I have lived many years in Italy and learned everything they could teach me and more. I taste the way a pizza is made and presented. The inventive specials they offer always reveal the experience of the pizza makers at Post Alley. Ever since the first time I went to Post Alley Pizza over 3 yrs ago I have considered it my favorite for much more than the flavor alone. It is also one of the best lunch values in the downtown area period. Their salads and sandwiches are also delicious.

Stopped in almost by accident, I was feeling all hungry for some day-before-payday food on the go.  I was originally going to go for the mexican place across the alley but thankfully they put a menu on the door and anything that I would want there was too pricey...

Post Alley Pizza however had pricing that was just right!
I got a slice of cheese and a coke- I think I paid at most like $3.  Maybe $4 but I don't think so.
The pizza wasn't amazing, it didn't change my world.  However it was not intolerable greasy or lacking in flavor.  The crust wasn't cardboard and the sauce wasn't laid on too thick.  It was good.  I'd eat here again, for sure.
Ambience was chill, relaxed, and the music was a bonus.  I dig it.

Its worth stopping in, why not?

I work close to Post Alley, and I know some co-workers that are regulars here for lunch.  I decided to give it a try and it was decent pizza.  It was simple without any surprises.  The price was right, and the staff was friendly.

I will return if I need a slice.

The pizza is kind of blah and too greasey, the selection is abysmal (cheese, pepperoni, and some random, usually uninteresting special), and I'm generally not a fan.  I wanted to like it, as it was one of the closest pizza places to my office, but I went a few times and decided that would be enough.  The also have hot dogs and sandwiches.  I tried a hotdog and it was ok, but one could do better a few blocks down on the pier.  All in all I've been pretty disappointed.

On the bright side, the staff always seemed nice and helpful.

The Post Alley Pizza gang are good people.

The food is consistent, affordable, and a damn sight better than chain pizza crap. I have it multiple times a week (I work across the street) and have never been disappointed. If you're there on a Friday you owe it to yourself to the the Coney Island pizza (complete with hotdogs and  mustard).

The staff are a kick in the ass, play good, honest punk rock, blues and whatever random bullshit they feel like. And I appreciate it. You can expect them to treat you like a person and not someone to get the hell out of the way once you hand over the cash.

My only complaint? They close too early for me to grab dinner on second shift.

Dear Post Alley Pizza Workers,

Smoking pot before coming to work at a pizza joint may seem like a harmless idea.  However, for you it seems to lead to a line out the door 15 people deep.  Forgetting each person's order and having to re-ask multiple times makes you seem like a big pothead; especially when there are only three things to choose from - Cheese, Pepperoni and Veggie.  I know I threw you for a loop by asking for a salad, and asking to eat it here.  Yes, here.  As in not to-go.  You put it in a box anyway, oh well.  You did make a totally decent slice of Pep though, so I thank you.  And I'll be back one of these days.  Hopefully you'll wait until after work next time.

I'm actually a fan of this pizza. Based on the other reviews this place doesn't look enjoyable but I thought the pizza was rather tasty and cheap.

I have come a couple times for lunch as this place is right down the hill from my office. Their pizza by the slice is about $2.50 for pepperoni, veggie, or cheese pizza. Add an extra .25 for their daily special (today's was salami, feta cheese, onion, spinach). It's better if you get a slice from one of their pies that just come out of the oven. If you don't, you get the pizza that's sitting out, but at least they re-heat it in the oven for you and it still crispy and good.

The venue is pretty small, only a couple of places to sit so I would recommend taking this to go. Their employees are pretty funny too, they have striked converstations every time I have gone.

All in all, this is a pretty solid pizza place if you're looking for something cheap for lunch. Take it to go, and you should be pleased.

I didn't meet the staff but I ate some pizza. I likey! The boss decided to get pizza for us working SO hard & picked up some meat pizza and a veggie which is what I ate.

Crust: perfect. Not too thick or thin. Definitely not greasy.
The veggies were really fresh and the sauce was the perfect amount. There's nothing I hate more than too much sauce because I feel that 'they' are hiding something. The man. You know what I mean. Or not.

Anyway, it's close to work, fresh & good.

Went here for lunch today...

One word comes to mind after receiving my slices: SIMPLE.

I ordered two slices of pepperoni to go and ate it at work.  I truly love the simplicity in this pizza.  The ingredients are not complicated, no frills at all.  I love all the components of the pizza...the thin crust (NY Style), tomato sauce, the thin layering of cheese and of course, the pepperoni, which encompasses most of the pizza.  It's not as decadent as a pizza from Pagliacci's but sometimes the most simplest of pizza's is all you would need to satisfy your appetite.  I haven't ordered any hero's or subs from here...all I know is the Pepperoni pizza.  If you love a simply delicious pepperoni pizza, check this place out.

3 stars for the pizza. Nice thin crust without the sogginess of too much sauce.

2 stars for the fun and quirky folks working! Good sense of humor with cheery dispositions... and a hint of crazy. Just how I like them!

The other day I got the strongest, strangest craving that I had to fulfill.  I wanted a slice of cheese pizza, seriously when do I EVER want pizza, so strange I tell you.  I sat at my desk thinking and deciding where to go than it hit me Post Alley pizza, I'd been there before and some co-workers like it so why not it wouldn't kill me right?

I bundle up, fight the freezing weather and walk down to Seneca, than down the stairs to stand in line.  Get this the person in front of me gets the last slice of cheese pizza.  I think the nerve of them!  I ask for a slice of chees anyway, they tell me it will be a while.  I wait, it's what this girl wants and hello fresh out of the oven pizza is so much better than sitting around on the counter pizza so I'm OK with this.  The cheese pizza if finally out of the oven I get my slice and head back to work.  The box is keeping my hands warm, the cheesy goodness is making my nose happy, I'm rather excited for my piece of cheese pizza.

I get back to my desk, open the box and take a bite...mmm yum mmm; this is some good stuff I tell you.  I eat my slice minus the crust and get back to work.  About an hour later I had the worst stomach ache ever and started turning green.  No amount of Tums I took helped the situation, it wasn't pretty folks.  So the moral of the story is if you eat at Post Alley Pizza an hour later you'll regret every single bite you took.

We here at work order from Post Alley Pizza quite often. They're perfect for the meeting that pops up *SURPRISE* You're going to have to stay late! Better order some pizza...

Because they're so close, they deliver super quick. Plus, they've got great salads. We always order about $130 worth, so maybe they just treat us better because of that.

I like their pizza, the sauce is yummy and it's great cold the next day. The people are cool and different, which shows that the management is cool and different as well. Most managers wouldn't hire delivery dudes with tattoos on their necks and hands. I like it, it reminds me that even though I'm stuck at work, there is a real, exciting world out there.

Addendum to below:

I just ate more pizza here.
I told the pizza baker that I loved the sausage/onion/jalapeno.
He told me he would make it for me on Thursday.
That kicks ass.

Original review:

This pizza joint rules.
Thin crust.
Not overly cheesy.
Good ingredients.
Funky-great cooks.
Great sauce.
I love the pep. Also, the sausage, onion, jalapeno was the shizzit.
Much love.
I eat it almost daily.

Odd yet friendly staff and amusingly dumpy atmosphere conspire with average to decent pizza to provide a genuine food experience.

Posted hours are subject to whimsical staff needs.

I'm the first to give this place 5 stars.  Guess I'm a star slut, giving 'em out indiscriminately.  But, my attempt at justification, I work in Pioneer Square and this is the best pizza-by-the-slice place I have found in the Pioneer/Downtown area, and I need a quality pizza option within walking distance.

But don't think the pizza is undeserving of praise.  It's great.  Love the thin crust.  Also, I've seen them making some mouth watering sandwiches, though I have yet to try one.  And, they usually have some good/interesting music playing.  Tends toward the punk end of the spectrum, but last visit I heard some great low-fi, back-porch blues.

The seating area is small, so I wonder if it gets overwhelmed during normal lunch hours (I tend to go post-lunch-rush).

Best goddamn veggie pizza I ever had!! Take it by the slice or by the pie. Also the home of Seattle's own mail-in copy of Elvis' Tears and napkin art.

If your off shopping at Pikes Place, hop up one alley and you'll find Post Alley Market.  Here you'll encounter all kinds of quick bites, one of which is this pizza joint.  Grab a large slice of pizza and call it good, carry it with you and you can eat while you shop.  Good stuff.
