went for my first time today (i just moved to MV from SF)...and here's my scoop (FYI - i got pedis every 2 weeks from a couple places in the city that did a FAB job):
manicure: awesome. maybe the best i've ever had in terms of getting the shape and length totally perfect right out of the gate (note - i always get my nails buffed - i'm a goof with polish on the fngers)
pedicure: also pretty darn good - i just am not sure i like the color i picked!
massage: the massage for both the mani and the pedi were much longer than the usual (for a cheapy walk-in place). i was impressed. i even started dozing off - felt so good!
chairs: whatever you do - try to avoid the pedi chair against the wall. the massage buttons are totally screwed up and i ended up with all these totally annoying knobbies poking uncomfortably into my back. thank god they had a pillow for me!
the place is kinda old-school and the decor is shameful - but for $28 and a great result - i'll be back for sure.
I went here based on the reviews, and was disappointed. I got a pink & white set, and they were so thin and flimsy, I was afraid to touch anything. She shaped them well, but they didn't look good. And instead of a real pink, it was more of an off white. Was not cheap either, and I could tell she didn't want to be doing it. To top it off, they lasted less than a week. I'm not going back.
This is my all-time favorite nail salon. I have been going here for 6 years now and have never been disappointed with a mani or pedi here.
There are only 2 stations for manicures and 2 chairs for pedicures, so it's a good idea to make an appointment. They are open Monday-Saturday, from 10am to 7pm (I think) and the head technician is a very sweet woman.
The prices are really good and they have a huge selection of polish colors from OPI and Chanel, as well as other "professional" brands. They also offer a wide variety of nail art and have a large "menu" if you will to choose from.
From acrylics to white and pink to regular mani/pedi, Pro Nails is the best. There is already a large number of regulars so I'm hesitate to share them with the world, but they are too good not to be bragged about :)
I gave three stars because the price list is really reasonnable (cheapest I have ever seen) and they executed fast. Otherwise, the salon is outdated, small, messy, and I am not even sure that it is clean.
If I have to spend 1 hour 1/2 in a salon, I want to enjoy it and relax, well, I couldn't wait to get out! I am willing to pay $10 or $15 more to get a real salon experience.
