I took a visiting friend to Williamsburg to show him there's more to NY than just Manhattan.
I found Pop, and a few other stores, after Googling "shopping in Williamsburg". What a great find! We were lucky enough to stumble into their end of season sale (summer wear sale, shoes 40% off, etc). Men's clothing sale $30-50, sweaters, tops, jackets.
What l liked best about Pop were the cute, affordable styles. I was honestly shocked at how reasonably priced things were. Great knickknacks & bobbles such as jewelry, hats, wallets in addition to clothing.
Cute store with funky accessories. I wouldn't buy the clothing from here (not a huge variety of sizes/selection), but the wardrobe accouterments are fantastic.
Hot pink wayfarers, dark aviators, and chic Jackie O's in the sunglasses section. Indie designer rings (I fell in love with a flowery one), statement earrings, and bangles at the register.
They had a wonderful selection of summer scarves. The two cutest ones are sitting in my closet, as they were only $20 each.
Wouldn't bother with the clothes, but I am definitely stopping by again for the accessories. And of course, to pet the big fluffy doggie.
Mastercard and Visa only.
If Forever 21 and Topshop birthed a runt of a boutique it would be the much adored Pop. While the duds bear the China mark, the subpar quality is made up for in cute designs and sweet staff. They even have boy wear!
The color organized, bulging racks hold a bright spread of happy, trendy dresses and tops for the everyday while the denim selection offers reasonable brands such as Cheap Mondays. A smattering of quirky jewelry will keep your fingers busy and rows of retro sunglasses are endless entertainment. It's really only lacking in the shoe department, where the meager selection and low-end craftsmanship is glaringly apparent. Bulk and level up in this arena, and you'll have the makings of a fine boutique with price tags in reach.
This is one of my go-to spots when I need to find something to wear that very night. Totally cute stuff and really helpful sales people that will honestly tell you if you can't pull something off. They are always ready to recommend something that looks fabulous.
So I really want to put 3 1/2 stars, but I feel like its more 4 than 3. Either way, I'm writing about their menswear which is also really great, with a ton of options and there has been a couple girls who've complimented me because of things I've gotten here, which is all a place needs to do to have me like them.
So the other day I was wandering around Brooklyn lost, looking for my friends house on a really hot day. After having realized that I'd been walking the wrong way down Grand for the last 15 minutes, I look down to see that the strap on my trusty Havaianas had broken. Stranded in Brooklyn with no shoes ... not a good situation. Fortunately, I found Pop at the end of the block, and therein I purchased the Most Expensive Pair of Sandals Ever.
I hop into Pop all flustered, toting my broken shoe, and ask the sales girls if they sell sandals. They point me towards the back wall, where two types of sandals are displayed; 1. high heeled Havaianas (wtf) and 2. the most perfect amazing gladiator-style sandals that I have been searching for for a month. I tried them on and they were perfect, so I immediately forked over what I believe is an atrocious amount of money for a pair of sandals, and happily hopped out of Pop praying that they'd be comfortable.
I love these shoes. I've barely taken them off since I bought them. Sure, I miss my old ones, but flip-flops are criminally unfashionable and it was high time for me to get rid of them anyway. Everything else in this store was cute as hell too, but unfortunately I was too flustered to browse the rest of the store. Thanks, Pop, for being there in a pinch and saving my right foot from the brutal streets of New York!
Just dropped a significant amount of change in here this weekend. They had a Tuelle Sample Sale - which was great! Jackets ranging from $40-60.
I used to always walk in here and not buy anything - they have such a selection it could be overwhelming. But this time I really took time and looked through everything and they have great clothes - some more expensive then others. They carry this brand BB Dakota which is fairly cheap and really cute ($42 for a skirt.) I will definitely be going in here more often for party dresses, etc.
Good shoe selection too!
I discovered this on the way to Atlas. Browsed and found a bunch of cute fall stuff. Needless to say, I scored a new outfit that I am looking forward to sporting when the temperature cools.
Just wandering around the hood! Then Bam, me and my man found this ill store. The prices are reasonable. I found a new pair of jeans that I can afford and rock called Cheap Mondays. How perfect! My man picked out a cute shirt out for me for once and we loved the selection of random home goods they had. What a reward for wandering around in love!
Oh geez I love this place. It's where I go when I need a break from working on my computer and just want to be surrounded with awesome clothes, hats, bags, jewelry and sunglasses. Really good quality virgin vintage kind of stuff that you will look so damn cool in. Period. Just coolness.
super cute clothes and shoes.
