I came here to get a basic facial, and was led to a basement with a very nice atmosphere. The problem is, I came to get my pores *cleaned*. She was very good with washing the face, applying the masks. Unfortunately, she did absolutely nothing to remove the blackheads on the nose. When she was done, I looked in the mirror. Maybe 10-20% of the blackheads were gone. When I mentioned this to her, she defensively said that there were a lot. Yeah, right. I've gone to others, and they have gotten out 75-90% of them. Here, you could barely tell she'd removed any.
Total waste of my money.
Note: This was about a year ago, so things might have changed. I certainly hope so.
That's it! The women here cannot thread- once again I have come home with scabs under my eyes. If you cant tell the difference between skin and hair, don't work in a threading salon! Go to Thread in Murray Hill- it's cleaner, more conveniently located, and costs the same as Praba.

the quality of the threading depends on who you get. the owner of the salon is good, but try to stay… Read more »
After moving from MA I've looked for some staple places from pizza to eyebrows. This is my eyebrow place. I found it on yelp and couldn't have been happier with the results. Like others, I had a bad threading experience that left my eyebrows uneven...and they apparently grow slowly where I actually want them to grow. Every 2 or 3 weeks I go (usually Friday afternoons...it's empty then) and the same girl has been slowly reshaping my slow growing eyebrows. Sometimes I suggest taking out a line and she is honest enough to tell me that I will look odd if she does it that way. I really appreciate the time she takes and the pride she put into her work. My eyebrows have never looked better! Also, after 10 threadings you get one free...so ask for the card on your first visit.
Is a woman ever *truly* ready to get threaded? This is one of the time that I wonder 'Niambi, WTF?! It's gonna hurt!'...but them I walk in Praba and 10min later I am blown away. They are consistently meticulous and patient. They are very capable and I've never had any issues with the shaping /arching of my brows. I will be back!
I'd been curious about eyebrow threading for a while and I chose Praba not only for the great price ($6) but also because I'd read many positive reviews. I was attended as soon as I walked in, and had my eyebrows threaded in a total of 5 minutes. The women were friendly and attentive. Before you leave you're given a sort of "frequent threader" card that they sign each time you go there and after the 9th threading you get a free one (or $6 off your next service). They also sell Indian jewelry and clothing.
