    4.0 star rating

Are you looking for a bold dynamic POWER flow yoga class? Like it when everyone knows your name? Like a fitness based, challenging class, that is doable for all levels? You will find it here, bear in mind, with some caveats.

Yoga studio is conveniently located in a small strip mall near Forsyth Medical Center. Class size ranges from 6-20 students on average, has large windows for abundant natural light , and a feeling of spaciousness that leaves the previous locale (Hawthorne Rd) in the dust.

Has full front mirrored wall & low pile carpet floor (like Bikram studios).
Shoes are removed upon entering directly into studio.

Additional parking & egress located behind building. A changing room and separate small bathroom are near back door.

Instructor & business woman Deb Lazer "runs the show" & efficiently instructs, not leads, the class. She is a unique character that appears straight from the 70's, look & all: hippy chic with frizzy curls, jeans & t-shirt, braless, tatoos, free spirited, & frank about her orientation- proudly liberal & gay.

California trained & confident, Deb knows her yoga material well & has had  years of teaching to develop her "style".  Her expertise, IMHO, is in creative, spontaneous sequencing of poses that blow most people's mind when it comes to her remembering & you doing on the other side.  Has good sense when cueing alignment/anatomical details & delivers firm/solid adjustments to students bringing them to their maximum limit/stretch. Deb has a strong Bikram & Ashtanga influence in her teachings. My personal preference would include more philosophy interspersed & breath work integrated into the practice than Deb provides.

Caveat:  Deb's emotions are transparent & affect the quality of the class.  The controversial material she reads from the New York Times editorials and off topic remarks are not appropriate & distracting while students are in long holding "awkward" pose and sometimes sprinkled throughout the class.

Pretzel Logic Yoga has alot to offer but is a little rough around the edges. First class is FREE. Drop-ins $15 for 1.5hr class. Has class cards available at a slightly reduced price for regulars.
Deb attracts an awesome group of students, most seem like professionals with deep pockets. Deb is Winston-Salem's renowned  "yoga nazi" ! Most people don't complain they didn't get a good enough workout.
