I'm guessing this place is more of a breakfast place, because I've had lunch picked up a few times here and was very disappointed.  My coworkers and I usually get take out somewhere near Harbor Island where we work because the deli downstairs sucks and it's a ripoff.  After getting a turkey, avocado, and cheese sandwich with soggy, salty turkey and burnt wheat toast, I wish I had just gone to our deli.  For $8, there's no excuse for a simple sandwich to be that bad.  It wasn't just my order that was sub par - my boss threw his in the trash... and then went to the deli downstairs!

This was the very first place my bf took me to on my very first visit to SD back in October!  They make great omelettes, and well-stacked pancakes!  The first time we went I got a veggie omelette which had a good amount of veggies in it, and the second time we went I got strawberry-banana pancakes (I think...) and there was more then enough for me to eat.  I ended up doggy-bagging that which wasn't too great later on.

I agree w/ Sharu L., though, in that their service can be really slow, but there aren't many tables to begin with.

Another plus about this location (not directly related to it though...) is that I love driving by Sunset Cliffs...it's so gorgeous :]

Brought my two kids in for breakfast the other day and it went pretty well.  There are some creative omelettes to be had and the kids had a good time (and didn't have to wait very long).

Very small cafe on Shelter Island Dr near Roscrans, it's in the same mall as Subway and a small liquor store. They have a pretty standard menu for American breakfast and lunch food. My favorite is their Mary's Salad, with cottange cheese, mix berries, pine nuts, cheese and turkey, very original and very tasty (all the things I like). I had their breakfast food too, pretty good, egg benedict is good. It is a nice neighborhood cafe run by family (I assume).

minus 1 star because they are slow, slow, slow! There's only 1 person cooking so it can take very long when the place is crowded.
minus 1 more star for them not washing my lettuce. I had a sandy salad (literally! sand!) once............errrrr. I don't think they wash the lettuce still, but I still order that salad, I forgive them...
