As I have said in previous reviews, I am no fast food aficionado, in fact eschewing such establishments, for the most part. But what I like about this place is a nod--however inauthentic--to the cuisine of bayou country (where I've actually visited, as a child). I have to say that my choice of meal here is the spicy shrimp poboy. Good service the times I have been here, and while not pristine, I find this location to be on the cleaner side than many other fast food places I've been to.

If you are lacking imagination for dinner...might as well get some popeye's! It's pretty pricey in my opinion though! Make sure to bring some coupons. I coughed up 18 bucks for 8 pcs of chicken, a thing of mashed potatos and 4 biscuits. what the heck? hella expensive to just eat some freakin chicken.....
also...
there is a mysterious "tanning salon" behind this popeye's.....it looks like an undercover whore house in my opinion!!!!. The lights are off in the front, but the door is open and the open sign is up. There was an asian girl with a very tight top on, tiny booty shorts, and those chunky red hooker shoes....and the products they have in the display case are very cheap and there is only one product line....LOL!!!!!!!

mmmmm Crispy Fried Chicken - gotta love it
I first heard of Popeye's back in the mid 80's from some guys from Indiana. They kept singing some jingle and talking rave reviews of Popeye's. I was like, Popeye's? It can't be better than KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken back then) or even Church's Fried Chicken. So for 15 years I had no clue to Popeye's and kept imagining some gawdy place that had pictures of a cartoon character eating spinach and running around with Olive Oyl and Bluto.
Fast forward to present day and Popeye's has now been on the west coast for many years.
I must admit that crunchy, spicy southern (New Orleans) style fried chicken really hits the spot. This is by no means a gourmet shop but honest, good fried chicken like you'd make at home - minus the deep fat fryer smell permeating throughout the house. Their biscuits are pretty good too.
Is fried chicken good for you? - Heck no. But lighten up and get yourself down to Popeye's and try their chicken. Clogging your ateries never tasted so good.

I do really like Popeye's.
But I never come to this one. Why? BECAUSE PARKING IS CRAP!!!!
And the dining area is super small. And yeah, it is kinda dirty. But the food- yummy!!

popeyes fried chicken is the best fried chicken around!! i come here whenever i want to get my fry on.. this new location makes the best chicken strips!! you get to choose between mild, spicy or naked strips. you have to get the biscuits too!! they are so good!! they always have their chicken fried and ready but the chicken strips are made to order, which is why i get them.. this place isn't the healthiest for you but it's better than kfc!! popeyes also has sides like mashed potatoes, dirty rice, jambalaya and cajun battered fries. they serve po'boy sandwiches and fried shimp and catfish too! if you like fried chicken, you have to check out popeyes!!

Much better than KFC. The biscuits are lightly salted on top. The mashed potatoes with spicy gravy is quite good and not to mention the chicken and catfish. As fast food goes this is a good choice.
