Booking on the B&B's website, we arrived on the start of Memorial Weekend. It was after check-in and Tom (the owner) left the front door open and a welcome letter on the desk, providing directions to our room and itinerary around the place.

Opening Room #4, we saw a queen size four-post bed (so comfy!), an antique dresser, two reading chairs, wine glasses, and a private bathroom. The room had many large windows, allowing us to gaze far into the hills.

We propped down our stuff and settled in to ... the quietness! It definitely took some getting use to, without the hustle & bustle of a City. We could hear the wind chime of a neighboring house, probably 50 yards away! On the balcony, we enjoyed wine, read, and heard and saw many birds.

We also propped down in the living room area with high ceiling and lots of natural light ... perusing through various books. Outside, there's a large patio area where other guests conversed with friends ... and the stable is viewable from this location.

At 9am every morning, the smell of cinnamon buns drifts into our room. We join other guests downstairs in the living room area where dining tables are also located. We help ourselves to coffee, tea, and orange juice. Tom or his wife (apologies for forgetting her name) would bring delicious home-cooked breakfast, by the plate, to us. We thoroughly enjoyed this as it's just perfect to start off a day of hikes.

The only thing that concerned me was the towels, although I'm sure they were clean and are very soft/comfortable, looked old and used.

Cellphone reception is sketchy but no worries, Tom provides a in-house land-line with free long distance. The location is a 3min drive to downtown and very close into Pt. Reyes National Park .. or up to Marshall for Tamales Bay. No TV, no radio, no wireless ... just enjoy the company of your travel companion and their hospitality, what a thought!

Thank you, Tom for sharing your lovely place!

We'd been cyclintg into headwinds all day when we arrived in Point Reyes.  This was the only place in town with rooms left when we arrived.  Tom was so inconceivably rude to us that we opted to ride on to the Olema Inn.   I will never spend a cent in this place.
