I've been on my "trying different yoga studio" kick for the last year and I finally made it to Prana. Considering it should have been one of the 1st places I tried b/c it's 2 blocks from my house.
It's a good size studio and they offer up to 3 classes at the same time for every 90 minutes so you never have to worry about the availabilities.
I have been practicing yoga for a few years and the intermediate and open/intermediate classes are just perfect.

I heard about this place almost a year ago and finally dropped in tonight for an intermediate level class.  What an amazing experience!

The place looks great from the street; very inviting.  The reception area is spacious and comfortable.  That good vibe extends through the entire building.  Every space is well lit, the perfect balance between bright and dark.  There were lots of happy faces everywhere--always a good sign.

Class was taught by Vic.  At first we were sent to a small room, but then moved to a much bigger, more beautiful space.  Vic's instruction was very precise and not rushed.  Like all good yoga teachers, he placed strong emphasis on non-competition, self-protection, and rhythmic breathing.  Class was long, about two hours, giving us plenty of time in each asana.  After class, I felt I had plenty of time to get everything together and leave at my own pace.

Classes are $17, which is about the going rate down here.  Discounts are available for multi-class packages.

Most yoga studios have some awkward space and/or a rushed vibe.  Prana Yoga is so well laid out and laid back.  I'll definitely be going back.

N.B.: park down the street at the courthouse.  It's free!

I've been attending classes here for about two months. I am an honest beginner (37 years old), and this was my first attempt at yoga ever. I signed up for the beginner introductory classes which start on the first Tuesday of every month and are taught by Ana Margaret. If you are new to yoga - please do this course. Now that I am attending the regular "basic" classes, I don't know how it could be done properly without the intro classes. Form is SO important and the intro classes emphasize this. As an old school "gym rat", I can assure it is not an aggressive workout, but it is effective. When it is done properly. You have to seriously engage your muscles to perform the poses effectively. I am also a member of the Bally's gym on Coral Way and after being at Prana, I can't bring myself to go back to that hormonal mess. They make me go into an office and leave my ID to use 10-20 lb. free weights (they say they are stolen often). Then I have to sulk off into a corner to actually use them.  How insulting. I guess what I am saying, is that yoga poses are NO joke. My entire body has shaken trying to achieve them. The same shaking you get when you are lifting weights that are too heavy to achieve muscle mass.

Are you going to achieve a glorious yoga body immediately? Hell no. It takes dedication, like any other work out. But, you will feel like a different person? Yes. Its a break from the horror that Miami can be. Just relax.

I am a Yoga newbie, so I signed up for the 4 week Intro to Yoga class at Prana, and could not be any happier.  The studio is very pretty, well-organized and the staff is great.  My instructor, AnaMargaret,  is wonderful and the class has been very informative and enjoyable.  I highly recommend the Intro class for any wannabe Yogi's like myself.
I signed up with a friend and we chose Prana because they offer tons of classes seven days a week, and have classes as late as 7:30pm during the weekdays.

Prana Yoga first opened on Aragon avenue in 2000 and I've been a fan since then. They have been at their new location on Malaga Ave. for quite some time now. Recently they have done quite a bit of remodeling.

This is a great Yoga studio. It offers a wide variety of classes, and a very flexible schedule with classes as late as 7:30PM on weekdays.

You can pay as you go, or you can purchase multiple class cards in varying increments at a discounted rate.

Trying to find a yoga studio that works with your schedule? Your practice level?  A place to take your teenager? or young child?  Looking for a pre-natal yoga class?  Instruction to guide you in breathing exercises and meditation?  Or just a great massage? Well, your needs have been answered!  Prana Yoga has it all, not to mention special workshops to further/deepen your practice and even yoga teacher trainings.  The instructors are great and guide you through an amazing practice in one of their 4 studios.  The recently expanded center offers plenty of space and a soothing ambiance that helps provide a relaxing practice.  All for a reasonable price.

I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I've been going on a consistent basis for 6 mths now.  I love it bec. they are professional...a lot of students pass through and the front desk does an excellent job checking people in fairly quickly.  The classes are fairly large depending on which you attend.  Right now based on my schedule I mainly go to three teachers.  Susie, Richard, and AnaMargaret.  It is conveinent to the Coral Gables location.  I've only had one poor instructor and that's when I tried it early on and went in the morning and two of us were in the beg class...I was a true beginner and the instructor didn't show a lot of the moves.  Patty is awesome and she teaches beginner yoga on Sundays.  She really gets you prepared for the next level and introduces you to the different styles of yoga.  Sometimes better than open/inter classes. It has changed my body, I average 2 times a week...and I can stand on my head now!

Prana yoga is great!  With the new room, they have opened up more open classes in the AM and on the weekends.  The instructors are skilled, thoughtful and make classes fun and challenging.   Marjorie, Richard and Barbara are my favorite instructors.
