Pride of Cleveland is just filled to the brim with experienced technicians, scooters and cafe racers, both new and old. Yes, there is a real air of superiority, especially with the vintage bikes/scooters, but you'll get that with any real scooter/cafehead.
Every time I've gone in there, be it to sit on some scooters and dream, or buy a new helmet, the staff is very helpful without being too pushy. They have an extensive amount of cool gear that you can't find at any other local bike/Harley shop so it's worth the trip especially if you're looking for a distinctive look.
The staff tries to steer you towards a quality vehicle that you'll be proud of. They sell primarily Stellas, Buddys and Vespas and have lots of cafe racers available too. Phil had the forethought to start buying and fixing them up years ago and just now are the cafe racers getting really hot so there are still lots to pick from. On the websiteand in the store, they do their best to advise against crappy quality Chinese knockoffs....I wish I'd read up on that BEFORE buying one on craigslist. (Side story: I had to get my stupid Chinese scooter fixed twice and there is a TOTAL of 60 miles on it. I think I put gas in it once....what a waste of money!!)
Speaking of shitty Chinese scooters - the mechanics in the back are very helpful even though they quite understandably hate the things. -

My mistake was not checking out the owner, Phil Waters or his retail operation. Called about a tire for my Vespa and was told in stock $55. Drove 60 miles round trip to find out they just sold out and all they had left was one $85 tire. Found out I was charged $30 over. tried to return the obviously unused/unmounted tire and was refused even though he has a written refund policy. Took it to BBB and even told him I would drop the complaint just donate the $30 to the American Cancer Society. Waters refused. Found out later that he has 6 consumer fraud complaints with the Ohio Attorney Generals Office and a criminal record with the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts Criminal Docket case # 491225, 486126 civil docket 563736. The criminal cases involve forgery and altering of official documents . This from a guy who states he was a former LEO with a Cleveland suburb. Buyer beware,

Love POC, Phil and Co. are terrific, love my "Buddy" (made by "Genuine Scooter Company") and the new store is beautiful.
