Neighborhood: Galleria/UptownI was fortunate enough to get paired up with a great bridal consultant , Anne, who went above and beyond to find the perfect dress for me. I saw a dress I really liked at a local fashion show so I went into the store to try in on. Since i went into the store the week after the show, the dress was tailored for the model wearing it which was a size 4- I am a size 8 so needless to say it didnt fit! I was disappointed because I really wanted to try it on and make a decision on the dress. Anne showed me a few other gorgeous gowns but I still had my heart set on the other dress. I left the store and a few days later got a call from Anne stating that she found the dress in their Boston store. She had is transferred over to Houston just so I could try it on, when I went in and tried it on- it was the winner! If it had not been for her taking the initiative to find the dress somewhere else, I would still be looking for the perfect gown.
I ordered the dress and made some special customizations to it (which of course cost extra). When I went in for my first fitting, the alterations lady was more than nice BUT be prepared to fork out a hefty amount for the alterations. The price to hem the dress and make the bustle was over $650! I was not expecting it to cost this much, and this is not something they really tell you when you decide to purchase the gown. Keep this in mind if you buy a dress from there, you can always take it somewhere else for the alterations because they are very expensive in house!

I've waited a few days for my annoyance to go away, but I'm still more than a little irked at Priscilla of Boston. I met a some friends at their boutique and though the women were friendly and helpful with me finding my group (not hard since there were only two groups in the whole store), they fell off the face of the earth for the rest of the visit. Evidently they have a rule that if you do not make an appointment that they will not help you. I can understand how this can come into play when you're busy or if you have customers, but the other group left almost immediately after we arrived and so there really was no reason for them to ignore us. To top it off, because we didn't have an appointment, we were only allowed to look at the clearance items.
From what I could tell of the non-clearance items, their dresses were well made and beautiful. However, from the paltry selection that we were given, the dresses were dirty and worn just a few too many times to be given such a slight discount. In the fine print, they made it clear that any stains that couldn't be removed from the clearance dresses would not be the responsibility of the store--very understandable except that again, the markdown was not enough to take a risk and buy a dress that may or may not clean up well.
As we were leaving, we watched all four of the employees just sitting around and talking. They did offer to schedule us an appointment for 5 that same day, but seeing as how unhelpful they were, we all felt it was time to go and not come back.
I'll admit that 9/10 times I'd prefer someone to make an appointment with me before barging into my office, however if someone has come all the way across campus (or in this case from The Woodlands), I'll definitely find time to squeeze them in. Seeing as how the saleladies were just gossiping, I'm not sure how it could've been an inconvenience for them to help us out. I'm assuming they don't work on commission.
If you're dying to have a Priscilla dress, this may be your only option, but I would definitely check out a few more stores before just popping by.

I've always loved the dresses from Priscilla from their ads and their website, so I was really excited to know that there was a boutique in Houston. I had an appointment with Sarah to try on wedding gowns. She was highly professional and so sweet! After trying on a few dresses, we determined which style suited me best, and then she brought out a few other dresses that were gorgeous. Sarah had an amazing eye for what looked best on my figure and was so genuinely nice! Keep in mind that dresses will take about 4-6 months to arrive and allow another month for alterations.
