After reading the great reviews I read about Tony's amazing Grooming, I decided to try him out. I have two maltese dogs and i made the mistake of taking one of my babies to petco to get a trim and when I picked up my dog he was completely shaved and looked so different. I was so upset and I know I am never taking my dogs there for grooming. Well, with my second baby I didn't want to just take her anywhere else, thats when I decided to go see Tony and I was lucky enough to find him on the day he was working. He is wonderful, I saw how busy he is, he was booked for the day, but the cashier told me that I should wait for him and ask him if he can squeeze in my maltese since she was small. Well, I waited, I asked tony and he said yes to seing my maltese. I left my baby with him, he asked me what I wanted him to do to my dog, what kind of haircut, how short I wanted it. Well, when I picked her up, she looked so beautiful. I was so happy with the work he did on my dog. I am defenitely will be bringing my dogs to tony for their Grooming.

I go here mainly for my VET needs because they are affordable, but they also have a great selection of foods and supplies but I recently went there to have my dog Rosie's nails clipped and she usually freaks out with anyone else handling her, but the gentlemen who took care of her was great. What was neat was they have this filing device that made it all easier. I'll be taking my dogs here for any special grooming needs if needed.
LOVE this place! They have a great selection of dog food. which is all I ever go here for. They have high quality foods such as evo, california naural, canidae, etc. Not only are they the only place that offers these in vallejo, but they are at a decent price, no small boutique prices here. The shot clinic on the weekends gets over crowded, but as far as their actual products I adore PB!
My parents take their dog here to get groomed and they LOVE it. I guess they tried Petco and weren't really satisfied until here.
They have a lot of products for many animals and the staff is pretty nice even though you bring them a dirty ass dog to clean!

Their personable customer service and genuine interest in pets makes me come back as often as I need anything for any of my pets. Family owned you often begin to feel like family yourself after you're 2nd and 3rd visit in. They carry high quality pet food that isnt so easy to come by if you strictly cruise the aisles at Petco. Support local businesses and shop at Powell Bros. and Pet Supply! :)
The name says it all if you got an animal and you need to feed it, you can find it here. They have chicken and monkey feed. YEAH MONKEY FEED so try and top that!! If you happen to find something they do not carry, they will special order it. Yeah they are that good. My fiance has barred me from this place because I have picked up so much crap for our dog here but moving on...
They have grooming services. I am not talking about fancy shampoos and bows...I am talking glands cleaned, nails clipped, ears wiped and a good scrubbing and brushing that a 100 lb lab needs sometimes because he found a cow pie and thought it was his new best friend!! Buddy can be a handful but the groomers do not seems to mind (or at least they don't tell us about it) and he is not as traumatized when we take him here and he does not smell like a whore house.
They, also, have a no drug teeth cleaning that looks better then my last dentist visit. Its expensive so I have not tried it but they have a guarantee so I will give it a try when my dogs teeth get too much plaque (yuck).
Every Sunday from 12-1pm their parking lot is packed with people and pets for the low cost vaccination clinic. I have gone three times so far and its good if you need to get your shots and feces test every year and not pay $300 to a vet's office because they need to pay their lease. The people who work there are friendly and answered all of my questions regarding vaccinations and flea/tick treatments so they are not the complete idiots you find elsewhere. If you are worried about how "social" your dog is, the vet will go to your car instead of having you bring him/her through the line of people and pets.
They are also a "green" business! Solar power, baby!! I mean could this place get any better? What's that you say, it can? How's that?

This is a great family owned local pet store and far superior to any of the pet chains. They have a great selection and carry many of the high end brands, including some that were never involved in the recalls, like Innova.
They have live animals (bunnies, birds, reptiles and fish) , as well as supplies for almost every animal you can think of.
The mobile grooming service is AWESOME. Tony has been grooming our dog for over a year and it is by far the best grooming we have ever had. I have heard the drop off groomer is great as well.
I love this store. We mainly get dog food from here, California natural, high quality and no Chinese ingredients in this food. They also offer multiple services here, grooming, weekly vacination clinic and even propane. The owners are super nice as is their dog, huge Rott sweet as can be. Yes some of their items are pricey but I prefer supporting a small business than somewhere like Petco. On occasion they have rabbits, birds for sale. My dog is a big fan of the lamb bones they sell individually. They also have convenient hours, even on Sundays they are open pretty late.

There used to be a great gal there, Lisa, and she was amazing...
She left to parts unknown (sadly as we would travel there for her to groom "the blondes"). Since then the grooming service has gone downhill. The grooming area was continually more shoddy, dirty and cluttered each time we brought one of our 3 dogs there to be groomed. Now mind you we were LONG term customers and grooming 3 80 lb dogs on a regular basis (no, doggy odor (D.O.) is not an option) is a nice chunk of change. The last straw was when I arrived to find my 14 year old dog(yes 14) left unattended in the dryer by herself sitting in the dark with the dryer ON! My jaw dropped, I was shocked and then I blew my top!!!! My fur kid was treated by a woman, so not sure if she is still there, but I felt that the dog being left alone, as an elder dog sitting in an operating dryer in the dark was completely unacceptable. I ended up going into the grooming area, opening the dryer, lifted my poor girl out, got her into the car, the clerk in the store did not even know she was there. After the clerks calls to the owner went unacknowledged and unanswered, I left the place in a hurry and have not been back since. The clerk promised the owner would call me and suprise, suprise never heard from them either.
I agree that Powell Brothers beat the chains by a long shot. The staff is friendly, helpful and seem happy to be there. I enjoy their great selection of chicken feed. Also, they usually have animals there and my daughter loves to visit.
A pet food and supply warehouse on Broadway Street! I go here to buy special cat food for my high maintenance cat. I love him so much that I'm willing to pay half of my paycheck for food that has a "high protein content". He's so cute, you would pay, too, if you met him. If your vet has also told you to feed your furry creature a brand that they don't stock at Safeway (or even Petco!), then head on over, they have it ALL!
This place absolutely kicks ass, they love animals.
My buddy told me about this place and all I heard were great things. I visited this place for my little buddy "Max" Golden Retriever. You name, they got it from toys, foods, snacks, shampoo, nail cutters, etc. It's worth a visit for your pet.
I have been shopping here for years and they are great. The selection is great and if you happen to have a picky pet or do purchase something that does not work for your pet you can return it no problem.
