I went to Poshe today not quite knowing what to expect.  They have over 100 positive write ups on CitySearch but most of those seem eerily similar.  Also, I usually pay much MUCH more for my haircuts (operating under the assumption that "you get what you pay for") so $20 for a cut seemed downright sketchy.  Would I leave a mullet?  Would this be a $20 mistake that costs a $100 to fix later on?  And so on and so forth for the past few months.

However, unemployment and potential job interviews won out over my skepticism so I decided to go in for the haircut I could afford and hoped for the best.

I am so happy with the result!  I was able to get a same day appointment with Lily Le.  She asked me what I wanted, offered a few suggestions, and delivered exactly what she had promised. This is an excellent haircut!

4 stars instead of 5 because the ambiance of the salon could be better, but for their prices it's genuinely a wonderful find.

I have had a mixed experience with Poshe. The first time I went was great. The receptionist was so nice and made me so comfortable. The girl that cut my hair and did a great job. Prior to Poshe I had the same stylist for 15 years, so I was nervous to try someone new. She made me so comfortable and did a great job with my hair. I can't say the same thing about my second experience.

I walked in and there were two young girls working the counter who barrely acknowledged me. Then when they did I found out that I had been scheduled as a guys hair cut, and Im definetly not a guy! I was a different stylist this time, as I was told the other girl was unavailable. Which was funny because not 10 minutes after I got there she opened up and was free the whole time I was there. This stylist did an ok job. He didn't offer to shampoo my hair and instead dry cut it. The cut was ok, but he didn't take off any length as I had asked and used a razor on my hair, which freaked me out. Within a week I had major flyaways in the front of my hair.

I guess you never know what you will get on any given day....

I go here about once a month with my sister, or at least whenever I'm vising Portland from college in Seattle. The french manicures (natural nail) are the best, being $20 without tip. I use to pay $45+ in Seattle for the same end result! Manh is my favorite! But Kevin always does my sister's nails.

Atmosphere is not the nicest for a "spa" though as it is also a hair salon so the peroxide odors mix with the polish and it can be quite overwhelming at first.
