If you are in Miami eat here. Trust me. Just do it. The place is amazing. Get the Kobe Meatball and any other piece of meat on the menu. Everything that we ordered here was absolutely perfect. The sides are very large so make sure you are hungry and don't forget reservations because this place is impossibly to get in to without them. We had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. But the wait was well worth it. This place is also right around the corner from some great bars and clubs so it's a great spot to start your night off at.
i just have to tell the story about being seated at a 4 top in front of a stainless steel elevator door (literally in front of it). We asked if there would be anyone coming down the elevator to which our waiter scoffed at our absurd question. Not 5 minutes later did the doors open and a huge man walk INTO our table. This place is over-rated. It is so not worth the sheer hassle of trying to walk around this place. I gave it two stars only because our other dining experiences there haven't lead to a man landing on our table. That was a very unusual experience!
The food- boring. The wine list- expected. The decor- beachy looking house outside, "steak-house" look inside.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants and I highly recommend dinner here. The filet was good and the banana cheese cake was by far the best dessert I have ever had. Not at all touristy like most of the restaurants on Ocean. The only negative is street parking can be difficult to find.
Let me preface by saying my awesome friend (we'll call him Shady S) hooked us up with this place, without it apparently you have to wait hours just to sit down with a reservation! We had dinner for 6 and loved it. The service, menu, food, atmosphere, everything was excellent!!! We ordered too many appetizers - the kobe meatball (devoured!), caesar salad (perfect, but why waste stomach space on lettuce!) and crab cake (YUMMM!). Then we all got steaks - cooked perfectly but HUGE. My friend and I SHARED a 12 oz. filet...we could have shared the 8 oz. The sides were even better...brocolli rabe and brussel sprouts were perfect...and I would fly back to Miami just to have their macaroni and cheese again. OMGGG!
Warning: bad idea to eat this much food before going out. I couldn't drink vodka for at least 2 hours after b/c I was so full!
The place to be seen....PERIOD! I don't like the Steak at all! The crabcake is really good. They have really great salads and side dishes. I have dined beside several celebrities here.....dress to impress!!! Maybe you will spark someone's interest!!!
Sceney, crowded, great food, reasonable prices (by New York standards, at least.) My friend pointed out some sports celebrities, who, of course, I didn't recognize.
Location isn't the best since it's way at the bottom of South Beach
Oh Prime .... Devil eggs... hummm thinking about prime 112 gets me hungry.... Prime 112 has great food, the best Goat cheese salad and Devil eggs i ever had. Great sea bass and Dover sole... The steak is very taste and the side orders are unforgettable, you must try the truffle oil mac and cheese. Prime is the place to see and be seen , very trendy and expensive but if you are a tourist I'm Miami you must stop by and don't forget to make a reservation in advance. I promise that if you are into trendy and great meals you wont be disappointed.
You have to be prepared to run into celebrities like Michael Jordan, Usher, Celine Dion, Mike Tyson... and more.
I really enjoy having dinner at prime it's better to go on Thursday than Friday cuz it tends to get really busy and you may have to wait couple hours for a table even if you have a reservation.
stop by and enjoy!
Would have given it six stars, but the nearly cliched atitude of the employees left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
We sat outside, and the scenary on Ocean in South Beach was what you'd expect at night -- impossibly thin, scantily dressed women and the men who ogle them.
I asked the waiter if any celebrities at there and he said The Rock was in the night before and Prince Charles dined privately last month. So they have quite the A list crowd. Be prepared to wait until everyone from your party is there before they seat you (don't they know that we'll order more booze if they give us a chair?).
First the good news: One of the top 10 steaks I've eaten in my life. For months, every other tasty cut will surely appear to be doing a poor imitation of the A5 Kobe beef at Prime112. The meat was sublime.
The raw bar (lobster, stone crab, oysters) was fresh and firm, and had color and presentation. Had an interesting presentation of roasted bone marrow. Mmmm. Marrow.
The sides were heavenly. Scalloped potatoes and a nice garlic mash was expertly prepared with just the right amount of truffle oil. The broccoli was good, but a bit doused in cheese sauce.
The bread was freshly baked and crunchy on the outside, hot and smooshy on the inside.
Had a couple of bottles of excellent, way over-priced Pinot Noir, excellently presented by a cheerful waiter.
But the attitude, oh, that snooty attitude you only see at places where management hasn't bought a new calendar since 1987. Listen, buddy, if I'm going to drop $300/person on food at a joint, I want snappy, friendly service. I don't care if the hostess is moonlighting from her supermodel job, if I'm your customer, smile. Make eye contact. Offer me a mint. Anything.
Would I go there again? Yes, for the steak, in a minute. Try sitting at the bar. Who knows? You could end up between a Rock and a Prince Chuck.
I had a great time that night, but the food was not exactly memorable. Partly at least because it's a steak restaurant, and I don't eat steak. VERY good people watching, especially if you sit outside. This is definitely a restaurant that wants to be hip.

I will save everyone sometime and agree with most everyone else on this review.....total scene. If you are into it then this is place for you. If you prefer a great meal w/o the fan fare probably not for you (however, the upstairs rooms are quaint). Nevertheless, this place is it if are want to be part of the it crowd (unless you are Starr Jones who was having trouble getting a table on Friday night).
As for the food.....WOW. The only downside is that the portions are too big and are not conducive to small parties (as they are served family style). If possible go with a medium size crew 4-6 people. Make a reservation, check-in and then go grab a drink across the street (Vivi) until your table is ready.
Too expensive, tables are very close to each other, loud and overcrowded. I found the same quality meat few blocks from them... 'The Smoking Rabbit', a gastro-pub. Steak is really good and their hamburgers... mm... out of this world!
I give Prime One Twelve 2 stars for service and food. The shrimp cocktail was delicious, they were huge and tasty, the salad; okay but not really anything to write about, the ribeye for two was aged to perfection but slightly undercooked to my request... Medium Rare... not Rare..
Ambiance, well, it's mediocre. I say this with a grain of salt, as I know this is the hot spot that everyone wants to go, the Heat, the Dolphins, the High Rollers and most of all the Bling Bling... It's fun, it's a scene it's a great place to grab a drink.. but not first on my list to grab a meal where you can enjoy your company for hours.. it was loud, I felt rushed and most of all a little over it.
Maybe it's better for lunch.. or when it's not such a scene. My favorite part was the bartender.. he had a huge smile upon his face and made sure I was getting the attention I deserved...

This was a really good steakhouse. I visited Miami for a wedding and my ex and I took the bride and groom to dinner here. The food was really good. As for the atmosphere, I liked it, it had a bit of a party feel. It was loud and the seating was close quarters but this is south beach and south beach is a party town right? I dug this place and I'll definitely go again. I'd rate this up at the top with some of my other favorites around the country. It ain't cheap but then you probably knew that when you decided to read the reviews about this place, right?

I can't recommend this place. Okay I'm a food snob from San Francisco, so I'm more about the food then about the scene. I had three major problems with this restaurant:
1. Super loud
I'm not talking about loud, I'm talking about super loud. I could barely talk to my brother who was 2 feet away.
2. Packed in seating
Tables are almost on top of each other and it felt like we were dining with another couple. Also my chair was near the path to the kitchen which meant every couple minutes I'd get bumped by someone, super stressful and impossible for me to enjoy my food.
3. Rushed service
I guess it's all about the table turns. Our waiter blazed in and blazed out. The pinot noir he recommended was watery and we felt like he was pushing our meal along the whole way through.
Alright Jeremy, but what about the food?
Not bad, but everything was supersized and extremely rich. The fois gras was the largest serving I've seen, but was tasty and went well with the pineapple puree. My rib eye was equally gargantuan and was properly cooked.
Had the ambiance and service been better (or even normal) I'd have given it four stars, but as the saying goes... too much sizzle, not enough steak.

Sunday Evening, 7:30pm reservations.
Waited by the bar until our "entire party" was present, since they would not seat us until that time. The bar was hardly large enough for a person to stand behind the chairs and there was an unfortunate table that was practically in the bar (avoid!). We (party of 8) sat outside by the sidewalk and were able to watch the over priced cars cruising by. The other diners outside consisted of couples and a group of cheap dressed, plastic infused, Barbies with their gay entourage and children and little dog.
Sitting outside meant putting up with people smoking cigs (both on the deck and by the front door), not favored when trying to enjoy the sublte flavors of a steakhouse.
The Food
--Apps --
Huge seafood platter. Jumbo shrimp - not very flavorful. Poke tuna - good. Crab Claws & Clams - I don't do these.
Kobe Meatball - really good! HUGE!
Bone Marrow - didn't try it, looked nasty and fatty.
--Side Dishes --
Steamed Broccoli w/Chedder - more like cheeze whiz, very unappealing.
Scalloped Parmesan Potatoes - piping hot, pretty good.
Sauteed Forest Mushrooms - yummy
Creamed Corn w/ Black Truffles - sounds better than it was.
--Main Dishes--
I had 8oz Filet Med-Rare - Odd side gave way to uneven cooking so some was med and other parts were almost well done. Well always tastes like sirloin/burger to me. Not easily eaten with only a fork, kinda rough. I was honeslty really disappointed in the steak.
4oz Kobe - excellent! One of the few places you can get a Kobe steak in the US. Be prepared to pay for it at $25/oz!
Sea Bass - reviews were high from the table, one of the specialties and Prime One Twelve
Jumbo Fried Shrimp - Huge, okay overall.
-- Dessert --
Warm Dulce De Leche Bread Pudding - massive, could feed 4 people. Good, more bread than pudding though. Hot and melty!
Overall -- For the price and the overall atmosphere of the place it was a let down. The crowd was low-class wanna be's and you *had* to have a reservation. Flashy cars preferred. Boob jobs a must (maybe this is just Miami though?). Kobe was great, filet was diner quality. Service was 7/10 attentive (even though the waiter was wildly gesticulating and ended up marking my blouse with his pen!). Side dishes left a lot to be desired and they kept running out of the wine selections we started on. Thankfully the meal was not paid for by me. I'd go back for the Kobe on someone else's card.
Good food even though its a little pricey, i wouldnt mind eatting here.
The wife and I went here in June of 2006. And you know what?? The drinks, appetizers, service and side dishes were all great!! But the steak itself?? It was just OK and didn't justify the price of eating here. Ruth's Chris filet is better than the one here!!
Dinner Reservations at 10:00pm. Packed with beautiful people. Got a Jack and Diet at the Bar. Still Packed. Seated at 10:30pm. Then the fun begins...
Another Jack and Diet
Pan Seared Diver Scallops Appetizer
8 oz. Filet Mignon w/ 112 Steak Sauce & Gorgonzola
Four Cheese Truffle "Mac"
Creamed Spinach with Crispy Shallots
Double Jack and Diet for Dessert
Definitely lived up to the "hype". The food was excellent, our waiter was fantastic and timely, great buzz and energy that complimented the night, oh yeah and to add to the celebrity list like everyone else; sat next to Timbaland.
Can you ask for anything more?! Absolutely fantastic, see you next year!

I visited this place this past month during an annual girls trip. We shared a bottle of wine and us 4 shared a beefsteak tomato and onion salad. Yes, the salad was that big that us 4 comfortably could share a good portion of the salad. We then each ordered the 8 oz filet. The filet was very good and juicy. Everything here is in large proportions so our waiter recommended we split a couple of side items to accompany our filets. We ordered the white truffle french fries and the creamed spinach and they were both delish! Besides the delicious food, this is a hot spot for the chic SOBE crowd as well as a great place to look for celebs. We ended up sighting Mark Wahlberg dining with his dad as well as other members of his family towards the end of our dinner.

This place definitely lived up to the hype and buzz. I've been to most of the top steak houses in NYC, Chicago, etc and this place matches/surpasses the best of them. Unlike some of the reviews here, we received outstanding service. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable , never rushed us despite the huge crowd, and very helpful with menu & wine suggestions. It's definitely a "scene" (some of the Phoenix Suns were there the night we were...) but that's all part of the fun here. Great place to go with friends or clients. The scallops appetizer might have been the best I've ever eaten and the truffle mac n cheese is insane. We were too full to try the desserts but they looked incredible. I would highly recommend this place if you're going to SoBe.
Visited Miami for the first time last May with a group of girl friends and when asking around for some good eats Prime 112 came highly recommended from just about everyone we asked.
The entrance, hallway and bar was overflowing with people waiting for their tables. As soon as I walked in I figured out ahhhh ... it's one of those places. The patrons were impeccably dressed ... though have to agree with Lindley ... a whole lot of older (may I add pervy) men hitting on younger women. A friend of ours even got propositioned by someone 30 yrs her senior ... really, is that what it's like in Miami? I didn't even attempt to walk into the bar area ... it looked like a sea of dudes pressed up next to each other. The decor was classy but not too pretentious. There's a cute little table right up front next between the entrance and bar that I'd suggest if you're not so much there for the food (what?!) but to people watch (and don't mind getting knocked into by passersby).
Twenty-five minutes (even though we had a reservation) and a glass of sauvignon blanc later we were finally chaffeured through a PACKED room to our floor to our booth to ceiling leather upholstered corner (gorgeous and cozy, perfect for our group of 6). The folks at Prime 112 are pushing the limits of space ... there was a table literally less than a foot away from the edge. Dining room was LOUD as heck ...definitely not a place to bring a date unless you were fortunate to get the private table on the upstairs patio.
Ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon, a side of the four cheese MAC with a FABULOUS cabernet (I'm beating myself up for not writing the name down ...) suggested by the super friendly waiter. Prior to Prime 112, Morton's was my steakhouse of choice, but let me tell you ... Prime 112 knocked it out of the ballpark. They offer a choice of several types of sauces as accompanients and I thought the bernaise tasted mightly fine. I did my happy-love the food so much I'm dancing in my seat - dance. Seriously. I didn't want the magic in my mouth to stop ... FANTASTIC. Everyone at the table ordered different entrees (fish? blasphemy! It's a steakhouse! When in Rome ...), but the consensus was still the same ... one friend even went so far as to say it was the best meal she's had in YEARS.
Overall, I was blown away and would tell everyone I know if you're ever in Miami, Prime 112 is a MUST. Aside from the crowd (yes, it's a scene and there were alot of old guys preying on young gals), this place is well worth the price and wait. Loved it. Actually, now that I think about it again I'm totally craving it ... Wish there was a Prime 112 in LA :(

Prime One Twelve is a superb Steak House especially for South Beach. Located on South Ocean Drive which is the quieter end the restaurant is part of a very small Boutique Hotel. The decor is very elegant with dark woods and light colors and glass and more modern. The crowd is mix but mostly mid thirties and mostly upwards of forty and up. The food is on par with great steak houses in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. The bar is area is a good size and the dining room area is broken up around the whole space. The wine list is very good and the cocktails are very good as well. I have only dined here six times and have had a good experience in both the bar and dining rooms. It is definitely good for dining alone at the bar or date or with a large group. You will be pleasantly surprised that South Beach has such a great Steak House. Parking is available on the street as well as valet.
Truly enjoyed this spot. PACKED! Almost impossible to get a reservation, at times. Everything tasted delicious! ... which is hard to find in florida ( in my opinion). Crab crusted grouper was delicious and the NY strip was tender. The kobe beef burger app was also very tender and juicy! I can't get enough of their smores dessert!

In South Beach there are must go places to eat and Prime 112 is one of them. The atmosphere is electric as you wait over an hour for your table, this is with reservations, as you watch Bentley GT and Phantoms pull up and watch Russell Simmons get out. If the hostess tells you they can seat you upstairs immedicately, deny it. Upstair dining is a huge bore, no atmosphere at all. Steaks basically melt in your mouth and the family style sides are amazing. You have to try the hash browns. The most entertaining part of every dinner I've had there and I've had my share is listening to everyone around you talk about their accomplishments and what they got. Its hilarious.

Here goes my first review....I'm going to take a bit of an organized approach to this following close behind the heels of the great culinary bible, Zagat.
FOOD: Mixed emotions here. Loved that they served real fatty, juicy sliced bacon as a starter, nicely presented in silver goblets; I must have eaten a whole pig on my own. Also loved the truffle mac n cheese...very rich, but yum! So far, so good, but then comes the main entree. I ordered the petit filet, medium rare and was served petit filet, well-done. And for a 4 oz. portion, two bites into it and you're halfway done with the meal. Needless to say, all the life had been sucked out of it and it felt more like beef jerky. 3 stars....but only because the family-style sides were stellar.
DECOR: I'd describe it as standard SoBe. White on dark wood with candles. Clean lines. Nothing that bedazzled me. 3 stars...I do like modern.
SERVICE: Below average. I'd expect service to be remarkable at $100pp. 2 stars...because I think my filet was switched on me. At a first-class joint like this, steak orders should not be confused. Come on, guys...it's not rocket science.
SCENE: Or should I say, "Be seen"? 4 stars...
TRIVIA: For all you truffle-luvahs, how are truffles harvested?
What am I doing eating steak in Miami when I'm from New York.
I'm having fun, that's what I'm doing.
Prime 112 is a scene, no doubt about it. And scenes are fine, as long as the food and service don't suffer terribly as a result. I was down in Miami in July (not exactly high season as far as I know) and the place was packed, with more than its fair share of (perhaps artificially but nonetheless) beautiful people. I sat at the bar, bantered with the friendly bartender (who let me have a glass from a bottle of Tignanello that some table didn't finish -- okay, so there are some dumb customers here), met some random people (one of whom turned out to be the owner of a Super Bowl ring, but um... I forget his name), and somehow downed the ribeye and the ridiculously rich truffled creamed corn.
As far as I was concerned, the food was better than it needed to be. Admittedly, I might have thought that because I hadn't slept the night before and spent all day out on the beach drinking cocktails under the sun. Service at the bar was definitely warm and attentive, though. I can't wait to go back there during this year's WMC.
UPDATE: So on my last visit (during the 2007 WMC), the steak and the corn were just as delicious as I remembered, and the service was just as friendly and professional. The bonus this time around was that they had stone crab claws, thus saving me a trip to Joe's. But -- $45 a claw?!? Good lord. Well, you only live once. And then you die broke.

My last few trips to Prime 112 have been very hit or miss lately -entrees that is. They have great sides that are enough for the table to share. The Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Plaintains, Brussel Sprouts and even salads are exceptional. (One would almost be tempted to go all side dish with maybe one entree)
Desserts surprisingly just aren't what they should be....though I did have a good peach/berry pie that was their special a few weeks back.
Crowd is your typical SoBe crew, models, celebs and other pretty types. Tables anre cramped to the point where you feel you are part of your neighbors conversation. Worth the trip though.
oh.my.god.
What is the deal with Miami? Are all of you insane?
I've never seen a scene like this. Old coots with young girls fresh from breast augmentation surgery. Tables crammed into narrow hallways, right next to the bathroom. A bar so narrow that yes, someone is going to rub up against you, and you probably won't like it. Old ugly dudes with too much money offering drinks to young women who know better.
This place was my idea of purgatory. For those of you unfamiliar with words of more than two syllables, "personal hell" will work too.
To be fair, the food was good, but not great, and suffered from an overreliance on and a heavy hand with truffle oil. STOP THE MADNESS!. Appetizers we ordered included crab cake with way too much mayo, a majestic tower of cold shellfish, way overdone foie gras, Kobe "sliders", and deviled eggs. Of those, the Shellfish tower was the only truly perfect dish - how could you go wrong during stone crab season? The deviled eggs were also very good but were redolent -- no, STANKY, with truffle oil.
(as an aside - my caproinha was very good...but my boobs weren't big enough to get refills for free).
Our entrees were too big. My salmon entree (supposedly wild) was enough to feed a small family. The grill marks were unappealing and amateurish - no cross hatch, just a simple chunky dark line. My potatoes were doused in truffle oil, which made me gag.
The sides were more fun to eat, but again were over-truffled. Creamed corn was dripping with truffle oil. At least the broccoli, served plain with a cheese sauce on the side, was completely plain. No truffle, no garlic...and no salt. Bless you Prime 112 for doing something without canned panache.
Desserts were a disaster. They were far too large, inelegant, and clunky to cap off an otherwise average meal. Our bread pudding was big enough to serve the same family mentioned above. A chocolate 'pudding' cake was more 'goo' than 'pudding', bananas foster cheesecake was the largest slice of cheesecake I'd ever seen, accompanied by a sloppy plate of gooey bananas, presumably cooked in the style of foster.
For a meal just a few steps above cheesecake factory, Prime 112 is not a good value. And for those who want to be seen -- by all means, please do go to this place. Presumably you won't be eating and you'll be spared the offense of paying too much for ample servings of mediocre fare.

Oh what a scene! This restaurant lived up to everything I heard and then some ... To be fair, we were dining here the week of Superbowl, so the crowd and vibe was likely escalated with the excitement of the week.
Even though we had 8:45p dinner reservations, we were not seated until 9:30pm. I must say that the wait was worth it as we were seated at one of the best seats in the house: the elevated front patio. Our waiter seemed bothered with the fact that he actually had to wait on tables - an interesting concept?!..? Once we got past this, we enjoyed the meal and sitting back, watching the cast of characters walk into the restaurant.
The "Double Wedge" salad was downright delicious! My steak was a perfect medium and the broccoli rabe and excellent veggie with a nice kick! After a few Miami Heat players rolled into the restaurant up drove Mike Ditka. The crew of kids waiting in front of the restaurant to snap celeb photos were quick to attention... What a nice way to end a fun experience at Prime One Twelve!

This seems to be a really hot South Beach dining destination - there was a Lamborghini or two parked out front, and I hear that Shaq (resident Miami famous person) visits a lot. Maybe it's my San Fran sensibility, but I found the place to be overwhelming and not in a good way. First of all, the place is crowded beyond belief and incredibly loud. You make a reservation, and then you still have to wait for an hour before sitting down, so the bar is packed. Secondly, it's full of people with fake everything - fake boobs, fake blonde hair, fake tan etc - it's like a gallery of plastic surgery post-op. Thirdly, the portions are gigantic. I thought the prices looked a bit steep, but when you consider the huge amounts of food that you get, it's not too bad. For example, a side order of mashed potatoes was a bowl large enough to feed a family of 4. Prime One Twelve is like any other steak house - I thought the food was good, but the experience was not overwhelming. As an eating experience it is 100% different than any fine dining you'd find in Northern California, so maybe that's my problem. I think it's much nicer than the Cheesecake Factory, but the overall experience - lots of people, waiting, very American fare - is somewhat reminiscent.....

i guess you'd have to be into this kind of place. i have a list of complaints (am i a grouch, or what?) but i'll only name a few.
1. smells like truffle and cheese when you walk in the door. not pleasant if you're not eating truffles or cheese at that moment. which i was not, so it smelled like feet.
2. we had that swanky table by the bar. guarantees you'll get smarmy guys ogling, and evil stares from jealous hoochies. glad we were only using one side of the table though because if you sat on the bar side, you would be getting smacked in the head repeatedly by harried waiters, or sloshy cougars. or that guy in the paisley shirt. it was very crowded, loud and yucky. does our willingness to pay outrageous prices not earn us some crowd control from the employees there?
3. food was good but not worth the hour we waited for it or the outrageous price. i was over the truffle mac before it came after smelling it for hours. it was more like a condiment than a side dish since they way overdid it. it was too... truffle-cheese-y. my friend's lobster sucked. she says she would have sent it back, but it had already been an hour. the crab cake was pretty good. and the cocktail sauce that came with the shrimp had a good wasabi kick. i recommend the veal and the scalloped potatoes if you have to eat here. definitely not the place to go for new and exciting dishes.
anyhoo, i like seeing and being seen as much as the next gal on south beach, but i didn't find this experience pleasant (though the hostess was nice and my friends are great). extra star because it's pretty, but i couldn't even drown myself in liquor to get through the waiting, the crowding, the ogling, the truffling, etc. because the drinks were so pricey.... pass.

I was just in South Beach for the night and my boyfriend and I tried Prime 112. The decor was very warm and inviting and I thought the staff would be rude, but it wasn't. We had impeccable service, our waiter Kevin, was just outstanding. We took his recommendations on everything and that's the one thing I'm regretting.
We started off with the Big Hawaiian Tuna appetizer. My boyfriend loved it. It was extremely fresh but the huge pieces of tuna was just too much for me. If the pieces would have been cut down smaller or something like that I probably would have enjoyed it more, but overall it was still very good. For our main course we got the 20 oz. New York Strip. I typically get the Fillet at every steak house I go to, but I went with Kevin's recommendation. While it was good, I would be willing to put money on the fact that I would have found the fillet to be delicious. We also got the peppercorn sauce, it was quite tasty. Picking a side proved to be difficult and we were looking at something with truffle oil and our waiter told us if we'd never had truffles before we should go with the mac and cheese with white truffle oil. I thought about and told him that since my boyfriend asked me to elope on our first date because he found out that I loved steak, mac and cheese and jack and cokes, why not? So we got the mac and cheese and it was very good. The cheese was a bit sharp but very tasty. We were extremely stuffed but we had to get dessert. Kevin told us that the fried oreos were the number one dessert. We got it. Let me tell you something, it was the greatest thing I have ever tasted. They were little pieces of heaven.
When I make it back to South Beach, will I go back to Prime 112, sure. Will I get the New York Strip, probably not, but I will be without a doubt ordering the most delicious food to ever touch my lips, the fried oreos.
If you're seeking a steak and a place to be seen, this is the it. The steaks and appetizers (try the Kobe Beef sliders) are wonderful. They have several different sauces on the side that you can enjoy with your steak. If you are with a group, you can also order your steaks family style. They will slice them up for you. BTW, for you big spenders, they have Kobe beef. You order it by the ounce.
Yes, it's a real scene, the tables are very close together, the bar is crowded and the valet parking is always a wait.
When we were there for a birthday dinner, my buddy kept bumping his chair into the guy with the football player neck sitting next to him. That guy ended up to be Warren Sapp, a pro football player and former Hurricane. He was dining with his agent. Another time my friend had a conversation with one of the stars from the L Word.

This place is sooo good. I live in Cali but still dream about the food I ate at this place. Every aspect of the food was amazing, appeitizers, cocktails, steak and dessert - it was all superb. We were just eating and minding out own business until all of the sudden there was this rising buzz/energy in the restaurant. So I look up from licking my plate and Michael Jordan + other players I really dont know are like 3 tables away from us. We didnt move for like 3 hours because I had the best unobstructed close up view of the greatest basketball player in history! Yes waiter - I'll have ANOTHER drink.
Primetime at Prime 112! My first trip to Miami, had no expectations since I was on a business trip coming from Vegas & Minnesota. When a friend suggested this place for drinks & dinner...I thought, here we go again. I miss California, I wanna go home!
But I had no idea the entire Hollywood would also be at this joint. Drinks were great, I had a cosmo (since it was still "the IT girly drink" last summer). Flavor was there, with adequate amount of vodka. We ran into Eddie Murphy, OJ Simpson, a bball player...and many others. We sat at a corner table, with awesome appetizers & side dishes. The steaks were, well, as good as it gets. We ordered mac & cheese, oysters were fantastic. Not a dish could go wrong.
Come here, it's worth the wait. Not only Primetime for your tummy, but with Hollywood starlets at your next tables, this is Primetime for your eyes as well.

Undoubtedly the best meat I've had in Miami. Every dish came with a fine touch to it. The kobe beef burger with some fois gras butter spread on top is very unique and tasty (make sure to order medium rare). The oysters rockefeller and the filet mignon are also remarkable.
An exquisite dining experience, however, be prepared to be patient. Even with reservation, the usual wait is about an hour at the bar, valeting a car adds 10 minutes before and after. Not a very romantic atmosphere: the tables are too close and the buzz takes away a fraction of the indulgence in your food. Reservations are a must, but the later they are, the better!.
Prime 112 is hands down the BEST steak house in Miami. For those that do not want to wait or are unable to secure a reservation, here is a tip: The same menue is offered at lunch time and there is never a wait!!! Prime 112, I love you.
Over-done steak is a terrible turn off in a restaurant such as this.
