Columbian food is becoming a quick favorite of mine!! Maybe it's the huge abundance of food for the value, but it's fantastic! The steaks and meat are well portioned and vtender, filled with flavor. It comes with white rice and beans, but I love the yellow rice. There's a bunch of combination plates where there are chicken and steak. The chicken is always tender, the meat juicy and flavorful. They are def. masters of their rotisserie chicken. I love coming here with people because one plate of food is ALWAYS too much for me.
Highly recommend the seafood casserole if you want seafood. The soup is creamy like a chowder, saffron infused, filled with a mix of seafood like scallops, shrimp, mussels, crab. It's so comforting like a good chunky chowder, served in a hot casserole bowl. I had it with yellow rice and french fries (accompanies the dish) and was given a bowl of green salad in the beginning.

To die for.. and I come at least once a month for a meal that hits the spot!!

colombian food, ok this is the deal. i walked in at 2am. i ask the server if he had any specials and if it took long to come out. he said that nothing took long to come out and recommended the entraña steak. comes with rice, beans and french fries.

entraña comes out. big piece of steak. nice and juicy. medium. good.. but, the rice and beans were COLD, french fries were not fresh and my bill came up to 20$ hmmm naw, i wont be coming back. twenty dollars for what i had is a ripoff.

Comfort food, seriously delicious comfort food. Their portions are extremely generous too. They have great chicken, moist and tender- Huge portions of rice, and generous servings of beans (don't believe me? ask for a "small"). The chicken in rice is also great, with plenty of pieces of chicken amidst the overfilled container of yellow rice. When you order a meal for dinner, you're also getting a midnight snack and a breakfast the next morning. (or lunch if you're a more traditional breakfast person)

For the price, there's few better deals in Astoria. They deliver too, and they delivery is prompt, even in the pouring rain.

Gigantic portions of some seriously filling food.

Got some delivery, it was pretty timely. They said "10 minutes" and it was more like 30, but I'm down with that.

The rice and chicken I ordered lasted about 4 meals. 4 very large meals. And there was still some left when I finally had to give up the ghost and move on to different things. At about $8, it feed me for nearly a week!

Mine came with fried plantains. I was thinking, oh yeah I could go for a couple of pieces of that. Yeah, it was the whole banana. Awesome.

I eat here pretty often and I must say that their food is consistently good. I have yet to leave this place disappointed. Their chicken is amazing! I would dare say is probably the best roast chicken I've had. I'm Dominican and I would think a Dominican place would have the best chicken since we eat so much of it but I have to give it to Pollos Marios this Colombian place knows how to make chicken. The service is not great but for the food you're getting and the low prices it seems like a minor inconvenience.

I was really in the mood for chicken.  So my husband and I went to this place for take out.  Service was very poor, the person who took our order had an attitude before I opened my mouth.  We ordered a whole chicken, which was a bit under cooked for our taste.  However it was very well seasoned.  The beans.  I don't know what was in the beans, some sort of fatty skin pieces and other miscellaneous stuff.  Needless to say we did not eat the beans so I'm unable to tell how it tasted.  The yucca frittas were good, nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.  The consistency was perfect but it lacked any flavor.  I've had much better.  I asked for the mojito that goes with the chicken and was told they didn't have anything like that.

(Disclaimer: This review is for the Roosevelt location).

Pros: Delicious food, cheap eats, huge portions, menu has lots of variety
Cons: street parking is tough, salt gets a little overbearing after awhile

If  you have not had Colombian food before this place is worth a visit. Rice, beans, platanos, meats----I love them all!!! Looking at the 70+ item menu with photos gives me both involuntary salivating and a migraine from the excitement.

This is the perfect place to hit up after a heavy lifting session at the gym. The front of the restaurant also has a pastry section.

My only criticisms: (1) the saltiness of the food, especially the meats, may get to you after awhile; I just balance it out with water and platanos; (2) you WILL be charged for any additional "extras" you request, such as a type of salsa, etc.; (3) difficult street parking.

AMAZING COLOMBIAN FOOD. This chain is OFF THE HOOK! I went with the flow when my friend suggested this for lunch on a weekend. When we drove by and I saw a not so gentrified neighborhood, I knew I was in for some good food. Don't expect high brow service  here, as your water may not be refilled for half an hour. Do expect your knife to be flimsy and have a plastic handle. A tip for the wise: you must ask for the salsa to pour over your meat/rice. It makes all the difference. The paella and rotisserie chicken looked jizztastic as well. Comfort food doesn't get much better than this folks. Instant food coma. Must come back for more.

Ordered:
#15 - Bistec ($11.25 x2) - Heaps of sinful goodness a la beans and rice, plenty of sauteed onions over the bistec, which was huge, flat and tender, not tough at all, would have preferred black beans but still good

Total came out to $14/pp after everything

The small neighborhood of Astoria in Queens is definitely one of the best food capitals in the world. This place is real South American fare. Half the staff doesn't even speak English but they damn sure know their pollo. The ambiance is a bit tacky, and the color scheme is a rainbow explosion!...
I'd expect nothing less from a true Colombian joint.  :)

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 8 years.  I must say, I love it every time.  Great food with good sized portions and good service.  I usually get a chicken dish and I'm happy every time.  Definitely worth trying.

Columbian style cooking:
I visit this place on occasion, mostly for carryout and rarely for delivery. Delivery from here is expensive. I think thay make up the charges as they go. Just a month ago, I order the roasted chickn combo and soup and the order was like $16.00 - way too much!

I was too hungry to argue the point and at home sick, but I decided that I would never have anything delivered from there again. And i din't want a confrontation on the phone with the girl at the counter. It would seem they would be nicer to me, since I go so often.

The service here is either hit or miss. The girls at the counter are usually not friendly - they forget your order, do not remember substitions, and speak to thier coworkers in spanish, when trying to place your order.

So you wonder, why do I put myself through this kind of service - it's simple. They do roasted chicken right! The servings are huge and tasty.  Also the chicken comes with this marinated vinegar sauce that gives the chicken a kick!  Really its simple, the FOOD is GOOD!

If I could give them lots of stars on only the chicken and that's about all.

The service takes alot away from the experience. Also, the decor is interesting - fake orange tree in the middle of the restaraunt.

Yum yum yum give me some. It's quick and dirty and chap and best eaten in the comfort of your own home. Especially if you are about to tear into a bag of chiccarone and may want to enjoy the greasy bliss in private. I haven't had a thing here i haven't enjoyed. When we lived in Astoria, the  pollo a la prasa and rice were a staple.

Gotta love this place. Legitimate Columbian dining with great delivery service. If you look Hispanic at all, get ready to be initially talked to in Spanish even if you don't speak it! Yucas Fritas and Arroz con Pollo(rice w/ chicken) is really all you need here and you're golden. Highly recommend the Yucas Fritas at the very least. Haven't tried much else but in general their chicken and rice dishes that I've seen are made very well and seem to be quality stuff. They are open 24 hours on the weekend which is a plus. Price wise, you get a lot of food for what you pay for. Boom

My all time favorite Colombian restaurant, cheap and very very fulfilling type of food. When I used to work in Astoria, I used to eat here a lot for lunch with my boss and my friends, their lunch specials everyday were different and I loved it!! I still come by here every now for dinner and it's still good :) NO COMPLAINTS.

I am *pissed*.

Okay, I'll try to simmer down but I am hungry and angry and that is never pretty.
So...Pros: Open until 6 AM on weekends. Large portions.

Cons:
The yellow rice was extremely salty, tasted not a bit of annato, and was really weirdly strewn with frozen vegetables. Egh.
The roasted chicken was acceptable in its dark section but dry and tasteless in the white meat. The ubiquitous creamy green sauce might have saved it but our order only came with a thin salsa that was unequal to the task of rehydrating the dry bird.
The black beans were merely acceptable.
The arepa con queso was perfunctory, dry and tasted a bit burnt.
And the maduros? Well I don't know. I ordered them, paid for them, and yet they weren't actually given to me.
Yay.

Great for delivery - wonderful large portions of Arroz con Pollo and their Pechuga ala Plancha is good too.  Very affordable.  Good for ordering in or eating at the restaurant.

I have never eaten there, but i have picked up a food or had food delivered about a dozen times.  The chicken is really amazing.  When they are done cooking it, instead of keeping the chicken under hot lights to maintain temperature, they keep the chicken in some kinda steamer.  The result is a very moist chicken.  Lots of flavor.  One of the best chickens i've ever had.  The yuka fried are great also, much better and less greasy than regular french fries.  I dont enjoy the soups or the rice porridge at all, but the yellow rice is very flavorful and moist.  I recommend this place for take out, i doubt i will ever cook a full chicken again, when this is about the same price and much better than what my oven could do.
