Best nail salon I've ever been in the Elk Grove area. I felt very welcome when we came in, even though we were just a "walk-in." The place is clean and ambience is great, very inviting! The service they provided was wonderful. I came in with my daughter and Mary did her nails--she was very friendly and chatty, but professional. She suggested colors, designs, etc. Right away,we felt comfortable with Mary even though it was just our first time there. Trang Tranh did my nails; she was quieter than Mary, but equally professional and friendly. The quality of work is superb; how they cleaned our nails and the end result of the mani/pedi was beautiful!
This is the only nail place I've ever been where the Asian employees did not speak foreign language to each other and so I did not have that awkward feeling that they may be talking about me!
I did not give it a five-star because their prices are more expensive compared to others. -

Why did it take me almost 2 hours to get a gel manicure????? And they charge $10 more than other places do. And they look like shit!
Back to Melody Salon downtown. I thought "why not pay more because it's closer and how can you screw up a gel manicure?"
NO BUENO! I will driver further to avoid coming here again. -

Had a wonderful experience here! Made an appointment for a mani and pedi and was out of there in about an hour and a half. I didn't catch the name of the girl that did it, but she did an excelled job. I got the gel manicure and she did a wonderful job painting my nails. Conversation was light (which I love) and she was very personable. I will definitely be going back.

Polished is a nice change to the meat market of other nail salons aka chop shops. The crazy thing is some of these chop shops actually give a decent pedicure, it's just all of the bs you have to put up with. The excessive chatting in Vietnamese , lack of hygiene, old polish, kids running around, etc.
Polished is non of that and although they are clean could do a little better, I noticed dust bunnies floating around, not the tidest bathroom, and the counters could be wiped down. I am impressed and feel very secure with their sanitation methods. I like that they don't dig and cut at your cuticles like they are a surgeon or podiatrist. They keep the pedicures simple and basic. The massages are not that long but if I want a long foot massage I can head to the $20 foot massage place. Unfortunately due to their slightly higherprices I can't afford to frequent as much as I like. However they are great when you want a special treat or don't feel like dealing with the chop shops. -

I've been driving by this nail salon and have read several reviews but it wasn't until a 13 year old asked me to take her there that I decided to give it a try.
There are a few pros and some cons to this nail salon.
Pros:
-I must say the ambiance is wonderful and does stand out from other nail salons.
-You will not be lost in translation in this location.
-They offer you beverages.
-All their files, nail buffs, and equipment come from a newly opened bag for every client.
-They carry top of the line nail colors.
Cons:
-Because the ladies that work there are more of a younger and hipper generation, you can sense the cattiness they have amongst each other (between coworker to coworker). Its a pretty tense environment.
-The price is UP there!
-No massage chair.
So, it ultimately boils down to what you are looking for in a nail salon.
For me, I've never returned since. -

Over the years I have been to many nail bars and this place is by far the best! Not only does everyone speak English but they are all very friendly and do a great job. I've had many different technicians but Chau is my very favorite!! Polished is totally worth the money. I've been places that charge just as much, don't speak to me at all and speak in another language the entire time. You should definitely try Polished. You'll love it!

Polished Nail Bar is a good looking place. Concrete floor, small tiles on the counters, long pillowed bench along the wall.
I went expecting professionalism but I got a young lady that acted more like we were homies and I don't want that. I only went for waxing and I was disappointed with that as one eyebrow is thinner than the other and there's no fixing taking too much unless you take more off the other.
When it was all over she wiped down the area with cotton dabbed in finishing oil and she said it looked oily and that I could just wipe it off and she walked out of the room turning the light off when I was still in it, door open.
Okay.
So, I rather not come back. Not even for nails. -

The service was great..Mary did my pedicure which came out very nice, with zebra print on my toes, which I have been receiving compliments:)). I had a nail on my finger that is totally messed up and Mary made some great suggestions regarding correcting the damaged nail!! The only thing I did not like is when it was time for my manicure, the owner had Mary to do someone elses full set, and another women had to do mines:((, but Mary did fix the nail that is messed up. I told her next time, I hope she can give me full service without being pulled away to do someone elses nails. Now that is what I did not like!!

I received a manicure at this establishment. I have to agree with the other person who said the nail technician acted unprofessional during the visit. When I arrived for my appointment my nail technician had left for the evening. First I had to wait for her to return, and then I had to listen to her complain about the hours she works each week and how hard things are for her in Sacramento vs. Maryland.
Honestly, I would not recommend this place. It's all flash with no substance. -

PROS...atmosphere is very cute, clean and relaxing...they give you your tools to take home so you know that you are not getting recycled tools on your hands and feet...you are offered drinks once you sit down...and everyone is generally very friendly...one time we went there and got a free mini facial because we had to wait kind of long for a mani...julie the owner is a lot of fun too.
CONS...very short massages...so-so nail filing and cuticle trimming...horrible polish application...i have not once left there without polish on the skin surrounding my nails or bubbles in my polish
i like the people and the interior of the shop so much that i keep wanting to give it a chance...but i can paint my nails horribly on my own for free...what a dilemma. -

If you're short on time and cash and need a manicure or pedi, you're better off at one of the hundreds of other nail sweat shops that have popped up all over Elk Grove.
I got a pedicure from Stacie and it was one of the best pedis I've received in a long time. She takes her time (over an hour!) and she is a true professional. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work. Her foot massages are so relaxing; she insists that you sit back and close your eyes to really enjoy it. For a little extra I got a paraffin wax dip. The other extras: you get all the implements, including the foam toe separator. In addition, the scrubs come in individual containers and you also take home the leftovers. I got the pomegranate scrub and there's also a lemongrass one and she gave them both to me when I left.
They use OPI polish and you pick your color from a wheel of artificial nails. Much better than trying to figure out what color from the bottle alone.
I will be definitely going back when I'm in need of a little extra pampering. -

Love this shop. First off, most nail shops are asians who can't speak english. NOT this place. EVERYONE speaks english, and the employees are multi cultural. If you talk to the very sweet owner she even admits that she wanted a salon that was warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate to the employees (nothing more frustrating then when an employee doesnt speak proper english).
Second, they NEVER reuse any tools what so ever. Everything is 100% clean and sterile. They even give you the buffer pad, toe separators, and the lil pick thingy (dont know what its called) to take home. You pick what kind of lotions and scrubs you want, and the same with the paraffin wax. May I recommend the Lavender paraffin, and the green tea scrub/lotion. Just thinking about it I am relaxed.
Third, ENDLESS choices of OPI nail polish. I have gone four weeks without it chipping. As well as, a lot of the girls know how to do really cool custom designs on your toes (tiger, zebra print, leopard, etc) and I think it was only a few dollars more.
I always make an appointment. A lot of times you can get right in. But because it is such a busy spot, its best to make an appointment.
Oh! And when you are getting pampered they serve you drinks.
Its really heaven on earth. Check it out. Yes, its a lil pricey. But if I know I am getting quality products, 100% clean (no fungus is always a plus ;), and great service then its worth my $30-40 pedicure. I think they have a $50 pedi as well. Cant remember. They have a website that has a menu of their services. -

This is my new nail salon. It's very clean, and sanitary. I would love a massage chair but I'm happy with the service and products I receive. Mai and Tina are my fav technicians. The receptionist is awesome as well, I don't know her name.

Polished Nail Bar is an exceptional nail salon and surprisingly reasonably priced. As I like to say, the inside is very feng shui chic- deco is modern and sophisticated.
The manicure "bar" is simply that-- set up like a bar, your manicurist is like the bartender, and the client comfortably seated on the opposite side on a bar stool. Clients receive their pedicures on the opposite side of the salon where seating is bench-style and color coordinated w/ plenty of pillows.
Party accomodations are available w/ advance notice. They serve complimentary juice and champagne and also send you home w/ samples of scrubs & lotions used while rendering services along w/ the nail file, buffer and pedi toe seperator. Parties are also welcome to bring their own appetizers, refreshements and wines. A table is available for your set up.
I have designated Polished Nail Bar as mani/ pedi joint. I plan on bringing my husband over there for a mani/ pedi one of these days too! 5 Stars! -

I went today for the first time for a pedi. It was the cleanest nail salon I've ever been to. They even gave me the files since they don't reuse them. No place has ever done that! Besides the cleanliness of it, I was able to soak for a bit and my feet were very happy. Lynn, who did my pedi, was very nice and did a great job on my very in need feet. An appointment is highly recommended since it is not one of those get you in and get you out places. I have found the best pedicure place ever...and i have been to a lot of nail salons. Awesome.

My sister is getting married this weekend and we went to Polished together for mani/pedis. I had a great experience here. Instead of other reviewers who described the staff as unprofessional, I found the people at Polished warm and easy to talk to. As I was getting my pedicure the staff and customers gossiped about men, weddings, celeb gossip etc.! Good old fashioned girl talk. :)
You certainly won't get nicer decor and surroundings anywhere in Sacramento! Great pedicure and an okay manicure (new full set). And they don't have those awful massage chairs! Yuck! And everything was clean, clean, clean!
This place is great for a group party and I would go there again. -

My bridesmaid took me here as an early wedding gift. When we walked in, the staff greeted us. The receptionist was such a doll, she immediately asked what we wanted to drink ---- juice, hot tea, champagne?? Oohhhh... fancy!
The ladies who did our manis and pedis were so sweet. The lady who did my nails was sooo talkative and cute. She found out I was getting married and she was so excited. After my session, she gave me a special treat --- she did artwork on my big toes ---- two pretty red flowers.
The second time, I brought my sis and I felt bad for her cuz the lady doing her nails didn't really put 100% effort into my sis. I'll still come back though.
The establishment is very clean, they use clean tools, and the staff washes their stations after each use ---- very impressed! -

My review is specifically for EYEBROW WAXING!
Polished does an AMAZING job on waxing eyebrows. I have been satisfied with the work of two of its staff. Not only do they take their time on perfecting my brows, but they also inform me on what they've done and what I should do to maintain nice-looking eyebrows. The last time I visited, an asian lady did my brows. She had informed me that she left 2 strands of hair alone that, if looked up close, seem missed. She said that she didn't want to touch those b/c she wants them to grow out so that they can create a better look and shape a few weeks after. Before doing all that, she asked if I'd like to have thicker brows (previous waxers in other places have thinned out my eyebrows). I said "sure." I walked out of there extremely satisfied with what she did. I'm a fan =) -

I went to Polished after being recommended by a girlfriend. For the most part, I have to say this place is really nice, but there are downfalls as well.
The atmosphere is gorgeous. Polished is exceptionally clean and their supplies seem to be thoroughly sterilized, which is crucial for me. The lack of a language barrier problem is helpful too. I love that I can easily explain what I want and I can get it without feeling awkward or put on the spot. I definitely think you pay for customer service here -- I was surprised when I was offered a cold drink (juice, water or wine). It was a pleasant surprise. And also when people made a point of remembering my name and using it when they spoke to me. The nail bar and pedicure wall with decorative accents was very Hollywood or Vegasesque. Although my manicurist was pretty good, she talked my ear off and I really wanted to "relax." She started to treat me like I was her friend, and although I know what she was trying to do, I really didn't go there to make friends. I wanted to RELAX. She just kept talking and talking and talking. Blah!
The decor of Polished is great; however, they don't have massage chairs which to me is a great relaxing touch when you're getting your feet done. This place lacked that. Plus my manicurist didn't massage my feet as long as places that charge far less do.
For that reason I gave this place 3 out of 5 stars. Although, the decor is great, and I do think it's important to have a clean, stylish salon that stands out...it still lacks some of the relaxation features I look for when I want to destress with a manicure or pedicure...
I won't be going back, even though I gave it a fair rating. It was overpriced, even though it was extremely pretty. For that price, I want a longer foot/calf massage and a massage chair. -

For the price this place is ok. I treated my mom to a mani/pedi and the service was ok for the price. The staff was friendly but they chatted more than they actually serviced us. I loved that they gave us the stuff they used on us, especially the pineapple scrub and lotion. It smelled so yummy I wish they had it for retail. It was a fun experience with my mom but next time I think we will go somewhere else.

I just recently switched nail salons. I always drive past this salon whenever I'm in Elk Grove. One day I decided to stop in; upon hearing all the good reviews about Lisa and her amazing services. I walked in with acrylic nails and left with a beautiful set. But I'm very rough on my nails with coaching and cheering. So i went back to Lisa earlier than most people do she saw my nails and asked what happened... I told her and she came up with a solution : To take my acrylic off and have me get a gel manicure. Not knowing what that was I wasn't sure at first, the whole reason I have acrylic I told her is so it continues to look nice. And she told me not to worry this is new kind of manicure where the color is built into the gel and its looks amazing for 2 - 3 weeks. I finally decided to do it!
And it looks amazing!!! She does such a wonderful job! i will never put the acrylic back on my nails. Whats even more amazing is that the Gel is less money than the acrylic and I get a full manicure with it. It is SO Worth it!
I just started getting pedicures from her as well and WOW I have had someone take so much care to the needs of my feet! -

It's been some time since I've been back, but I scheduled an appointment for a lash perm. They don't offer too much of that around here in Sacramento, for I've always gotten it done out in San Fran. The receptionist was really nice, and this place is as busy as ever! I landed here this time during a Thursday 11am and they place was crackin' with mainly middle aged to older ladies, as well as the hip and young employees. The service is still superb, just like I mentioned in my previous reviews. The lash perm job I got was good and I'm happy with it. Although the bottom of the lashes weren't really curled like how they used to do mine in S.F. This job took half the time, so that is a plus in many cases. I'll be back for sure.

I had an appt yesterday with Stacie and she was FANTASTIC. I made the appt with Stacie after reading other reviews and it was so worth it. The salon itself was very nice and had a fun atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. Stacie is really nice and a true professional. The massage portion was especially nice and relaxing.
This is the only place I would go for a pedicure now, and Stacie is the only person I would see. Thanks Stacie!! -

5 stars! AMAZING! This place is so cutesy. Its not like all the other nail salons all over Elk Grove. The people here take their time. The scrubs smell great. You get to take the leftover scrub in a little container. My pedicure was almost an hour. Their special for this month is free pedicure upgrade(includes parrfain), so you are pretty much paying $25 for a nice pedicure. They also do facials, waxing, and parties. So a few of my co-workers went to this place and had a terrible experience. Apparently a few of the girls had just gotten their nail tech license and did a terrible job. Before I went to this place, I also heard from another friend that this place was not very good. I always like to try things out anyway. I guess service varies here. -

This place is definitely different from all of the other nail salons in the area. It is new, hip and comfortable. I love the seating because it reminds me of some of my favorite nail salons in San Francisco. There is a long couch along the side wall where they do the pedicures and a bar across the room where they do the manis. It is so cute and color coordinated. The owner is very friendly and walks around and talks to everyone. It sort of made me feel like I was hanging out at a friends house getting our nails done because everyone else who goes there is friendly. Lots of laughter when I was there. Though the lady who did my nails clipped them shorter than I usually like them to be, this will definitely be my new hotspot! Paid $25 for a pedi, no paraffin.

I have been going to STACIE at Polished Nail Bar for over a year now. She gives the best manicures and pedicures!!
As others have stated in the previous reviews, she is a true professional!! She goes the extra mile to make you feel pampered and relaxed!
All the tools/files she uses are either new or sanitized. And she gives you the extras or things she can't re-use to take home. And most importantly (in my opinion) she doesn't overcut the cuticles like so many other places do!!
I called Polished Nail Bar the other day to schedule an appointment with Stacie & they kindly told me Stacie moved to another salon and gave me her contact information. I appreciate that they gave her forwarding information.
For those of you who want to contact Stacie, she is now at Taglio Salon & Spa in the development behind BJ's Restaurant on Laguna Blvd. (Her prices have not changed AND she takes anywhere from 45 min. to an hour for your service -- so you get more for your money compared to a lot of walk in places that rush you out of there within 30 minutes).

This has become my only nail salon to go in elk grove. It is close and they do this gel manicure which lasts about 2 weeks. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. If you want a manicure, you have to sit on these bar type stools so if you are looking for something more comfortable to sit in, it won't be in this place. The ladies speak english - (thank goodness). Nothing is more uncomfortable than going to a salon where they don't understand what you want and it is difficult to explain to them. Depending on the person who is doing your nails, they can be a little bit unprofessional. I was getting my nails done there yesterday, and these ladies kept on calling my nail technician to come look at the pictures on the computer. Did they not realize she had a customer? My nail techinician was smart and nice enough to reply, "maybe later since I have a customer". I would definately recommend making an appointment since this place is always so busy. Overall, a nice nail salon.

I went in to Polished for the first time this weekend and loved it. I got my nails done by the awesome Lisa! It was great to have somebody actually care about the quality of their work. It did take a little longer than the standard nail shop but Lisa is not the standard nail technician. Her work is quality and she is very friendly, she even took the time to push down my cuticles. LOL! Seems small but it was nice to know she cared. Time flew by as I was actually able to have a conversation with my nail technician. Everybody in the shop speak perfect english and they are all very warm and friendly. I will definitely be returning for my fill and a pedicure once the sun arrives. :)

I first stepped into Polished on the recommendation of my son's fifth grade teacher. I love getting pedicures and have literally tried every spot here in the pocket area and although they have spa prices they are definitely not spa quality. When I walked in I thought, hmmm this place is really nice and it's clean, huge clean fan (a little OCD) cleanliness is important to me any place I go!! I noticed there were no finger prints on the glass doors, the floor was clean too, there were no nail trimmings on the floor etc... As soon as I sat down to pick through a basket of colors which are painted on fake nail pallets (not just in the bottle on the wall) both my husband and I were offered a variety of drinks including champagne, juice, and mineral water! Fabulous!! Then I was taken over to the wall of cushions and pillows to start my pedicure. The water was perfect I tested it myself, I got to choose from three different scrubs and lotions (I choose the green tea, it's amazing), and then I received the most relaxing pedicure that I have had in a long time. It was so wonderful I put my head back, closed my eyes, and drifted off. My husband later commented on it being hard to watch my bliss. The person who did my pedicure was a man, his name was Quyn (I think that's how you spell it), he was very gentle and firm at the same time. Not to mention that he hand painted perfect zebra stripes on my beautifully green polished (Jade is the new Black) toes! I didn't have a single complaint. Honestly one of the best experiences I have had at a nail salon in a long time. The refresh pedi was $28.00 but definitely spa quality. I enjoyed it so much I purchased a gift certificate for my girlfriend for her birthday. She got a full-set with Quyn and said they laughed and joked the whole time, she had so much fun and she can't wait to go back; this time we'll go together.

Overall my experience was ok. The girl that did my nails just graduated from the beauty school when i went. So she was still kind of new. Overall the service was great and the service was nice its only that my nails were kind of crooked.. not to mention they charge an extra 5 dollars just to do french tips... if i go back i'm going to ask for.... i believe her name is stacie... She did an excellent job with my friends nails!

My 5 stars go to Mai. I went to this Nail salon for the first time with my sister and my mom. They have been to Nail Bar before so they knew what great work Mai does. I got Mai and was very happy with my nails but they were not happy with the girls they got. We would all like to have Mai work on your nails at once but that's not possible. My moms nail polish started to chip off that same week. Plus the girl with straight long brown hair was rude by having a attitude when my mom tried to make a friendly conversation. If you are thinking about going here make an appointment with Mai and you will be satisfied on how it looks, how long it will last and her great customer service.

I went to this place based on a recommendation of a friend. It was awesome. I had a pedi with the paraffin wax. It was amazing. Lynn was professional and thorough! I am so pleased with everything. I will definitely go back.
