Great service. Arrived in 30 minutes. Would definitely use again!
Nobody likes getting locked out of their apartment and having to pay a locksmith to get back in but Pop-a-Lock makes the experience a little less painful.
A locksmith was at my apartment within 30 minutes and he was extremely quick and friendly. It'd be great to never have to use Pop-a-Lock again (because hopefully I've learned the whole make-sure-you-have your-key-before-locking-your-door lesson...) but if I did need a locksmith in the future I'll definitely give them a call.
I locked myself out of the apartment, and these guys gave me a price FORTY-SIX dollars cheaper than Millbrae Lock. They said they'd be here in 30 minutes, and showed up in 22. The guy opened my door in less than 30 seconds.
Flawless service. Bravo!

Husband went sailing out of Coyote Point Marina. Apparentlly the VW car key decided to swim in the bay.
I called 5 Auto locksmiths in the San Mateo/San Francisco area with no luck. Either they did not have the proper equipment for the VW key or they did not include Coyote Point in their Service Area. And most were not very helpful in telling me if anyone else in their area had the porper equipment.
Called Pop-A-Lock in San Francisco and found my calvary!
They were happy to make an appointment at the car in the Marina parking lot and yes, they had the super secret special VW car key equipment. Now, I will not say it was a cheap expedition, but they did their best to make it as reasonable as possible. Even suggested that I have a back up key made.
They were courteous, tenacious, and friendly. When the original tech had difficulty, the boss drove out promptly to help finish the job. Good folks who care.
I was very smart locking my apartment key in my bedroom on a Saturday night! Having to pay a locksmith for stupidly is never good a idea but I had no choice, running late to meet my friends at the nearest bar for a drink! Pop -a-lock save me from seating on my stairs the whole night waiting to get me extra key from my landlord. The locksmith was at my place 25 minutes after my call and he was extremely fast, maybe he also had plan for this Saturday night. I prefer not to use them again, but if I get locked out again I will definitely call them.

Very professional, honest, and IMHO reasonable. Long story short, we were locked out of our basement and I called at 9pm. They dispatched a guy there in 30 min. He was really working at picking our lock, but I asked him to just drill it out as we had no key anyway and wanted it replaced. $98 for an after-hours visit (I think it's $68 during business hours), and $29 for a new lock. After reading horror stories about other people's experiences with other locksmiths I can say I was very relived to get someone good. And I found them on Yelp (naturally).
after your psychotic ex-girlfriend reveals her true colors in a variety of truly jaw-dropping and frightening ways, call these guys. you might not think she has a key. she might not even have a key. but the bucks you throw down are for peace-of-mind. do it. you won't regret it.
like a ex-gf-banishing super-hero, he arrived, right on time with only an hour's notice. i set the time, he might have been able to get there sooner. 24/7. the night fee is a well-worth-it 30 bucks. much better than a throat slashing in the middle of the night. made as many keys as i wanted. gave me a variety of options to choose from. jiffy quick too. all good as far as i'm concerned.
if i wake up tomorrow morning without my throat slashed by some psychotic from hell, i'm sure it's partially these guys i have to thank for it.

Love them! They picked up my call immediately and I didn't have to wait for a technician to call me back or anything. We arranged the meeting time and Dennis was right on time. The price was right and he gave me presents to boot.

What great efficient service! I called and wthin half an hour he was at my door. The locksmith explained what the problem was, fixed my lock and made me spares within 20 minutes. We even got a few free spare keys. I would recommend him to anybody.

If i could give them 6 stars I would. I recently purchased a scooter that came with one tiny key, the kind that easily gets lost. Called the Honda shop, was put on hold, and no, couldn't help me order a replacement or additional key. Thanks to Google and Yelp find Pop A Lock, call, get someone right away who turns out to be Cary, asks me a few questions, and says no problem, will get keys to you tomorrow (1 for $20, 2 for $30). When I ask Cary what happens if the keys don't work, he explains he is sending the keys, I test them, if all ok I send him the money. Voila, as simple as that!
Needless to say I got the keys as planned, worked like a charm, came with a giant key-ring and a nice promotional pen.
Now, is that not worth 6 stars?! Thanks Cary, really impressed by that kind of service.

I would give it less if it were possible. Made an appointment and they showed up a day early, scheduled too many for the day and time I was scheduled for and then tell me sorry we are not going to come to your house, we are delicate flowers and don't like swearing. It was there screw up in dispatch and don't want to take responsibility. Too many lock smiths in the city - don't waste your time.

Called these guys at 9am and they we're at my car at 9:30 as promised and I was in my car and on my way in less than 10 minutes.
Very nice representative also.
Today, I needed to get a copy of a Thule snowboard rack key. It was New Years Day, so pretty much everything was closed. But not Pop a Lock.
They were super friendly, and it was $25 for two keys. Which, considering it was a factory cut and not a copy -- and they drove to meet me -- was pretty awesome. Five stars!

I called for an estimate and had someone at my new house within half an hour to rekey my locks. Fast, efficient, good work, nice guy. Good stuff. Be sure to specify what kind of locks you have and how many so the lock tech can have all the necessary accessories with them (don't worry if they don't, they will probably waive the fee to come out again and only charge you for the service performed). If you have a new house and haven't gotten your ID/license changed yet, make sure to have something with your name and new address together at the time of payment so they know you really live there.

Situation: My roommate locked me out on our balcony and as karma would have it she left her keys in the house and left out the front door. We were both locked out on different sides
Solution: We called pop-a-lock and they said they'd be there in 25 minutes. 25 minutes later they were here and we were back in our house in less than 2 minutes.
QUICK, EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL, NICE. I would highly recommend them if you are ever in a bind. or get stuck on your balcony.
I locked my keys in my car this morning. I called Pop-A-Lock and they showed up about half an hour later. They had my car unlocked in about 5 minutes. And, it was reasonably priced.
Can't ask for more than that in a lock-out service!
I actually called these guys as the two locksmiths locally are such twirps. We have one across the parking lot and one in Millbrae, we are in Burlingame. They both wanted a $60 call out which is absurd.
I called Pop a Lock off Yelp reviews. The call out charge was fair, $49 I think and the booking and approximate cost quote very fair and right on the money. I really despise the ooh's and aaahh's and could be this much. Gentleman I spoke to was very professional and didn't try to BS me in anyway.
They showed up on time. Professional looking and right on time.
Completed the job very quickly. Wasn't an easy one, metal door, some rust, new panic bar and lock. Was finished in the best way it could have been and has never worked better.
5 stars and would use again without a thought. Guys on the peninsula are a joke.

I just had a fantastic experience with Pop a Lock. I got locked out of my apartment this morning and called them (after reading other great reviews on Yelp) to ask if they could meet me at my house after work. I had found someone who charged a bit less, but the timing was less convenient. Pop a Lock was willing to match the lower price. Before they were able to arrive at my place after work, I was able to get into the apartment on my own. I immediately called Cary at Pop a Lock, and even though he was already on his way to my apartment (and only a few blocks away), he graciously did not charge me, and just asked that I consider them in the future.
I definitely will as their customer service and friendly attitude (not to mention cheap price) was very much appreciated!
Half of my key broke in my ignition for my Nissan 200SX, after searching on the web for solutions and trying to fish out the key myself, I decided to call an auto locksmith. After calling a few places and comparing prices, Pop-A-Lock had the best price and best customer service (even beating out my AAA). Great quick service, I recommend them.

Pretty good experience having locks re-keyed...5 stars seems a lot to give even for a locksmith but when you deliver on everything, I think that's pretty much what you deserve
Called them early AM and they were out to our apartment within 30 minutes (Exact time I was quoted).
Very efficient work, helpful as well as thorough (Spent time to show that old keys wouldn't work and that new ones did).
Paid over the phone for amount I was quoted.

I had get my new apartment lock rekeyed, they were there the same day. Ben was great, he called to see if he could show up earlier, instead of telling me that he was going to be 15 minutes late like other services. He even looked another lock I was having issue with and put something on it to make it better.
They're really nice and affordable. Great service, highly recommended.
Jorge came out today to jump my car this morning. I have Emergency Road Service through Geico and they contract with Pop-A-Lock.
Jorge jumped my car and the alternator began to smoke. Which you might not think would warrant a 5 star review. But Jorge was so patient and explained what happened, even explaining what the different parts were in my car and what was (and more importantly wasn't, the the problem.) He was very professional and friendly. And I felt like I could trust his assessment because there was really nothing in it for him.

Same story as all the others. I was running out of my house because I was late for work. I have a lock on my door, and I realized that my house keys+room key+car keys were locked inside. AND, my spare room key was also in my room (dur).
Instead of trying to pick the lock, I then locked myself out of my apartment, and then out of the building in order to get to work.
I get to work and my boss calls me an ass.
I spend the entire 8 hours on Yelp, trying to find a good place. I called all the places, and they all advised me to wait until the morning when the prices were cheaper.
I waited until the morning and called all the places on Yelp. NONE of them answered, except for Pop-A-Lock. They said they'd be there in 30 minutes.
And who shows up? DENNIS. Dennis is awesome. He had a sidekick with him too, who apparently was some guy who was training. He just stood there and heckled me the whole time, but it was cool.
Dennis got the job done in like, 2 minutes. Seriously. He took out some big fancy card and got my door open in like, 10 seconds.
I tipped them each $10. Are you supposed to tip locksmith guys? Not sure.
I don't know why I tipped the other guy $10. If anything, he should have tipped me since apparently I was his comic relief for the day.
Anyway, Pop-A-Lock is awesome and if you do call, try to ask for Dennis. The guy rocks.

Like a dumbass, I locked my keys in my car while shopping. What's worse is that I left my cell phone in the car as well. After trying all the door handles hoping that they would magically be unlocked, and getting no help from a cop on a motorcycle, I decided to take the bus home. Got home, hopped on yelp, and found Pop-A-Lock. Called the number, and the guy on the phone said they would be there in 30 min and the cost would be $59. Had my sister drive me back to my car and waited. Exactly 30 min from my original call, Dennis shows up. Five minutes later, my door is open and I have my keys. No damage to my car whatsoever. $5 off for a yelp review. Hell yes. Total cost: $54. I give Dennis $60 cash, he doesn't have any change. hahaha! It's all good. He got a tip for doing a great job.
So it's Sun & it's ugly outside & I had to park on Van Ness, YUCK! Anyways, the key to my car had bent a couple times before however I never had a new one made because I caught it in time before it snapped in half, well yesterday was the day!!! I turned the key & like butter it bent/broke in half! Well, THANK GOD the tip didn't stay in the keyhole, but fell out so I had both pieces in hand. I called my insurance to see if somehow they covered it, that was a resounding NO! So I logged on to Yelp & found these guys. I was verbally quoted worst case scenario aprox $130 & I was like "DAMN!" They siad they'd be there w/in 30 minutes, guess what?? They SO were ther WAY w/in 30min, AWESOME!!! Daniel looked at my key now in 2 pieces and said "Oh, this'll be easy!" So I think it'll be less than the "worst case scenario". Daniel & his Asst did the work w/in 20min! And it worked like a charm! These guys are great, personable, and their customer service ROCKS!!!
Now this isn't necessarily against them, but $130.00 for a new key that did not have be retrieved from the keyhole or re-cored or get the key markings from the lock itself??? That's one EXPENSIVE key I tell ya!!!
Fast fast fast! I locked my keys in my car and they showed up under 30 minutes later (just like they promised) and had me in my car less than ten after that. Shazam!

We had to have the lock on our house because the tenant moved out. I knew nothing about locks so when I called I was surprised at the awesome customer service I received. They were patient and when I scheduled an appointment they were nice enough to knock a little bit off the already reasonable price. The guy came over at the time requested (that rarely happens with other home services) and was very professional and fast. If you need any locks changed I highly reccommend this place!

We recently moved into our new home and needed the locks re-keyed. After calling about 7 or 8 other locksmiths for quotes, these guys were the cheapest and they said they could be here in 30 minutes. Twenty minutes later Ben was the locksmith arrived. He was very professional, wearing a uniform with an ID badge, and re-keyed my 4 locks in under a half hour. I definitely would use them again.

Excellent, friendly, fast service. Fair prices and a free pen to boot! These guys came out and saved the day when that other locksmith company dropped the ball (see my poor review for right on time locksmiths). I'll definitely call these guys when i need more locksmithin' (or when that pen runs out of ink....).

These guys were great. I called them at 10 this morning needing to have 3 locks on a building changed by 1:0pm. They were prompt, polite, and helpful, and they charged exactly what they said they would on the phone. I would absolutely use them again.
My experience with these guys wasn't that good. They were asking for $79 for the first lock and $29 for each additional one. The guy that came was nice, but he spent about 40 minutes trying to unlock my door with no success. He left and asked for money just for coming. The reason I'm writing the review is because the second locksmith I tried, charged me $60 for the entire job and did it in less than 5 minutes. The name of the business is "Open and Shut 24 Hour Locksmith Service".

I called pop a lock because I needed to have all the locks changed in my office. I was thinking I'd have to schedule an appointment for later in the week but they were able to come the same day and during a time that was convenient for me. The guy came on schedule, was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and fast. He was also able to take a credit card payment on site, which was really convenient for me - otherwise I would have had to go out and find an ATM.
Great Locksmith, worked tirelessly on our difficult door.
Prices were very fair. He was there within 30 mins! Will use again. Although I hope I don't get locked out again anytime soon.
My girlfriend lost the last key to her 96 Honda Civic. I called another locksmith first but they wanted me to wait 3 hours before they could come! I found Pop-A-Lock on Craigslist and they said they could be there in 45 minutes and cost less than the first guy. Hoon was my locksmith. Nice guy and knocked the thing out in about an hour.

Excellent service. Was coming back from long day at work and buddy locked my keys in the apartment. I looked up Pop-a-Lock and was in the house in less than 45 mins. VERY PLEASED and HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
