I just had to visit this place infamous for its little white dog and strange owner.  I had heard strange stories of various encounters from some brides on a wedding planning forum.

The owner was nowhere to be found but I did see the dog.  It was dirty, tangled, and matted and was sleeping in a small heap near some dresses by the door.

I tried on 3 dresses.  Each time I tried a dress on, the salesperson stood inside the tiny dressing room with me.  DO wear decent undergarments as they will be on show to whoever helps you into the dresses.

I wasn't impressed by the dresses I tried on, nor was I particularly impressed with their service.  One thing I did like and appreciate was the little basket of snacks (crackers and rice krispies treats) set on a small table by the dressing rooms.  It's a nice touch to keep the friends and family happy while the bride is busy in the dressing room!

If you want to meet the most annoying bridal & formal wear salesman in the world, visit this store.  I sooo wanted to say, "I thought this was a bridal shop, not a used car dealership...".  The guy would just NOT shut up.

A sampling of his rambling, "It's the line.  I tell you, in my 18 years in this business, this is the nicest dress.  Cuz da line.  The line, yeah?  I promise you, you're going to love this one.  Isn't it beautiful?  There's this thing called aesthetically pleasing.  The line is so nice.  A beautiful dress is wonderful because it will make you feel beautiful.  That's why you want a beautiful dress."  No shit!  I thought brides want to look fat and ugly in an ugly dress so we can feel fat and ugly...  He wouldn't just let us look at the dresses and talk amongst ourselves!

I had a hard time keeping myself from making wise-ass comments.  When I said, "Reeaally?  Yeah..." in a condescending tone my sister and mom glared at me to shut me up.  But when the guy went away (for 2 seconds) my mom said, "I know, I know.  Just ignore him."

Besides the annoying salesperson, I didn't like this store because it was the most expensive of the 3 bridal shops that we visited that day, and they said that if my sister wanted to reserve the dress she liked (for $1200!), she had to decide right then.  And they were bitchy when I was going to take a picture of my sister putting a dress on.  It's one thing to say, "Oh, I'm sorry, but we don't allow our dresses to be photographed before purchase.", but it's an entirely different and rude thing to say, "NO pictures!  No pictures!"  Geez, I didn't know!  Where's the fricking sign?!

We ended up finding a great wedding dress for my sister elsewhere for 1/4 the cost.  When I shop for my own dress, I'll be sure to pass on a visit to this store!  No, thank you!

I went in w/o an appt but they were accommodating. I tried on several dresses and their prices were ok but they have lots of beads/ lace/ crystal on them and I was looking for something more plain. If you're looking for something simple, this is probably not the place. Bridesmaid dress prices appeared reasonable and they had a pretty good selection.

The owner is definitely a character here. I totally agree with Cynthia A. about his ramblings, which one friend found hilarious, and another friend found annoying. He kept talking about this dress he wanted me to try on (with lots of lace and beading), how I should get that dress (for over $1,000 and I didn't even LIKE it) because it made the 'line, yeah, look good' - sigh.

Cynthia, your picture is hillarious!

I came to this store so many times and I never bought anything for myself. It was always for a bridesmaid dress, or just browsing for mine and a friend's wedding.

Yes, the owner could be described as "strange." I mean, he has his dog running around the store. I have heard of many horror stories about him. I didn't get a piss off moment, but one day when my bridesmaid (4'11") and I were looking for some dresses, he came up and rudely said "What school?"

We were like "Heh?" but then realized that he thought we were looking for prom dresses. We told him we're looking for bridesmaid dresses. He didn't help us after that. Maybe he was so shocked that we looked so young!? Haha.

The reason why I chose to look here for a bridesmaid dress because they used to have the best brands (I forgot the name already!) but don't go there now because now the styles they carry are so ugly and "Love Boat" ish.

I ended up getting my wedding dress at Do's Formal in Chinatown and my bridesmaid dresses from Masako Formals.

The owner's wife, BTW...is REAAAAAALY nice.

After a long search for a wedding gown at numerous stores that even included stores on the mainland, I finally found what I was looking for here.  It was simple yet absolutely everything I wanted my dress to look like.  The older sales woman was extremely pleasant and very nice.
I purchased the dress back in January and was told that the dress would be ready for my first fitting in the beginning part of June.  Towards the end of June came around and I haven't heard anything from them so I decided to call.  They told me that the dress would be here during the first week of July instead at which time they would give me a call.  Okay, so the first week of July passed and no call.  I start to get worried being that my wedding is on 8/8/09.  I call them again and they said that they will call the designer to see where the dress is and they will give me a call tomorrow.  So the next day passes by.....then a week passes by and no call.  I call them AGAIN and was told that they were sorry & the dress will be in next week (the 10th).  They call me on the 10th and left me a message saying that the dress was here.  I called them back and then was told that the dress that came in was in.....get this......was in the WRONG COLOR! WTF?
I went to pick up the dress the following day.  It was not the color I wanted, but what am I suppose to do with 3wks until my wedding?  I wasn't about to have them alter it, so I took it somewhere else.
I then find out that they ordered it in the wrong size.  They said that I was an 8, I told them that I am planning on losing weight so order me a 6.  They didn't want to, but I kept insisting.  So my dress came in the size 6.  When I tried the dress on it was so big.  The seamstress looked at the measurements that princess brides took and compared it to the designers size charting & showed me that with the measurements that I had before I was a size 6 and since I wanted it 1 size smaller I should have gotten a 4. So now the dress does not fit right and will need tons of alterations, on top of that, an added expense with rush fees!

i dropped by the store in march of this year to check out some wedding dresses. when i entered no one acknowledged me or asked if i needed help, etc. at first thought, i reasoned in my little brain that the owner and his wife were assisting someone, which was why no one even said 'hi!' to me. however, after 15 minutes of browsing, it appeared he finally 'noticed' me but didn't choose to say anything (i guess it doesn't help i'm the timid type!)  i didn't mind though b/c i know what his 'conversations' are like and i wasn't about to be dragged into one. but, what really got me was that he acknowledged and helped this high school couple who came in looking for prom dresses who came in after me! how rude.

some of the wedding dresses are somewhat 'nice'...like another reviewer mentioned, a lot of beads, crystals, and the like are found on many of the dresses. he really doesn't carry the 'simple, sleek' wedding dress...

i guess all in all, there were only two things i found 'good.' his doggie is cute, and he carries a variety of sample sizes in his wedding gowns. needless to say i won't ever go to his store again.

This place was so disappointing. With such a cute name, i was expecting a wedding fantasy-land, but it was horrible.  When i walked in, I had no idea who worked there.  There was dresses squashed on racks, making barely enough room to walk around while trying to look.  The choices were horrible, the salespeople (once i located them) knew nothing.  They tried talking me into a style that i didn't want.  They made me try on their dirty shoes when i tried on a dress.   I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
