My friends are starting to all get pregnant. I try not to hang out with them so I don't catch baby fever, but I had to go here to pick out a baby shower gift. The stuff in this store is supercute, much nicer than the stuff I had growing up. So the prices kinda reflect that, too. I couldn't bring myself to purchase one of the onesies on the registry--the newborn's going to get bigger real quick! Why spend money on lots of cute clothes? Just wrap him in a towel, he'll never know!
The staff offered to print the registry list for me and it took forever. Something about an old, slow printer or needing a code. Then, it took a while before I could find a sales associate to help me find some of the items. It's not all necessarily grouped in a logical manner, but it is smart merchandising by grouping things in rooms and not just, say, all towels here, all onesies here, all frog-headed-bathrobes here etc. I went with a blanket because I deemed it a worthy investment from which the baby would get a lot of mileage.
Oh Pottery Barn Kids - how I love your products. I just don't love your Highland's store.
When I was pregnant with my Punkin, I registered at PBK. Don't get me wrong.... I love, love, love everything here. However, I do not appreciate the lack of service here. Many of my friends commented on the lack of service that they received from this location - when shopping for me-n-Punkin. I decided to give it another try when going to complete my registry.
On the day that I decided to do the damage and complete Punkin's nursery - no one would help me. They were all busy and would barely even look at the penguin lady eyeing the beautiful sleigh cribs. I had to reign in my hormones and compose myself. I looked at hubby with my puppy dog eyes and asked him to drive all the way up to the Pottery Barn Kids in the Woodlands. The sales team there were more than happy to help me spend our hard earned money. We definitely completed punkin's nursery full of butterflies and her bathroom with green frogs and pink dragonflies - but only thanks to the team up in the Woodlands.
Apparently - rumor amongst the shoppers is that the Highlands location is so busy that they don't have to give good service - apparently they are one of the highest volume stores. That's ok - I'd rather spend it up in the Woodlands, even if it is further to get to.
