As a college student, I'm all about places that cater to simplicity and cheap food. This is what I assumed Pom Pom's would be like; a simple sandwich shop with good, cheap eats. Inexpensive? Yes. Simple? No freaking way.
Living near UCF, I rarely get the chance to experience the downtown foodie scene, but on our day off my boyfriend and I decided we would take our hankering for a sandwiches and try something new at Pom Pom's. All of my hype about this place I derived solely from other Yelp reviewers, and the hype was not misplaced! The shop is about the size of my apartment's living room, with maybe twenty seats in total, creating this adorable divey setting that rather than making you feel cramped, creates an intimate area for you, other patrons, and the shop workers. Everything about the shop screams "hipster," but not in a bad way! The walls are covered with art for sale, the music is alternative, and the employees are friendly and personable, and more than willingly to strike up a conversation with you. Our waiter was really knowledgeable about the food and gave us great suggestions, was attentive but not annoying, and really made us have a good time because he was having a good time. At one point in our meal, the music changed songs and the girl making our sandwich started singing the song, and our waiter sang along with her. Although this has nothing to do wight he food or service, I think it really added to the atmosphere, and it was really cute.
We grabbed a couple of bar seats, skimmed the menu, and ordered our tea and sandwiches. Being southern, I always prefer my tea iced and sweet, my boyfriend however is northern and prefers his tea hot. We both ordered the kiwi pear green tea, which was delicious, but I can honestly say it was so much better hot! Best advice is to order water with your sandwiches, and split a hot tea with your friends post-sandwich. I ordered the famous Mama Ling Ling's Thanksgiving sandwich, which is absolute perfection. The sandwich was huge and came with a perfect gravy dipping sauce, and I loved every bite of it. I ordered the southern slaw with it, and while I prefer mine a bit more vinegary, it was still fresh and yummy. My boyfriend ordered a build your own sandwich, and he noted that the roasted peppers and the fresh salsa were the ingredients that really shined. Our food was fresh, delicious, hand prepared right in front of us, and way worth the price.
TL;DR: Food (taste + price) - 10/10, Service - 10/10, Atmosphere - 10/10
I have nothing bad to say about this sandwicheria, only that I will be returning again and again to try all of their sandwiches. -

I tried the colossal PBJ sandwich on pumpernickel bread last night. If you're a PBJ fan like me then you have to try it. Its layered with peanut butter, strawberry jam, marshmallow fluff and bananas.
I will say though that I wasn't a big fan of their french onion soup. It tasted really salty for some reason. If you're looking for a sandwich to try I would recommend Mama Ling's or the Fu Man Chu. Overall this is a great place for sandwiches and a late night hangout spot. -

Came here for lunch with my fiancé.
Place is very small as you walk in just standing there at the entrance not knowing what to do with no available seats. The staff was very welcoming with each guests that came in to help with that awkward moment.
Sandwiches are awesome!!!!!! I'll have to try their teas next visit.

1 check-inMy husband and I was strolling around looking for a late night dinner and decided to check out Pom Poms. It's not the most beautiful area... it is in a sketchy strip mall, but most great places aren't always the nice looking ones.
It's pretty small area, so it maybe difficult to find some room to dine, even late at night! We were lucky enough to sit at the bar.
They have an extensive menu of sandwiches and even breakfast items (usually served past 11pm). I ordered the Cobb Sandwich on sourdough bread with a side of spicy turkey mac and cheese along with japanese green tea (which you can get either hot or cold).
My sandwich was pressed and warm and delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect with the spicy turkey mac and cheese, but it worked well together. The prices are reasonable and won't break the bank at all. -

If you want a sandwich, you just can't beat Pom Pom's! Seriously good food and unique shop. We almost always swing by Pom Pom's every time we visit Orlando. Usually, it's on a weekend, which means Pom Pom's would be open for 24 hrs. That means we would swing by even after dinner just to get a couple of sandwiches to go to snack on.
I've tried many of their sandwiches and can honest say I haven't had one I didn't like. My rotation of "Favorite" sandwich went from Yellow Curry Chicken Salad, to Big Daddy's Triple Decker, to Mama Ling's. We also like to try whatever flavor of tea they decide to cook up that day and have never been disappointed. -

1 check-inAt one time I scoffed at this place. I can make my own darn sandwich that won't cost $8! But alas, I gave in and I'm glad I did. Sure, you can make your own sandwich, but sometimes it just tastes better when someone else makes it. Plus, who has a full Thanksgiving spread on hand?
My favorites are the Mama Ling's Thanksgiving Sandwich or the Danny. Get one with a combo for a tea of the day and one of their awesome sides--I recommend the German potato salad or the noodles (mmm peanut sauce). And they always have a great-looking dessert case! -

3 check-insListed in Orlando SpotsWow! This place was so good that we actually came back here a second time in the same week during our visit to Florida.
Both times I ordered Mama Ling Ling's Thanksgiving sandwich which is astonishing good and I don't even like Thanksgiving day food. It's got mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, cream cheese, turkey and even comes with a side of hot gravy on the side. It makes you think...why didn't I ever make one of these at home after turkey day? Even if I had, I'm not sure it would have been this good!
My boyfriend was really into his Pastrami sandwich that he ordered it again on the second visit as well. Since we hit Pom Pom's up for our second visit right before heading to the airport to head home, we got a 3rd sandwich to share to eat later in the day on our travels. We got the Pulled Pork with goat cheese sandwich which didn't travel that well but it was still really good. If you really like goat cheese (which I do), you'll like this sandwich.
The sandwiches average about $8, but they are massive and very filling. There's also a few choices for your bread including Sourdough, Pumpernickel, Seeded Rye, and Whole Wheat.
From the outside, the place doesn't look like much. It's in a strip mall after all; however, the interior is super cute with colorful artwork on hot pink walls (they're for sale and some of them are super cheap -- like as little as $30). There's big colorful paper lanterns that hang from the ceiling too.
The staff were friendly and efficient. You can tell a lot of care goes into making each of the sandwiches. Next time I'm in the area visiting, I will definitely be back again.
The first time we came was on Small Business Saturday, so we paid with our Amex and actually got $10 back on our credit card. Awesome! To get over the $10 min. purchase needed to participate in the promotion, we ordered drinks as well. Despite being a Teahouse, I wasn't that into the drinks. My boyfriend got the Thai Tea, which was too sweet, and I got the Iced Chai which was only alright, and they're kinda pricey. I think their hot drinks, which they have ample of, are most likely, much better. We didn't order any of those since it was hot out and we were getting our order to go; however, if I was dining in, I would definitely be happy to try any on their extensive menu. -

I wish I can sum up in one word, to describe my satisfied feeling that I experienced. Sadly to say, I don't, but I can say....THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!! I had the spiced chai tea with a salad that contained, organic greens, crushed peanuts, red onions, gouda cheese and croutons w/sesame ginger dressing.

1 check-inListed in Art- where to see it, buy it, create itI love Pompoms! I have been coming to Pom's since Pom actually worked almoat every day in the store!
Imo some of the best sandwiches in Orlando. Not to mention their delish cheese grits! If you can't find a flavor of tea to enjoy at Pom's then you aint gonna find it any where. The cupcakes from Blue Bird are devine.
In addition to yum food, you can also find some really great art.
Poms staff are super fun and friendly. Many of them are artisit that display at Poms and other art venues. -

I know what you're thinking. I'm a yelp mega foodie, I want something truly incredible for lunch, should I really be going to a sandwich shop? Yes you should dear friend, this is so much more than just the sandwich shop. well, to be clear, they have tea and sandwiches, so basically is a sandwich shop. But it's a really incredible sandwich shop, the service was fantastic, the tea was great, the area it was in a refreshingly local area and very hipster cool for a want to be hipster visiting from out of town. Really great place, we hugely enjoyed ourselves and strongly encourage you to go check it out

2 check-insWell the hype about this place is so dead on. They have the most amazing tea and an incredibly unique spin on sandwiches. Please note that this place is small and extremely busy. I ordered the Cherry Bliss hot tea and the Mama Ling Thanksgiving Sandwich, and my daughter ordered the Spicy Elvis and Chocolate Creme hot tea.
My sandwich literally tasted like a delicious Thanksgiving meal and for a side I did have the spicy macaroni and cheese which was very tasty. I also tried my daughters Spicy Elvis which was a splendid twist on a Peanut Butter sandwich.
I love the ambiance because it is so quirky and cute. There is also art work available on the wall for purchase. I am definitely coming back. One of orlando 's hidden gem sandwich spots.-

1 check-inListed in Yelp 100 Challenge 2015This place was all that it was hyped up to be. There is something about thanksgiving-in-a-sandwich that is oh so satisfying. There is an excellent tea selection, and a very cool atmosphere. I went at 4pm, and it was still full-- that just shows how popular the place is. My sandwich came a with a side of spicy turkey mac and cheese which was delicious as well. Definitely worth a try!

1 check-inThis is the most awesomely decorated, friendly and fun small unique sandwich, breakfast, soup, tea shop in Orlando and in the entire south eastern United States. We drove to Orlando to experience it and were not disappointed. Well, actually, after we were chatting with the tea chemist behind the bar, we learned a second location is opening soon in St Petersburg! That's a lot closer to home!
Anyway, our soup, sandwiches and tea were delicious. I had a smoked salmon on pumpernickel which had juicy tomatoes, and this wonderful lemon caper aioli. Plus, the bread had this intense pumpernickel flavor that everyone wishes was in every loaf of pumpernickel! Only here!
We almost had to take a nap later we were so full. I mean, a good kind of full! -

1 check-inI think I got a different impression of Pom Poms because my friends rave about it and swore up and down that as a vegan with allergies I'll find a ton of stuff. This wasn't the case. The food still looks great and their tea selection is expansive, but the sandwich I got was just... meh.
I thought it must be just me because of my dietary restrictions but then I brought home a sandwich that looked like a mix of savory and sweet for my omnivorous husband and he also thought it was ok but didn't live up to the hype.
Don't get me wrong, it's still good! But I just wasn't at all blown away like I had been told I'd be. I still think it's worth a second try, especially since I live so close. -

Don't let the meager exterior in a strip mall fool you, this is legit. I had read the reviews, and as a tourist in town decided to stop in on my way to the airport for lunch. It's small inside (maybe 5 tables and a large family style bar table), but cheerful, and super friendly staff. I ordered the much discussed thanksgiving sandwich on sourdough
with the spicy Mac & cheese (also much discussed) along with the tea of the day (mint and passion fruit). All were amazing and I'm simply sad that I live several states away and won't be coming back soon to try out all of the incredible sounding sandwiches. Make sure you try this place! So unique. And tasty!-

Came here for lunch with my family. Their chicken curry salad sandwich is delicious, they toast the bread and the chicken curry salad is delicious.
We ordered a pot of tea and even got a free refill, this place is great!
My dad got the special with bacon and cheddar grits, that was amazing! The berry salad was fresh and filling and their selection of sandwiches makes it hard to choose one to try. I wish I lived closer to this neighborhood place! -

2 check-insMy go-to when I've gotta have a late night breakfast. Maple bacon grits with a side of bacon, or a bacon sumo with sausage gravy, please.
Sandwiches are also good - it's fun to come here off-season for a Mama Ling Ling's Thanksgiving sandwich when you want a turkey-and-stuffing fix with a side of gravy dip - and it's a cute place to stop in with a friend for afternoon tea and cupcakes. -

I've lived in orlando my whole life and I just recently visited this place for the first time, and it was a very enjoyable experience. I went on valentines day so it was probably a little more crowded than it is on non-holidays, but the service was still great.
The ambiance in the room was great, I loved all the local art hung up on the walls.
I got the passionfruit tea and the Big Daddy sandwich.
I can't wait to go back and try everything on their menu.
The tea selection was pretty good, however if looking for a wider selection I prefer places like Tea and Tea in the Winter Park Village
Would definitely recommend this place to a friend! Check it out! -

2 check-insI really do enjoy Pom Pom's now and then. My favorite thing is the tea selection. Good sandwich, good soup, but the salads are a little unwieldy to me as they come in a large bowl filled to the brim. Makes it hard for a hungry girl to stir all the ingredients together.
This isn't a go-to deli type spot so if you want a plain turkey sammy you should go to subway. Pom's has lots of funky sandwiches, and options to customize or create your own. I highly recommend trying the tea of the day. Sweetened if you're feeling the high does of sugar goodness. -

1 check-inEclectic, laid back atmosphere. Has that tattoo parlor type of vibe with the darker paint interior and furniture. There are about maybe 6-8 little tables. Along back end of the wall are breads they use for the sandwiches that are also for sale. It was $8 for a loaf. I was tempted to buy the pumpernickel because it was so good.
Very diverse clientele from bikers to families it seemed. We ordered the fumanchu sandwich and tea. Most tea has free refill so that was nice. The sandwich was really good! Service was friendly and fast.
Will have to come back and try the other sandwiches. -

Awesome late night sandwich place. Totally hipster chic, worth going to anyway (or because of). I can't say I have ever had a bad sandwich from here. Usually I get the curry chicken or the thanksgiving sandwich. I will say you should stick to the sandwiches, desserts and the teas.
I have been unimpressed with the two salads I have tried and the sides are nothing that I like, but for an interesting sandwich this is my go to place. -

Every time I've come here, whether it's been for a business meeting, or dinner with friends, I've enjoyed my experience. I've tried most of the sandwiches on the menu, and they're quite delicious. Diverse selection and generous portions are well appreciated. You can also build your own sandwich if you're picky. The selection of tea is also pretty extensive. I've been coming here for over two years and I still haven't managed to try every one.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. They seem to genuinely care about the business and they don't seem like they're going through the motions to earn a paycheck. The interior is nice with a focus on local Orlando artists. That's a big plus in my book.
I took off one star, and it pained me to do so because it's not really their fault, but I did because the place is really tiny inside. During lunch hours, I kinda feel rushed to eat and get out so the people standing around can sit down. Mind you, I don't feel rushed by the staff, they're cool. It's just my own little insecurity about pissing someone off because they had to wait while I chat with friends.
Try The Woody. It's kind of like a warped version of a Reuben. It's really good. Pair it up with some Asian slaw and a cup of hibiscus flower tea, and you're good to go. -

1 check-inThis place was amazing! I went with 4 other friends on a whim. We were looking for milk district and stumbled upon this place. We all got 5 different sandwiches and cut them up so all of us could try them. It's so difficult to say which one is my favorite because it depends on the mood you're in.
Thanksgiving dinner was surprisingly good! My friend licked all the graving up.
Another friend got the woody which I really enjoyed. We just wanted to try them all it was a hard decision to make.
Husband loved the salmon one. We also got the low rider which tasted like a dip for a football game. The combination was very creative yet it went well together. They also had a spicy Mac n cheese that everyone enjoyed.
Oh and the best part of the meal was the tea!! I got the peach flavor and the others got the kiwi pear. Our faces lit up when we found out they gave free refills!! All the flavor looked good and if I lived in Orlando I would definitely come back. The tea is light but just the right amount of flavor.
This place is definitely a must try for sandwich and tea lovers. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! -

I also tried the mimi thanksgiving sandwich and that was like eating everything that you would serve in thanksgiving in a sandwich its good! Beside the food the also have different blend of ice or hot tea also a must! Food beverage and customer service all in one stop! Bookmark this place because you come back and try other sandwichs

3 check-insSandwiches are good but this last time I went for the salad - and it was amazing! Big salad lovers rejoice - the salads here are leafy green and served up in a big ol bowl with plenty of toppings to fill you up. The dressing I had on this one was amazing too. I love a dressing where I cannot figure out what's in it. So much going on in my mouth!

Oh my Sweet Jay Zeus, could a sandwich be more flavorful?! Mama Mama Ling's Thanksgiving Sandwich is my master now and I'm a willing supplicant. Served on pressed pumpernickel, I was happy to drizzle the thick gravy over my sandwich. The peanut-flavored noodles were a good side. The Thai tea wasn't bad and it looked like other patrons were able to get refills served with a smile. Worth the wait for a seat and the pennies you'll spend. I'd be a hipster too if it meant I could eat like this for the rest of my life. I cannot wait to return - tomorrow?

1 check-inEarly morning in Downtown Orlando, looking for a breakfast... Nothing, nothing, closed, this one closed too...
Ok time to start using Yelp. Closed, closed... Pom Pom. Calling them... "We are open!". Awesome. We are going.
Hmm... looks like a hole in the wall. You go inside and it is much better. Looks nice.
Time for a morning tea. What a selection! Sandwiches... OMG!!! Amazing! I tried sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy and was surprised how good it was!
Other than that they serve wine and a few craft beers.
I am going to Orlando this weekend and guess where I am having my breakfast... :) -

1 check-inThis is a cute little place in a diverse neighborhood of Orlando. Mostly a younger crowd here with some retro music and campy atmosphere. Diverse and interesting crowd. I had Big Daddy's Triple Decker, roast beef, ham, turkey, slaw, Thousand Island, Munster, red onion, tomato. Delicious! I like Thousand Island dressing but not necessarily on sandwiches but this was not offensive at all! I went here with my niece and her husband and really enjoyed the sandwich and the experience. The potato salad was good too. I also had a hibiscus piña colada that was delicious.

We love Pom Pom's! The servers are always so calm and nice.
The outside is kind of shady, but go in and give it a try. I've been going for years, so I know where it is, but it is easy to miss.
I tend to build my own sandwich (turkey, brie, apples, sprouts, and cranberry chutney) so I don't have anything I can directly recommend. But I would not eat the sandwiches a day later if you take them to go, mine never holds well. -

This place is always packed but that's because they're amazing! Nice, cozy vibe. Great teas (hot or cold) and their Mama Ling Ling's thanksgiving sandwich is of the chain. My friends love the Viet Pom but the Mama Ling Ling sandwich is my go-to pick, especially with sourdough bread.

2 check-insI love this little teahouse/sandwich shop/dessert bakery stop. It's the little things that make it great, and everything added up together and my dining companion and I had an amazing time. They even sell PUP-cakes!!!!
If you're coming to Orlando and you're looking for a UNIQUE, FUN place that isnt a chain and isnt crazy snobby up-scale-foodie type place, then I highly highly recommend it! This place was cute and cuddly and filled with just the right amount of hipsters.
FU MAN CHU's Sandwich - omg. how much asian-styled meat can you load into a sandwich?! Also its DELICIOUS. The combination of the meat and the cranberry sauce and everything else just makes it so incredibly juicy, delicious, and mouth-wateringly flavourful. They also toast/press your bread so that its crunchy on the outside and warm on the inside! Just how I like it!!! YUMS.
STRAWBERRY LYCHEE SWEET TEA - im asian, so i usually dont order drinks. but when I heard their drink of the day was strawberry lychee sweet tea... well, anything lychee i'm gonna break my bank for! and it was not disappointing at all! If you are a true southerner and you're looking for true sweet tea, this isn't the place bc boy is it not as sweet as it is back home in tennessee. but it is GOOD! And it was just the right amount of sweetness for my cavity filled teeth.
BIG DADDY'S TRIPLE DECKER - my companion ordered this one. I dont particularly remember what was in it, just that he couldn't stop raving about it and wanted to order another one to go!
SERVICE-is amazing. the workers were incredibly quick, helpful, enjoyable to speak with about their restaurant favourites, and attentive. Service is ON POINT!!!! I cannot rave more about how attentive, friendly, and helpful the employees are!
COME! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! dont get fooled by the location; its worth the drive! GO QUICKLY! -

1 check-inFor our last day in Orlando, my boyfriend decided to skip the theme parks and just explore Orlando proper. For lunch, he knew that he wanted to try Pom Pom's due to all the rave reviews, so I obliged. It was busy when we arrived (not that many tables), so we ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes for a table to open up. By then, we were definitely starving. I decided to go for the combo (one sandwich, plus a side, and a drink) while my boyfriend had a side and a sandwich. We both chose the noodles, which reminded me of pad thai, which was pretty good. For sandwiches, I chose the highly popular Thanksgiving sandwich while my boyfriend opted for the Fu Man Chu. The Thanksgiving sandwich was pretty good (they give you gravy on the side to dip), but tasted a bit dry without the gravy. (I ended up running out of gravy by the time I started eating the second half). I tasted my boyfriend's sandwich and always wanted to eat the whole thing, it was so good! The flavors of the pulled pork, goat cheese, and chutney blended well together. I wish I had opted for that sandwich instead!
The tea I had was good, but nothing to write home about. The sandwiches were on regular sized bread, for about $8 each, so normal prices for New York (might be considered expensive elsewhere). Overall a good lunch choice. -

This is one of my favorite secret hideaway places in Orlando. The food is fantastic, creative, and fun. The atmosphere is eclectic. It's small, so probably not somewhere you want to bring a large group of people...and don't be put off by the exterior!!! (It's in a little shopping center and the surroundings look a little run down, but the inside, the food, and the service are GREAT.) Best of all: it's open 24 hours, so if you've had a late night and want to grab DELICIOUS food (instead of hitting the drive through), this is your spot!

1 check-inI really wanted to love this place based on the reviews. It has been on my list to try for quite some time. I went in prepared to order the Thanksgiving sandwich but went with the Woody instead because I'm a sucker for pastrami and this is their version of a Rueben. The hubby went with the Tuna melt. Both sandwiches require melted cheese. Unfortunately, we got kinda sorta melted cheese that was more like limp, lukewarm unmelted cheese. If you're a sandwich shop, you simply can't screw up melting cheese. It's unforgivable in my book. Our waitress was apologetic and offered us entirely new sandwiches. We didn't want to waste food so we ate it the way it came. It was good but not outrageously unbelievably good. It's too bad really.

YAy! Great iced tea and sandwiches! Wonderful tea flavor selection and they'll steep you one free refill since the tea leaves can go for 2 steeps. Asian-influenced sandwiches and sides make this unique. Funky artwork on the walls. Great place to do dinner or lunch before going downtown.
