gave it another chance.

I went with two friends.  I'm 28 with a California ID, one friend is 32 with CA ID, and the other is 24 with a New York State ID.  Not exactly a group of young punks.  We've never had a problem at any other bar.  When my friend from NY presented his ID to the bartender at The Pub, however, she looked at like she had never seen an out of state ID before.  She left to get the manager, then he arrived and proceeded to quiz my friend about his life.  The beginning question was, "So how long have you lived in New Jersey?"  Does he really think we're that stupid?  What a degrading experience while other people in line watched!

Eventually, after a full interview about my friend's parents' professions and other ridiculous and irrelevant questions, he deemed that we were worthy to enter without even giving us an apology for this spectacle.

Even after that experience, we all felt like outcasts walking around The Pub, where the smugness in the air is so thick you can cut it with a knife.  Oh Pub, I want to love you, but we're just too different and we have to part ways.

Finally, a word for the manager.  A business (especially a bar) is about customers and relationships, so don't go out of your way to piss them off!

Drawn in by the curious name, yet expecting a stuffy, pretentious fancy bar, we were rewarded in a big way. It's quite the opposite, cozy, and like having beer at a friend's house. I totally want to rip off this concept and bring it to The City. They even have Old Speckled Hen and St Peter's. Love.

Really, truthfully, there is only one review to give...and this is it, but of coarse I will give others.  There is no end to this places awesomeness.  Cool enough for the hipsters, relaxed enough for the grandpaps, and smart enough for the intellectuals, no other establishment comes close.

A decent variety of pipe and rolling tobaccos (certainly more than you'll find anywhere around the neighborhood) as well as people who'll teach you how to pack a pipe if you ask real nice.

A good variety of beer on tap, from IPA to English to Stout, and all of it top quality.

Free to bring food in, and good thing because Solano has some good food.

My only qualm with this place is that one day I sat down on their wood bench outside and got about eight splinters in my ass, literally, the ass.  That only makes me dock them a quarter star though, so I rounded up anyway!

p.s. they've got games too!  Checkers, chess, trivial pursuit...

This is a tiny little bar in downtown Albany, that's set in what appears to have once been someone's house more than a traditional bar atmosphere. It's a quiet place with cheap drinks (a good combination of alcoholic and non-alcoholic) where it's easy to bring in food and have real conversations. Despite those perks, I found I just couldn't get into this place.  It was so quiet it was almost creepy (you could literally hear crickets chirping), and most of the crowd was significantly older than my friends and me. We felt very uncomfortable in the stuffy, somewhat pretentious feeling house, so we went outside, where it was a little bit nicer. If I'd been looking for a night of serious and intense conversation I might have have minded this place less, but that's not usually what I look for when I go to bars. As much as I would've liked to have liked this homey little bar, it just isn't the kind of atmosphere I enjoy for a night out. You're better off going to a coffee shop.

Easily the strangest Bar I have ever been to. When I walked in I felt like I was in somebodies living room, not a highly touted yelp pub. There is a couple of couches, a blazing fire. Kinda like a strange mellow house party. Anyways, good selection of tasty Irish Ales, very homey feel

How about this, they have a bunch of games on a shelf you can bust out and play. Risk stratego connect 4, you name it.

I love the Pub!  It really is a little bit of Cheers, and they are pretty accepting for the not-quite-regulars.  If you're looking to chat someone up, you can always find some conversation, from the bartender/barista/tobacco pusher if nobody else!

Anyways, apparently the pub had a close call, but according to the news article:

Albany wrote in an exception to the smoking ban for patios of drinking establishments that serve food.  Good thing they sell cookies there!

Like a 3 star review, balance is required:

Good                                                 Bad

Nice tobacco selection                  I don't smoke
Great clientele                                 They could bathe more
Good beer selection                       Limited taps
Outdoor seating                              Surrounded in Plywood
Its just so Berkeley                         Its just so Berkeley

That's the way it goes.  I go here and will keep on going.  I just know what I want out a pub, and this is easily 80% of it.

"The Pub does not want Yelpers to come here.  Let me emphasize that: they do NOT want your patronage."

couldn't agree more. any place that calls themselves THE PUB, leaving out any kind of indefinite article to maybe even suggest there exists another, be wary. the place is grad student study sesh meets middle aged banter. enjoyable, but more of a spectator sport for me than anything else. if you'd rather not look up the definition of "pontificate" in good ol merriam-webster, you can find it in action nearly every night in the back room.

okay, having said all the negatives, and seriously that really is all the negatives, the place is really great. they have some of the best choice of beer around and some novel cigarettes if you are bored by your own pack (although a bit pricey). the place gets a four because of its fine selection and lax attitude. and after all, it's my neighborhood pub so i've come to enjoy the irony of participating in back room conversations.

It feels like your uncle's hunting lodge if he invited some quiet Cal kids over.  This place is mostly regulars in the back room smoking on the patio and having debates on topics ranging from the absurd to the inane and back again.
they are occasionally amenable for a game of Mafia or Jenga.  Hand rolled cigarettes are $.40.
they make a great black and tan and a nice snake-bite.
And when Jordan is bar-tending you are guaranteed to hear some great 80's tunes or a movie you don't remember you love.

Great Homestyle Pub--  Literally a converted bungalow type house with outdoor patio in front and back for smoking (yay).
It's kind of surprising when you go up the steps and walk into a living room-type setting (with the fireplace going strong in the winter). Great laid back atmosphere. They've done well positioning little tables for people to have their own converstations, or if you're in a group you can take the big seating in front of the fireplace, the group seating outside or the "back room".   The beer selections were surprisingly great, both ontap and in bottle. They also have coffee, tea, wine, hot cocoa, some specialty drinks and a very, very large selection of tobacco.

The girl at that counter in back was awesome and super nice/helpful. Prices were as expected--though cheaper than a place like, say Jupiters.  We had our own smokes, so I have yet to sample any of their specialty tobacco (they also have regular cigarettes too).

The people there were laid back--many professor-types, couples and low-key meetings. Though, the back-room was livelier. We saw they had board games and heard the distinct Yatzee dice going which is a bonus.

The only complaint I have is the lack of heat lamps outside in the winter---but otherwise---what a great little pub this is.

What is a pub, anyway?

Start with what a pub is not.  Not a place to hit on hotties.  Not a place to root for televised sports.  Not a place to see and be seen.  Not a place to drink your liver to jellied regret.  Not a place for fine cuisine.  No, a pub is not all of those things, and not more besides.

A pub is a mellow, friendly place to drop in for a pint, a comfortable chair, a smoke and a chat if you wish, a book and some quiet time if you prefer.        And that is all.

It takes a strong sense of identity to be a pub.  Many places that could have been pubs are ruined by trying to be more - more lively, more hip, more profitable.   A TV sneaks in, then a dance floor, an arcade machine, or a couple of fancified cocktails.  And another couldabeen pub is gone.

When a pub is exactly right, all that it should be and nothing that it should not, we can capitalize it as The Pub and walk to it on Solano Avenue.  As we enter through the squeaky front door but especially as we make our goodbyes a couple hours later, we'll know that we've found very possibly the finest pub in the Bay Area, perhaps on the West Coast.

This was my regular pub for several years, until I moved from Berkeley.  In my new town, Portland, there are many excellent bars and a few good pubs.  But The Pub is in a class by itself, and whenever I'm back in the East Bay, I stop by.

Alright, for the practical information:
- Front porch with assorted tables and chairs, some sunny and others shaded, patrons chatting and sipping, some smoking, others sleeping on the ground (these last are usually dogs).
- Inside, several small tables - laptops are welcome but there's no WiFi - and a clutch of battered armchairs around a fireplace.  No smoking indoors.
- One counter for beer, a few wines, coffee, and all the food you want, if all you want is a small bag of chips or perhaps a cookie.  There's no food served here.  It is okay to bring food (but not drink) from the outside.
- Another counter for loose tobacco, rolling papers, new and used pipes, and the rest of the smoking stuff.  Yes, the Pub is a smoke shop too, and if smoking bothers you, you shouldn't be here.
- That's about all you need to know, until you've frequented the Pub several times.

If you're a friendly, interesting, relaxed person, who either smokes or doesn't mind smoke, give the Pub a visit.

I think under different circumstances (such as: a sunny, warm afternoon w/ a group of friends, sitting at one of the outdoor tables), I'd give this place 5 stars.  But...

-it's cash-only
-the chair I sat in was smelly.

Can't give 5 stars for a smelly chair.

Otherwise, very cool little joint.  Lots of tabacco paraphenalia to look at.  Nice people.  Cozy places to sit.  Good selection of beers.  Why oh why was my chair smelly?  Me don't want to know.

I knew I was in the right place when after we ordered the guy asked, "How chocolate-y do you want your hot chocolate?" I replied, "Very chocolate-y. Thanks for asking." That was the most coaching I gave to the guy and the hot chocolate was very very good.

My friendr and I sat there for close to two hours chatting away. It's a nice comfy place, it's like you're in someone's house. They even have board games that you can play there.

The Pub's hot chocolate is definitely a close second just behind Semifreddis. Its generous scoops of good old fashioned Ghiradelli chocolate, cozy atmosphere, close proximity to home, and late hours make it a new destination for me. A great place for a late-night fix.

I'm not a tobacco enthusiast so I have no comments about that side of their business.

A third place.  Golden.  Pub is.

Wine.  Chess.  Beer on tap.  Wood floors.  Tobacco, if you smoke.  Old West feeling, very out of place for Solano Avenue.

I love Pub.  You're lucky if you know about this place.  You're even luckier if you take your significant other here for an intimate chat over wine, after a film.

I went to Berkeley to visit someone and she brought me here with her roommate. She described the building as being sort of like a subdued, airy bungalow, and I think this description is apt: creaky wooden floor, worn upholstery on the couches, a fireplace, antique bric-a-brac on the walls and coffee tables, and unadorned windows which admit ample natural light. We played Scrabble while thumbing through an issue of Playboy magazine from the 1980s and drinking coffee. My friend got free soup. The barista was a cute hippie type. This seems like the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon with friends.

Be warned that it smells like pipe smoke.

One of my back-up conversational drinking points of interest, however it is only a back-up because of its proximity to my home (not walkable unless it's warm and I am feeling fit), and because they tend to close on the earlier side.

Great beer selection and the staff is really kind and interesting. I think it's cute that they hand wash all the glasses.

The Pub is a great spot to hang out, talk, drink wine,
beer, sherry & port, coffee, tea or soda and smoke.
I mean outdoors, outdoors...  Hmmm... Great
folks to chat with & discover the meaning of
life or perhaps the meaning of wife?  Well,
some meaning...  I met some interesting
people, both young (well, 18 plus) & old.
Pleasant argument (discussion!) along
with the ability for me to smoke a cigar
or two.  Ya' gotta' check it out...

Hands down, the single best spot in the San Francisco Bay Area. It even edges out Port Costa. Beer, cigarettes, close to Gordo's, outdoor, indoor, chill, conversationally stimulating this place is the bee's knees.

That said, my fiancee recently confided in me that she hates it. F'ing shocker. Which only means it doesn't cater to those who need to be entertained, you sort of have to bring your own. I think conversation works the best, though we have had an hours long something of Trivial Pursuit. But, if you like a quite beer, the gentle musk of dusty books and enjoy being reminded of worn leather...hey, forget about it.

Excellent, excellent, excellent!

The best place to hang out, drink and smoke, period.
Comfortable, non-snobby, and real.
If I was still drinkin' like I used to, I'd be here every night.  Nowadays, I go poke my nose in once a week or so -- just to say hi to some friends.

It's also a great place to chill out, meet new people, and 'get local'.  Esp when my housemates have gone to sleep and I'm trying to be quiet around the house -- I live on the same block.  DOH!

I'm very happy to be near this wonderful place -- and I love the staff. :)

Ahhh, the pub. Schmidt's Pub.

The ONLY place I have come across which feels like a real PUB....

No I'm not talking about the stereotypical 'Union Jacks on the wall, world cup on the TV' type of place. The Pub does not try to emulate it's British counterparts.

Nor is it a 'bar' type place where people go get loaded. (Although that  can occur).

As someone described earlier, it's more akin to a cafe.

It is a social place. Strangers and friends meet. Good conversation. Barkeeps with personality. Good drinks (no hard alcohol). Old comfy chairs. Fireplace. Board games. Patios. Fine tobaccos. And a great back room.

That's what a pub should be...the 'other place' where you interact with people outside of work and home. Schmidt's Pub is that place.
