We stayed here for 2 nights in February 2007.  This Inn served continental style breakfast and had water for coffee and tea around the clock, but did not serve food as a previous poster asserted.

This Inn did (and does), however, allow dogs.  This can sometimes be difficult for us...even with dog friendly establisments - many of which have size/weight restrictions or restrictions for number of dogs.  The Point Reyes Station Inn not only allowed us and our 3 dogs (ranging in size from German Shepherd to Cattle dog), they did so without additional fees for the doggies!!  How cool!

We stayed in the "Garden" room.  Sizable garden area for the dogs to do their business with gated direct access to parking lot.  (This allows dog direct entry to the room without going through the Inn common areas.)  The room itself was adequate, but a little small considering we were sharing the space with 3 dogs!  The tv was small....the only other real downers were....The bathroom light fixture was LOUD!  And...the bed was very noisy (yes....even without hanky-panky) - just turning over created a decibel level unfit for snoozing.

Those minor things aside, the Inn was a very enjoyable stay for us.  Close to "town" (the 3 block long shopping/restaurant area that is the commercial hub of Point Reyes Station) the Inn was easy to get to, comfy and the Innkeepers were quite nice.

As a lifelong resident of the Bay Area (born in Berkeley, raised in Oakland) I'm surprised on a trip like this just how much there is to see so close to home.  Even in the rain and fog, we had a great time visiting this area and in particular, enjoyed our trip to the Point Reyes Lighthouse.  The Point Reyes Station Inn was our home for a couple of days and we look forward to exploring this area of our backyard again soon.  When we do...look for us...and the dogs...at the Point Reyes Station Inn.

We always have lunch or dinner here when we take a day trip to Point Reyes or Olema.  The food is terrific (my favorite is the fresh Tomales Bay oysters) and afterwards you can stop by Cowgirl Creamery (1 block away) to pick up some terrific cheeses to bring home.
