This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Olympic Peninsula.  Hot summer day and just had an amazing time hiking around Hurricane Ridge.  I was reading my Frommer's guidebook to look for things to do around Port Angeles and it mentioned this place.

I'm not the biggest fan of contemporary art, but this was amazing and FREE!  We only spent a couple of minutes inside the fine arts center, because the outdoor sculpture garden was out of this world.  

Nestled under a canopy of trees were all sorts of modern sculpture, a lot of it whimsical, hanging from the trees, suspended in the air, and blending into the environment.  It was everywhere and you almost felt like you were on a scavenger hunt.  What a fantastic way to introduce my kids to art.

We all had a blast wandering around the woods looking for the next discovery.  My favorite sculpture was the collection of sweaters on a hillside (see photo).
