Myself, my husband and kids stopped in here for lunch Thanksgiving day after watching the Parade. It was one of the few places actually opened for business that was not jammed. I guess not too many people, other than my family, eat pizza on Thanksgiving Day. We all ordered a slice of pizza and boy was it yummy! I don't know how this happens but the pizza in New York is always so much better than the pizza in Los Angeles! It's the crust! The crust was thin and crispy.. How do they do this?  My husband swears it is the water. Whatever it is, you can't visit NY without trying the pizza.

The pizza is okay, and the service subpar.  I actually had an order of spaghetti that I now regret ordering.  Sbarro's is superior.  I will not be returning.

This is the BEST pizza place I have ever been to. Every since I've eaten there. No other place tops it. Even places where I thought they were the best has been obliterated by Pronto.

Garlic knots are definitely the best!!!

Good for a quick bite.  Beer in paper cups is helpful for a businessman on the go.  Yes, the pizza is somewhat greasy, but not in such a bad way.  Generous toppings.

Pronto's one of our regular lunch spots. There doesn't seem to be anything all that spectacular about this place, however on this block, it does seem to be slightly better than the other pizza places.

Lunch time the line packs out quick, but they get it moving in no time. (I think the longest I stood on like was 5 minutes.)

Decent quick food for 10 dollars or less--what more do you want?

Actually, I would have given this place a three or maybe a four for the comfort food quality that a greasy pizza has - if i was still in my twenties and still loved overly greasy food.  But grease wasn't the only thing wrong with my pizza.

My overall impression was that it tasted like the pizza my friends and I would get at the college campus pub - it was pretty bad, but we always washed that pizza down with beer - And maybe that was the problem I had here - I ordered a snapple iced tea with the pizza, and not a beer.

I ordered two slices of pepperoni.  It had so much grease that the pepperoni was drowning.  Also, the crust wasn't toasted enough - and actually, it wasn't cooked long long enough - it was kind of raw gooey, and that pretty much ruined my meal.  The cheese was good, though. I ended up taking the cheese off the grease and eating that, and left the rest of the two slices behind.

There aren't an awful lot of places around 42nd street to eat for cheap, but this place is good.  It's just a few blocks from my office which makes it very convenient for group lunches or takeout.  Their delivery is fast and easy.

Definitely some of the best pizza in the neighborhood

Gotta love a place with "to go" beers (however unofficial they may be)...Pizza was good and cheap. Its not too crowded. We ate here quickly before we caught a show. Fun little place but I'd only go here if I had to be in that neighborhood.

Last night was my second visit to Pronto Pizza-- and I'm sure it won't be my last! Although both times I've visited it's only been a brief snack-and-drink kind of meal, I'm always wishing I was actually hungry so that I could try the many flavors of pizza that tempt me from behind the glass!

While this is certainly not a place to go for a night out on the town, no one can complain about the fact that the beers (all of them-- draft or bottled, domestic or imported) are only about $3.50! I don't think there are many better deals than that around this part of Manhattan-- and certainly not outside the constraints of a Happy Hour!!

The staff is friendly, the few things I've tried (i.e. the garlic knots) have been delicious and inexpensive, and there's plenty of casual seating if you're in the mood to hang out (not to mention, there's a fully loaded bar!). Pronto Pizza is the perfect place if you're looking for a quick bite that's cheap for the money, but not for the quality of taste and service!

This place is around the corner from my office. Its quick and easy, nice and cheesy!

Solid, not too greasy, ample cheese and toppings on a sturdy yet fluffy crust. Various combinations available.  Staff is pleasant and attentive and offers good suggestions.  I grabbed an old standard - pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and extra cheese.  Throw in a beverage and you've got a reasonable priced quick lunch.

This location has plenty of seating and a full service bar.  Atmosphere is like a "mini" bar minus the obnoxious drunk, hooker or "client 9" type.  The space is nice enough to sit back and enjoy your pizza without feeling rushed - so kick back and enjoy.

One of my favorite places on the way to my Port Authority.

The pizza had a perfect combination of grease and cheese.  The pepperoni placement was undeniably flawless - barely any space between them.

Extra plus for having a bar and some great beer.

Cheap, quick, and satisfying. I'll take that any day.

Stopped by Pronto Pizza on a whim with a group of friends before hopping a subway to the homeland. The pizza looked good, but for some reason I was lured by the gnocchi. Thankfully, my dining partner was feeling it too so we split the pasta dish and some garlic knots.

The pasta was piping hot but delicious. The garlic knots were cheap (2.50 for four of them). The sauce that came in a too-tiny-to-dip container was not as good as the sauce on the gnocchi so I made a little swap.

The staff was friendly and I would definitely go back to grab a pizza slice and draft beer that was readily available. An ideal place to hit up after leaving the office when you just want your spirits lifted before you have to head to work the very next day.

Pizza in big slices and little prices delivered like its a crisis?  Pronto Pizza thrives on this ridiculous free style line I just wrote as they're a fast acting delivery chain who serve some of the most decent pizza in the area.  From each of my experiences with them, it has been fast, the delivery folks have been pleasant, and the pizza was able to satisfy everyone in my party.

The slices were huge, the pizza toppings were plentiful, and it was devoured nearly faster than it was delivered.  I wonder once they're busier and more popular if the pronto part will still be a part of their style.  Lets hope that it stays that way.

When at work, I sometimes get a ridiculous craving for pizza but realize that I am right near Times Square, which means it is probably damn near impossible to get a good slice.. until Pronto proved me wrong.

After getting a list of different slices to get for my co-workers, I went around to Pronto. It's pretty nice inside, full bar, no cheesy neon lights and really quick service.  I decided on a white slice with a spiral of marinara, for my coworkers.. plain slice, sausage and eggplant. Mine was really good and light. The crust is crisp but still manages to have a soft chewiness. The eggplant is just roasted, it seems -- not fried/breaded, which is good for the carb/health conscious. The sausage was plentiful, a little lacking in flavor but good and crispy.

Overall.. for four large slices, $14. Definitely not bad for the area, and the guy taking the money is full blown Italian and has his adorable little son next to him to wish you a good day. Love it!

This pizzeria is right around the corner from my office, so it's super convenient for lunch.  There's plenty of seating available, and the pizza is amazing.  The plain is great - the cheese and sauce are tasty and it's very filling.  One slice is definitely enough for lunch.  I've tried the tomato/bacon slice as well and it's very good.  Best pizza in the neighborhood!

Pretty cool spot on a Monday night.  Well, an ok spot with awesome specials.  For Monday night football you get a huge $5 pitcher of beer and half price wings.  Only 7 wings in an order but they were tasty.  They were not that saucy but full of flavor.  Bar was ok..not much enthusiasm and barely had anyone in there.  Small tvs with 1 large one.  This would be a good place to go to talk.  Will be back

(Tasty pizza too...a fave lunch spot)

Finding the ubiquitous slice of pizza in New York City is not all that different than finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. There are pizza places peppered all over the great city. Not as many as Starbucks locations, mind you, but a good representation of the food that best calls to mind New York.

I discovered this place years ago in its original location of 42nd and 6th Avenue, it was just as good then as it is now. Today it's atmosphere is a little more upscale with the addition of a nice little bar adjacent to the pizza serving area. So you can enjoy a few slices and a few pints if you like.

If you love pizza like I do, then I don't have to tell you that nothing beats pizza from New York City and Long Island. It's not just the dough, or the sauce, or even the water used to make the dough, it's also got the spirit of the NYC metro in its essence. Pizza just isn't the same to me anywhere but New York, just like a Philly Cheese steak is the best in Philadelphia, Jambalaya in New Orleans, or Cuban cuisine outside of Calle Ocho. Trust me on this. Local cuisine always reigns supreme in its home turf, no doubt about it.

Pronto Pizza, at least this one I am familiar with, has huge slices. The sauce is flavorful and delicious, the crust is nice and crunchy, and the cheeses melt with delight in your mouth. You can get just about any pizza topping your heart desires. The plain cheese is a seminal favorite of mine, followed by the tasty yet calorie laden pepperoni. They also have calzones, strombolis, and meatball heroes. I have no doubt all those are good, but it's that magical pizza that brings me back to Pronto.

Pronto Pizza is conveniently located near Times Square and Bryant Park. If you are wandering around the area and find yourself craving some authentic New York pizza, you should stop by Pronto Pizza and enjoy the slice or slices of your choice. You will love it!

Eh, I gotta say that i wasn't impressed by this pizza. At 3 dollars a slice, I was expecting a quality slice. The sauce was way too sweet, which threw off everything. The crust was too chewy and had too much flour stuck on the bottom. The only redeeming part of the slice was the cheese, but even that was mediocre. It was very good quality mozzarella, but that was it-- nothing creative, and there was way too much of it.

Nothing special here, just an overpriced slice of middle-america-tasting pizza.

I was mislead by all the 4 star reviews.  The pizza here is Sbarro-quality (better than just edible but not great).  Skip the calzones.  They are precooked and barely reheated for you.  I can't even describe the cheese in them, and the crust was more functional than tasty.

If speed ranks higher than taste on your restaurant priorities, then perhaps Pronto is the place for you.

Although there are probably one trillion pizzarias in NYC...these guys actually serve up pie that's deserving of the label  "New York style Pizza".  The dough is soft, thick, and flavorful...yet the crust at the end of the slice manages to stay crispy. The sauce has all the right herbs and spices. The cheese is plentiful and greasy...very greasy...which  is how it should be.  If you're one of those types who dab their slice with napkins...fugghedaboutit! The goons that work there are classic New Yorkers as well...they rush you, they yell at you, and if you're not on your toes, they'll skip right past you to the next dim witted tourist!  I love new york!

Right down from Rockefeller Center. The size of the slices are standard. I ordered 2 slices of Italian sausage and a Corona = $7.00! Good crust, great sausage, excellent cheesiness factor. Service is fast, the cashier lady is nice and just glad the tables didnt have anything sticky on them when i rested my elbows to eat. Yeeee

First of all, why aren't there any places like this where I live? A good ol' pizza place that's cut in half and a full casual bar on the other side. I'm sure this place does a good lunch being a short walk from Bryant park, but I enjoy the fact that when you go in there... it's pretty empty. still there are a bunch of pizzas out no matter what time, and there great. empenadas and garlic knots. Order up from the friendly servers and eat in the no frills restaurant area, or eat in the bar area or at the bar and have a refreshing beer. This place is so simple but brings alot to the plate... so to speak..stop in if your in the area.  A few steps from Bryant park.

I work right above Pronto and it was love at first bite.  The pizza is great.  And absolutely always hits the spot. This isn't the pizza with the incredibly thin brick oven greatness that you will find at grimaldi's or l'asso, but it is the IDEAL slice for folding over and pairing with a beer.  (and there is just something about their crust)

ALSO... for my co-workers and I this is our Friday night happy hour tradition.  For what only can be described as $5 big-gulp beer, you would be an absolute fool to go anywhere else.
