Bottom line: on a sunny Northwest day, my son and his guests had a great, exhausting birthday party, and slept all the way home.

The problems with staff attitude that earlier reviewers noted have been corrected. The young helpers were enthusiastic and eager to please.

The facilities were maintained to working farm standards. People need to understand that part - it's a "working farm", not a suburban chain party facility.

If there's on small improvement that I would suggest, it is to place a small refrigerator or chest freezer in the party area in which to place ice cream. The one in the Cowboy Cottage was too far from the tent, apparently doubled as a staff fridge, had insufficient space, and could stand a cleaning. One can find used ones on Craigslist for under $100. This is a quibble, though - this is a working farm.

I just got off the phone with my wife who was in tears because of this place. She spoke to the people at Paradies on 3 different occasions to see about booking it for my daughter's 4th birthday party. She even drove out to get a tour of the place and check it out. She told the lady who runs the place that we wanted to book the 10-12 time slot for the day of our party, but the lady had a party to get ready for that day so she asked my wife to call later to put a credit card down. My wife asked when she should call and the lady said she had a busy next few days so to wait a few days and then call.

So my wife waited a few days and called again to put a credit card down. But to my wife's horror, the lady informed my wife that she hadn't put our reservation down in her calendar and she had just booked it out for a different party!!! She didn't apoligize, try to fix things, offer a discount for a different time slot, or placate my wife in any way to make up for their mistake...all she did was offer the 1-3 time slot and say you can call back if you need to think about it. The 1-3 time slot doesn't work for our party and we had already sent out invitations so our party got completely torpedoed by Pony Paradise! We had to change everything, moved the party to our house and we're having Seattle Pony Party bring some ponies and face painters to our house instead.

In all my years of booking events, I've never had something like this happen, I mean who does that?!!! It was booked, they had our reservation date and time...they were the ones that told my wife to call back in a few days with a credit card...and then "oopsy, we forgot to put it in our calendar, looks like you're screwed." Totally shady! Based on the other reviews on here I'm actually a little relieved we're not throwing the party at a place that half the reviewers on here have also found to be shady and unprofessional...but I definitely wanted to share our experience so others don't make the same mistake of trying to use this place. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere!

I hate to kick a horse when it's down but this place is not somewhere I'd suggest to take your kids or yourself.

It's not as bad as some of the other reviewers have said, at least not in my eyes, but it wasn't somewhere I'd book a party for MY daughter.

As previously mentioned, the younger girls with the horses were disinterested, talking on cell phone, eating and ignoring the kids and the place was not party ready at all, the few times I've been I hear reasons why (this is broken, that isn't working) but at a certain point, you have to do more to keep your place looking ready for the parties if you're going to have them.

I urge you to see for yourself, it wasn't horrible but I don't recommend that you book a party without a visit first.

We went here for a Girl Scout event. It was difficult at first to reach a real person on the phone. When we did, though, they were friendly and eager to help. At the event, our girls had a nice time. There was a woman and two teenage girls. They read about pony's from a book the girls could color in. They received a hat, bandana, and horse patch and were able to jump in a jumpy house. I guess it was new, because we didn't have any of the issues mentioned below. After that, the girls were shown how to brush the pony's and saddle them. Then they led the girls around the ring a few times.  They were nice enough to refund us for the girls who couldn't come, which isn't always something businesses are willing to do.

I'm not totally sure what was up with October/November 2004. Did we have an exceptional amount of rain those months or something? Was there some earth shattering international event that made us all turn to the person in bed next to us and say, "It's time to make a baby" ?

For me, I just wanted to have a Leo so I would have a snowball's chance in hell of actually getting along with my kid, and I was getting up there; my father made some comment about my eggs getting old that got me off the BC and telling my then husband that it was time to knock me up.

Whatever the cause, the result is that the vast majority of the kids in my son's class have birthdays in August. Today's party was for the darling Lola at Pony Paradise.

I wouldn't exactly call it paradise; more like your average to sorta run down stable with a bouncy house and a couple of little ponies with their manes dyed pink for the kiddos to be led through a semi unkempt trail behind the party tent. Asking a bunch of three year olds to wait their turn for this is most definitely not paradise. Maybe one more little pony would be in order....

At any rate - still gonna give up 4 because the Mini had a blast. Following him on the pony, dodging piles of shit and sticker bushes wasn't the best part of the day for me - but the post cupcake bouncy house bedlam was pretty fucking entertaining. You get to the point where you stop telling them not to pile-drive each other and just let natural selection work things out. Little kids are all rubbery and stuff. It's cool.

I will say that my child was the freaking Karl Malone of the Tiger class today. I watched him toss himself down on the bouncy house on at least three occasions and burst into tears with some story of how he was wronged by another child. He's going to do really well in the NBA someday.
