We came across this place by luck. We were in the Outer Richmond for massage therapy and was looking for a place to eat afterwards. We knew the area is treasure chest of fabulous restaurants waiting to be discovered so we stroll down Clement checking out the menus posted on windows.
PPQ stood out because we were actually craving for garlic noodles and imperial roll. We have a place in Mission District that we love. We went in only hoping it'll be something similar. Instead, we we were treated for a great dinner out
CAN I SAY OVER RATED AND EXPENSIVE?!
we order the $400 dinner package for my friend birthday, saw the review and expect to be good... we have 3 crabs, a fish, some green, more seafood with tofu, garlic noodle and order of spare ribs... guess what happen?! we wasn't even full after leaving, i was like what the hell... so we end going somewhere to finish the job... people all bragging about the garlic crab and garlic noodle, come on... just throw me garlic and it will blow you away... i could made it for 1/6 of the price.... $400 and we not full, plus $50 a head... doesn't even worth it... just the HYPE, notting more.... doesn't even look high end either... don't even waste your money and time....
I'm sad that I didn't have the eponymous dungeness crab when I came a few weeks ago, but I was on a date, and feared that sporting a bib and making a mess wouldn't be the best move in the playbook.
I will return, by myself if I must.
To stay couth, I ordered the peppercorn prawns, easy to shuttle into my mouth, and incredibly delicious, and if you're even in a similar predicament, I advise you to do the same. Lightly fried with black pepper and garlic, so your breath may be compromised, but your date's dish will likely be cooked with garlic too, so a double negative turns into a positive!
One of the best green papaya salads I've ever eaten. Crisp, refreshing, rich, and acidic all at the same time. This is the reason to go here if you aren't looking for the whole crab shebang.
The ambiance is a bit cheesy in its tropical theme, but the food is solid. The pho (only served until 5pm) is rich and hearty with a substantially flavored broth, but the grilled beef bun was way over seasoned. The beef was too salty and detracted from the overall harmony of the dish. Boo. I wouldn't say that I shy away from salt, but this was almost to the point where it was so salty it verged on bitter. Oh well. Perhaps I got an over marinated batch. All in all I enjoyed the food and the service was average. I'd come again cuz its in the hood, clean, and affordable! Trifecta!
Ok, I already know what your thinking... crab is crab; well then you've never been to my favorite spot in the Bay, not only The City in which I'm proud to call home but the Bay! Bring a friend, $50 bucks and the big belt because you will be served a huge, freshly made to order salad, a plate of appetizers and yes, a bowl of garlic noodles and the main event, your crab. I highly suggest the peppercorn crab. They also specialize in other foods, shellfish(es) but if you come here for the first time, do yourself a favor and order the Cadillac! You will not regret it
I love garlic noodles! Was Yummy could have been more garlicy but i used the sauce from the garlic crab to put on my noodles - Perfect. Cabbage Chicken Salad was yummy - Light and refreshing. Chose the dinner for 2 menu $54.00. Was awesome. Ice cream (mango) could have been better...
Generally speaking - Perfect Serve not rushed Prompt. Yummy Crab, Imperial Roll, and Salad. Would definitely go there again...
Well, sorry I had such a bad experience tonight. We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday and he loves it here.
We were seated upstairs were it was cold all night. The service was sporadic and they kept taking our dishes away before everyone was done. Also, they left the check before everyone was finished eating.
Now to the food. We ordered three orders of the two person crab. It looked good, but all of my friends tried it since I can't have garlic or spices. So I ordered the veggie rolls which were not very good. I also ordered the crab fried rice which had way too much white pepper and hardly any crab. The garlic noodles were supposedly good and the fried veggie rolls were just so-so. And then the fried bananas for dessert were just not good. The ice cream was very tasteless too.
The bill came to $258 for seven people. Way too expensive for what you get and the quality of the food. They added 18% tip for more than six people. What gives them the right to add 18% and then give us very poor service? Customers should always decide what to tip and it's in the restaurants best interests to have large groups of people.
Blah...
Oh dear. Another place to eat too much, and then eat a little more until you have to unbutton the top button of your pants... or POW! y'all will burst.
My escapade started when I sat down with my friends, first time here. As I looked at the menu, I kept getting distracted by the orders coming out of the kitchen for other diners. I liked the look of all of them, and kept asking: What is that? What is that one? I like the smell of that, what is it? until it was time to order.
I ended up with the dungeness crab and the garlic noodles. By the way, the Dungeness Island garlic noodles should be outlawed. They are now my drug of choice. Mmmmmmm. The crab was tasty and went down well with the noodles and beer. My friend got the garlic shrimps, and was a happy camper too.
Next time I am getting....

Oh em gee. Why haven't been here before?! I've tried Thanh Long and Joe's Crab Shack, but never PPQ's. WHY?? :) I loved this place. We ordered Island imperial rolls, the papaya salad, calamari, charboiled chicken, peppercorn crab, garlic butter crab, and garlic noodles for my friend's birthday. Wow is all I've got to say. Their crab is waaaay better than TL's for sure. And a lot bigger. I'd say one crab can feed up to three ppl. As for TL..they jip you on crab, but their noodles are pretty good.
First thing, their crab. MMMmmm. Peppercorn was my favorite. I could just eat the shell and be satisfied. Perfect amount of spice and salt...loved it. We also sprinkled the left over peppercorn into the garlic noodles to give the noodles a little kick. SO good. The butter crab was just as good. No complaints with the crab.
Noodles were just ok. How can you spice up garlic noodles, really? Well, a little on the overcooked side, but if you like it that way...then here's the place for you.
Charboiled chicken = heaven! So tender on the inside, yet crispy on the outside. How do they do that? Really good and a must try!
Papaya salad and calamari are always good.
Service here is a lot better than TL. We had over 3 waiters/waitresses and our drinks were always full. And the best thing of all, this place is cheaper than TL. I will definitely be back here and soon!
This was my second and third experience of Vietnamese food. The first was at Kens in Westlake and I wasnt impressed with the stomach ache that the pho gave me. But I didnt give u!!!. The second time I tried PPQ. I decided to go safe and get the veggie sweet and sour soup. It was not to my liking (pineapple broth eww) but the owner was standing next to our table so I slurped it up with a smile. The third time I went here it was with a lot of coercing. I decided there had to be something on the menu I would like. My date suggested the Bun bowl.
All I have to say is the bun bowl changed my life. It was indulgent. A happy bowl of explosive flavors- fresh noodles, crunchy veggies and mint leaves, topped with rich crispy egg rolls. I plan on going back here atleast once a week! I love Vietnamese!
I don't care that you don't want to talk to me, that you rush me into my order.
I don't care that you have "accidentally" hung up the phone while I'm giving you my to-go order and I'm not done yet.
I don't care that your service is the restaurant is lower than mediocre, that the tea is too hot, and that I always have to ask for silverware.
I just want the garlic noodles. Really, I just want the garlic noodles.
There are some restaurants that are anomalies to me. They exist because they do some things well, and have no great customer service, but we keep going back. This is one of those places. The people aren't bad, but they're just, not mentionable.
But who cares, we're talking about garlic noodles. Their fantastic flavor pop after the first bite. The chow mein style noodles just dripping with oil and crunchy bits at the bottom. I could live off of these, boxes of these for days.
Their food is usually a little too oily for me, but you want your noodles a little greased up. Their eggplant tofu is good, but half way through I don't feel great. I think that it's too much oil, because it does taste just delicious.
Cody swears by the bbq skewers here, and loves the spicy sauce. Their prices aren't over the top....
I do like to go in and eat there sometimes, instead of to-go, so I can see all the little people eating with their lobster bibs on. Hey, I'll do a lot of things for a good laugh, including marginal service.
But remember, it's all about the garlic noodles...they are the culinary god of PPQ.
Another 5-star experience!
I came here this past Saturday with a friend and we ordered the "Dinner for 2." We arrived at 5pm and there was only one other table taken. It looked like they were having a late lunch, since they were already eating.
Anyway, we received menus right away and our order was taken promptly. The food only took about 20 minutes to arrive (5 minutes for the appetizers, and 20 minutes for the crab and garlic noodles).
The service was very attentive, but I would hope so considering there were only a few tables taken. It was actually surprising how few people there were (especially since it was a Saturday night). When we left less than half the tables were taken. Maybe since crab is in season and only $3/pound a 99 Ranch, people are cooking it a home. But I'm not complaining, it was nice having dinner when it wasn't too crowded.
Parking is still a pain, but we were lucky to get a spot out right in front after driving around for a few minutes.

Although we did not have to pay for the dinner as we went there for a rehearsal dinner,so I have no idea how expensive this was (although crab is usually pretty pricey I am sure). But the food was excellent esp hard to find great crab with the right spices and crunch. The garlic crab was spicy and infused with lots of fried garlic, green onions and green chile with a light crispy coating. The best garlic crab I have had. The noodles were a good compliment(esp if you mix the garlic minced pieces from the crab with it and it then is slightly crispy) although I have had better noodles, but it was fine here with cilantro diced and mixed in with what seems to be butter and garlic in this as well.
There other crab was good as well-had a yellowish sauce(although I have had better sauce type of crabs at Chinese restaurants like bean sauce crabs). The seabass was excellent-very tender and melted in your mouth(and I don't even like fish usually-but this was sooo good-and did not have that fishy taste which I normally do not like) with soy sauce based sauce with fresh green onion and ginger. The chicken(light crispy skin) and pork dish was decent. Papaya salad was good (hard to go wrong there though at most places-very delicate and light) and had a nice crunchy coarse chopped peanuts on top. Green beans were nice and crisp(although taste was good a bit oily though).
Service was excellent(but it was a rehearsal dinner so a big party but they did well). Even the kids loved the food.
My favorite, other than the garlic crab(with the perfect amount of heat and spice), was the fried banana with lychee(looked like vanilla, but it tasted like a lychee coconut ice cream so I think that was what it was) and mango ice cream. The banana was deep fried but not oily or soggy as some places and not the wrapper type of fried banana(some places wrap it with like a wonton/eggroll wrapper which is not the same). So perfectly rounded and crisp served over ice cream with the hot banana melting in your mouth with refreshingly cool ice cream(doesn't that sound sinful in more ways than one-lol!);).
My little one who does not eat much ate like four plates of that one! LOL! It is a rare treat to get this as many places don't have this or don't make it as good as this esp with the blend of two ice creams and fried bananas-best dessert hands down (and I am not even a dessert eater usually). YUM!
A great alternative to Thanh Long and Crustaceans! The garlic noodles are second to the Originators of SF. PPQ is more of a family dinner atmosphere but get here early or this place gets packed! The crabs are tasty and nice sized and they have a wide variety of authentic vietnamese food to accompany the main event-Crab/Garlic Noodles.
I think the secrets out about this place because it's actually harder to get a table these days! Go PPQ!
Fantastic Food! Everyone loved the green beans, garlic noodle, beef and pork. The spicy and garlic crab was great as well, but too pricey for crab in season. We paid ~$35 a crab and it was not the freshest I have eaten in SF. Make a reservation if you go on a weekend night, and bring 4+ friends so you can try many tasty dishes. Again I must reiterate - the food is amazing, but next time I go I will not order any crab.
Loved their roasted crab and garlic noodle. We were hooked the first time we came here. We will be back the next time we are in SF. The ambiance is okay, the food makes up for it.
I've been here a few times and I usually come in a group so I always get the dinner for 4, 6, or 10 if I remember correctly. Service isn't as nice as I'd expect but it's alright I guess.
So the food...what's good? Everyone raves about the garlic noodles. To me, they're rich and flavorful but super buttery. Don't get me wrong, I love butter but dang, I dun like drinking it. The sea bass is always one of my favorite dishes. It's always cooked perfectly and quite tasty. The string beans are also very good but it's a pretty standard dish in any asian restaurant.
Now there are a few different types of crab. The two main ones are the garlic and the black pepper. I've noticed that those who like traditional chinese crab dishes like the garlic one. Those who have prefer a bit of more of a bite and salty flavors, the black pepper is definitely the way to go.
I'd probably give this restaurant 3 stars but the crab and the sea bass push it up to 4.
It reminds me of Thanh Long quality food but with typical Chinese restaurant atmosphere & service. And the prices reflects that perfectly.
Nothing really memorable but great for family gatherings. A group of 10 Vietnameses leaving content from a Vietnamese restaurant with no complaints? Good enough for me : )
ppq, you only get 4 stars b/c i sweated garlic for the next few days, but i guess that's the price you pay for delicious.
First off, don't come here expecting good vietnamese food. This place is known for crab and garlic noodles. If you want good pho, go the the PPQ on Irving street. Don't go to a place known for dungeness crab joint and order a bunch of other stuff. I have dreams about the crab and noodles here. My mouth waters every time I think of it.
Most people on here seem to think it's overpriced for the type of food that you get. But are they ordering the right food? $60 for a crab meal for two and I think it's totally worth it! The appetizer is there just to fill you up and then comes the main course: GARLIC NOODLES and the famous PPQ CRAB. My friend was literally drinking the sauce with a crab leg.
I like to pick out all the meat and place it onto a plate of noodles, and pour the sauce on it every so often. When I'm done picking the meat out, I'll have a HUGE plate of crab garlic noodles to eat. I think that's why I feel like I am getting my money's worth. The trick is to go right when it opens so the cooks won't have to rush the meal and end up diluting the yummy flavor. No reservations needed if you're early but you will need one if you go even an hour after it opens.
I was recommended by a friend to come here for their garlic noodles.
My friend and I came here for dinner, and we ordered the "Dinner for 2."
We got chicken salad, egg rolls (cha gio), garlic noodles, roasted crab, and fried banana with ice cream.
The chicken salad was good, but it wasn't anything special.
The cha gio was yummy, yummy, yummy! Perfectly crisp and steamy hot on the inside. We got FOUR!
Roasted crab was good as well, juices were sweet. I wish they would break up the crab more.. At least they gave us the crab-breaker thing.
The dessert was just as you would expect, so nothing spectacular.
Now, for the garlic noodles-- very, very delicious when warm/hot, just delicious when cold (leftover). My goodness, chewy, buttery, garlicy, aromatic, creamy.. Wonderful combination.
The total was $70 with tip and tax. I think it's fair, not too expensive, but not cheap.
P.S.: Service was okay. It was kind of awkward when they put the bib on you.
THE BEST!!!!
THE BEST CRAB
THE BEST PEPPER CORN!
THE BEST WINTER ROLL!
THE BEST EGG ROLLS!
THE BEST SERVICE!
THE BEST ALCOHOL!!!!!
THE BEST OWNER!!!!!
THE BESTTT THE BESSTTT!!!!!!!
Had my birthday here... surprise partyy!!!!!!! WOOOT!!!
Try the curry crab!
There's only one thing you come here for and that's the crab and garlic noodles. The crab here is delicious! YUM! We got the crab for 2, at $50, it's not cheap. It also includes a salad, some egg rolls and the garlic noodles. Those were all good, but nothing spectacular. The highlight is definitely the crab and where this place gets its stars from.
If you read through some of the other reviews, you'll notice a lot of the lower star reviews are from people ordering food other then crab. Let that be a sign for you when you come here.. order only the crab.
Crabs gone wild! PPQ is the dream for crab lovers. We enjoyed a delicious starter salad, some fried crab-filled rolls, sea bass, and of course dungeness crab. Dessert was surprisingly tasty - ice cream and fried bananas. As a measure of how good the food is - the restaurant was nearly full by 7pm on a Monday night when Clementine was practically deserted.
The food is enough of a reason to visit. However, the other fun thing about PPQ is that they have a decent wine selection and they have this tropical island vibe in the decor. There's also a festive sort of feel with patrons of the restaurant...probably because everybody is anticipating/enjoying the delicious meal.
There are really only two knocks on PPQ. The first is price...wow, it's about $55 for two not including any beverages, gratuity, or tax. The second is that the customer service is just okay. While the servers will get you what you need, they won't go out of their way to be friendly.
One little note - please be sure to make reservations if you plan to eat dinner after 7pm.
Treat yourself tonight and visit PPQ!
PPQ IS THE SHIT! I know it's unbecoming for a grown female to use expressions like this but sometimes it's just necessary.
I came here recently and It's been a long while since I've payed a visit but completely forgot how good, fun, and sexy the food here is. If one person is sick, everyone is sick when leaving this place because sharing is caring at PPQ and there's not one person who isn't licking their fingers after eating that crab or wrapping those imperial rolls.
Liberal portions with huge flavor and so-so service is alright with me. You know how there's always that large, loud, obnoxious table that obviously had too much sake to drink who you hate because they're ruining your quiet family dinner but at the same time you love because the inner beast you wish to release can live vicariously through them all for a short while -- Well that was us, justified by a $500 bill which gave us slight permission.
Sorry PPQ, we'll try to be on our best behavior next time :)
We had a great experience at PPQ! The food was excellent, particularly the crab. For five of us, it was our first time at PPQ. We ordered the dinner for six with an extra order of roasted crab. It was so-o-o-o good that we ordered another roasted crab. Yes...4 crabs for 6 people along with everything else on the prefixed menu. The crabs were big & fresh. We loved how the roasted & peppercorn crabs were prepared. We also enjoyed the other items on the prefixe menu. As for the dessert, we loved the coconut & cantaloupe ice cream that came with the fried banana.
The service was excellent and the waiter was very attentive. He checked on us frequently to make sure we had what we needed. We brought our own wine & the corkage fee was $10, which is very reasonable. We had an opportunity to share a glass of wine with Charlie, the general manager/owner, and he told us that PPQ have been in business for 10 years. Charlie reads the reviews on Yelp to help them make their business successful.
Though it was expensive, the quality was excellent. This will be a memorable birthday dinner for my family. If you are craving for an excellent crab dinner, PPG is the place to go year-round.
We had gone to PPQ on a Saturday night and parking was a challenge, which is not unusal for this neighborhood. We could not find the parking lot with free 1 hour parking. Just be sure to allow for extra parking time.
My cousin and I visited PPQ for a late lunch around 2:00pm, after driving up from Cupertino, enticed by so many rave reviews here on Yelp.
As an appetizer, the chicken skewers were pretty good and the soft-shell crab (fried in batter) was decent.
We shared two rice plates between the two of us:
The five spice chicken, which was really good, and the coconut curry chicken which was the disappointment of the day! I have never had a coconut milk based chicken curry as pedestrian and disappointing as this one. I mean it's still edible but this was definitely a kill-joy.
The service was spotty and I had to ask for water in the middle of our meal --- who doesn't serve water unless asked? Very strange! And no, we did not have wine, beer, or soda with our meal.
Lastly, I wanted to try the Dungeness crab that so many have talked about but at $38 (!!!) that was waay too expensive. Even the "Crab House" in the middle of tourist-trap Fisherman's Wharf charges less ($35) and for this little restaurant to charge more in the (inner? outer?) Richmond area is rich ! What's more, it looked smaller than those served at the Crab House (min 2 lbs ea). 99 Ranch sells live Dungeness at 4.99/lb so the markup is stunning for a run-of-the-mill restaurant far removed from the touristy places.
Not going back.
Overpriced, over-oiled, and under-fed.
Crab in my opinion should be priced at seasonal rate, which can be difficult if your restaurant operates 365 days a year on crabs - this is some-what understandable.
The food here are very small in portion for the price, their two orders of garlic noodle came in one bowl (what?)... I was confident that I got ripped off, at least put the two orders separate so folks can get their individual order instead of sharing from one bowl. Items such as string beans, garlic crab, roasted crab, and garlic noodle has way too much oil.
The good part about dining here is that it reminded me that it's currently crab season (+1 star for this), and most supermarkets sell live Dungeness crabs for 2.99 a pound right now. Yes, I ended up buying about 4 crabs at Oceanview supermarket for around 20 bucks the next day to satisfy my crab cravings, no thanks to you PPQ.
I think the hype on this place is a little misplaced. It's way expensive for vietnamese/chinese food. For three of us we paid over 120$, and that's with two of us drinking only tea.
The roasted dungeness crab was a let down for me. The sauce did nothing for the flavor and was bland yellowness. Also, paying 9$ for one lone deep fried soft shell crab was kinda harsh. plus, like most of the food, it needed a hit of soy sauce to kick up the flavor. fish maw soup, bland.
The good was the slightly greasy, in a good way, garlic noodles and the sweat smoky pork chops.
However, the good was off set by bad service an the grumpy dragon lady frowning at all the customers. We had to frantically wave for a couple of minutes whenever we wanted anything like soy sauce, chili sauce, more tea, or the bill. And frankly the apparent boss lady (dragon lady) was walking around the restaurant frowning and looking generally grumpy. No friendly greeting, no smile at all. Who wants to eat with a grumpy lady looking at you and trying to judge when you will clear a table for the next customer?
In conclusion, I've had better food at Chinese restaurants in So Cal for lower prices. I don't think I will return, but I do think I'll try to figure out how to make those smoky pork chops.
It's easy to get excited by crab -- you get to wear a bib, make a mess, slurp noodles, and generally have fun. None of that changes the fact that PPQ is ultimately just a standard-issue, inelegant vietnamese restaurant that happens to serve some passable crab (and charge a premium for it).
Most of what we had came out of the Fry-o-Lator. Even the crab. (Ignore the fact that the menu says the spicy crab is roasted -- it's not -- ours was dipped in a light batter and tossed into hot oil, taking a perfectly fresh crab and turning it into an oily, unevenly cooked mess.) The noodles aren't fried, but they're still a just a mass of garlic and starch. I was hoping for something a bit more refined, interesting, or even good, but I must have had the wrong thing in mind. Service was a real let down, too. I wish it all could have worked for me, but it didn't!
A tip for odd-numbered groups: there were three of us, and we ordered the fixed "dinner for two", plus an additional dish. Portions worked out well.
Their crab is soooooooooo good! Unlike other reviewers, I do not care about the garlic noodles. Way too much butter for my taste and not enough garlic!! I will be back again to eat their crab!! I prefer roasted version but the curry or butter sauce version is pretty good too!
Dang, 850+ reviews?! Oh well, let's add one more.
Love everything on their Dinner for 6 menu! Garlic noodles, papaya salad, peppercorn crab, yum, yum, yum! Everything is literally finger-licking good. My favorite is the garlic noodles! I think they're better than Crustacean's, which are too buttery for me. I have yet to try Thanh Long's so I can't compare to them.
I do think PPQ should be saved for special occasions because it's not the cheapest dinner. But it's definitely worth it! You know, any place that gives you a bib delivers on the food (as far as I know).
New Years Eve dinner was delicious.
We had the spicy and drunken crabs. Both were tasty but the spicy one was better.
The garlic noodles were as good as the other reviewers said. It was almost Italian with a garlic butter sauce. The stir-fried string beans and the shrimp roll appetizer were both yummy too.
No dish disappointed.
So, we ended up with full bellies for four people for $150 with beer. All of us left happy and satisfied.
Some random bits: The place is a bit cafeteria-esqe but the attentive service made it feel more welcoming. The only real drawback was they they lost my reservation. Luckily, we went early and got in before the rush.
We'll be going back!
I would not recommend PPQ for people who do not enjoy the following: garlic, crab, butter, eating with your hands, wearing plastic bibs (although, I like to bring my own terry cloth one from my toddler days).
Instructions for battle:
1) Tie your hair back if you have long hair
2) Avoid wearing anything you cannot easily wash, lest butter splatters on it.
3) Order the dinner for six cause it really feeds 8.
With this information, you are ready to do tear apart some crab before the butter appetizingly congeals.
For the people complaining about the price, they need to get real and go to a place that's more "reasonable", as they say, 'You get what you pay for"' and anyone who's been to Slanted Door or Crustaceans, this place is a true bargain with much better food!!
The crab here is awesome; you definitely need to try the roasted crab as well as the peppercorn crab, because afterward, you won't be able to stop licking your fingers. Not only is the crab good, but everything from the imperial rolls, to the garlic noodles, to the sea bass is amazing! There's no shortage of good food.
Things to definitely try here:
Roast Crab/Peppercorn Crab
Tiger Prawns
Oysters on the half-shell
5 Spice Chicken
Beef Carpaccio
Garlic Noodles
Crab Fried Rice
Everything else is good, but I find myself ordering the above the most. Great place for family dinning, or for a date. Great food with a kick back setting, what more can you ask for?
First of all who wouldnt love roasted crab and garlic noodles? haha My two fav's! Less expensive than Thanh Long and Crustaceans. This place is great for a big group. You will be able to enjoy good food at a reasonable price.
The owners are really nice too, they will personally come by your table and maybe even offer you a drink! haha
Love it!
So I've been here 2 more times since my last post. Both were with large parties - stick to the recommended menu, you can't go wrong.
Added asparagus and crab soup one of the visits - great starter.
It only gets better.
I drool in my sleep over that pepper crab and garlic noodles. Next time I go, I'm ordering one of each just for myself. Mine and mine alone.
Parking sucks, so if you can cab, DO IT.

I liked eating here because the price is right for what you get. I order the dinner for two which included: salad, imperial rolls (fried), 1 whole crab, garlic noodles, and fried banana dessert. Total bill came to like $60 plus tip. That ain't bad. Included hot tea. I though the crab was pretty decent for the price.
Now if you wanna get your serious crab on, then you gotta go to crustaceans! but then we are talking twice the price. guess you get what you pay for.
The girl I took said that in Vietnam, they don't normally serve the crab with garlic noodles and that's a U.S. thing. Well I said I'm cool with that 'cause the crab and noodle combo is da bomb!
Go here is you are craving Vietnamese crab during an in-between paycheck week.
been here for the first time a couple months ago and all i can say is ... NOM NOM NOM NOM!
roasted crab with the garlic noodle meal is totally FTW!
i can't wait to go back and try the other flavored style crabs there =)
