This property is UNBELIEVABLE. My fiance and I stayed here for one night over my birthday weekend, and we did not want to leave! Upon arrival at the inn, we were warmly greeted by Daniel (the innkeeper), who showed us over to the front veranda for a glass of wine and platter of delicious cheeses and olives. Daniel was extremely kind and friendly, and we felt instantly comfortable there. The inn overlooks the Napa Valley, and we sat admiring the gorgeous view of the vineyards for quite a bit before venturing up to our suite. It was hard to peel us away!

Once upstairs, we were in awe. The room was absolutely incredible....very tastefully decorated and inviting. We stayed in the upstairs suite, which has all the amenities one could ever imagine in a luxury accomodation: Romantic wood-burning fireplace, wrap-around deck with cozy sitting areas overlooking the valley, large and comfortable living area, flat-screen tvs with surround sound throughout the suite, heated floors in the master bathroom, outdoor shower, guest bathroom, comfy robes and slippers, fully stocked complimentary mini bar, plush king-size bed that feels like sleeping on a cloud....the list goes on! You name it, they have it.

Throughout our stay there, we felt like we were the only guests at the property....the privacy is hard to beat. We cat-napped at the pool in the early evening, and made our way back down to the hot tub after an excellent dinner at nearby Bouchon. In the morning, we were greeted with delicious mufins from Bouchon Bakery, coffee and orange juice in our room while deciding what we would order for our second and third breakfast course. Yes, you heard it right....a three course breakfast on our own private deck to start off our day. We had a hard time making our way back downstairs to check out. Everything was perfection.

I could ramble on and on about our stay at the Poetry Inn, but to sum it up: By far the most wonderful place we have ever stayed! Thank you, Daniel, for the amazing weekend away. We are sure to return!

My wonderful boyfriend took me here for my birthday this weekend and of all the places that we've been too, this is hands down the absolute best place we've ever stayed at.

5 Stars for the Inntakers and service.
5 Stars for the cleanliness of the facilities.
5 Stars for the spectacular views.
5 Stars for every single aspect you can imagine.

There is not one negative thing I can say about Poetry Inn.  The experience was rejuvenating.  From the moment you drive up the hill and arrive, you're greeted by the Inntaker with sparkling wine, cheese and crackers and the spectacular view.  The minute we sat down on the balcony, sparkling wine in hand, we had to pause and take a moment to breathe and take it all in.  It was serene.

We stayed in the Emily Dickenson room.  Beautiful!  Everything was so luxurious!  From the gigantic king sized bed to the heated floors throughout the bath area to the out door shower.  UGH!!  We literally, did not want to leave the room!

The Inntakers really make this place special.  Lena and Daniel are genuinely nice people, they took care of every single thing that we could possibly need and more!  They were always one step ahead of anything you could possibly need.

For breakfast, we had the option to eat out in the lobby balcony or in our room.  We opted the room.  We stepped out for dinner and when we got back there was a table ready for us right in front of the balcony for our breakfast.  I couldn't wait for breakfast!

Morning comes and we were brought coffee and pastries from Bouchon as well as the New York times.  A few minutes later, they brought a bowl of perfectly ripened fruit as well as melons wrapped with delicious preciutto.  We were just amazed at how much food was being brought out.  The main meals of the morning were chunks of corned beef with bell peppers and potatos and cornmeal pancakes with blueberries.  AMAZING!  The day two's breakfast was equally amzaing.  French toast with fresh berries and bacon and scrambled eggs with sauteed mushrooms, roasted tomato, bacon and sausage.

I can't wait to come back to the Poetry Inn.  It's definitely a hidden gem and I'm glad we found it!

After a fantastic weekend, we were supposed to head home on Sunday late afternoon.

We were wine tasting at Cliff Lede and saw them advertising this place on a flat screen computer monitor.  We asked about it and was told that it's gated and not really open to the public.  However, given that it's Sunday afternoon, it might not be busy and  we might be able to take a tour if we call ahead.

After calling, Chris - the Innkeeper, invited us up.  He showed us around the place, which is absolutely magnificent with a gorgeous view of the Napa Valley.  The place used to be a Bed-and-Breakfast but has been renovated into something much more exclusive and high-end.  It only has five rooms, with two being suites.  Each room is perfectly furnished, with a balcony that looks into the valley.

After telling Chris that we will be back one of these days, we got in the car to drive home.  And then he turned to me and said "hey, why don't we spend the night here..."  I got out of the car, walked back into the hotel and got us the Robert Frost suite.

    - Huge balcony to view the sunset
    - Huge comfortable bed
    - Huge sunken tub
    - Outdoor shower
    - Hammock in the back, right in the sun
    - Wood-burning fireplace
    - CD stereo system
    - iPod stereo system
I can go on and on.  The biggest selling point is the view.  WOW.

Next morning, we were treated to a three course breakfast.  Given that the place only has five rooms, the personal attention is simply unmatched.

This place is for the rich and famous.  I pretended to be one for one night and will not forget that night for a long long time.

This place deserves all the stars in the world! Wow! The first review did a great job describing it...It is certainly for the rich and famous and is fully worth it. Heated bathroom floors, (yeah, a first one for me :) wrapping outdoor deck with breathtaking views of the valley, daybeds outside on the deck, fireplace, huge tub (yup, fits 2:) personable friendly services that attends to all your needs nonstop...5 rooms-very intimate ...Drinks outside on the padio, complemenatry sparkling wine & an awesome cheese plate.....Ahhh...I want to go back there....breaksfast is delicious, there is a chef onsite that cooks just for you and will make whatever you'd like as long as the ingredients are there....The breakfast menu changes everyday, but they made an omelette that I had the day before because I liked it so much....This place is poetic....and dreamy! Great spot!  Thank you Alex.

I will preface this by saying that I will forever be biased by this inn because this was where my fiance proposed to me and it could be a crapper and I would still think it's the most gorgeous place on earth. Fortunately, it IS gorgeous and fantastic, and worth every star (and then some). Nestled in the hills of the Stags Leap district, it makes for the most gorgeous view ever. I can't stop gushing about this place - even if I didn't get engaged here, the views and the service alone would be mindblowing.

Daniel (Hi Daniel! I hope you're reading this) the innkeeper, set everything up for my fiance, arranged everything, and even played along with the charade all the way up until my fiance proposed - I think it goes without saying that these innkeepers, including Chris, who we also met, are so kind and gracious, and genuinely just want you to have a great stay at their inn. They upgraded us into the Robert Louis Stevenson room and it was JUST PERFECT. I have no negative comments about this place.

They give you the most DELICIOUS breakfast that you can choose to have either in your room, on the balcony, or downstairs in the dining area, and it is worth every penny.

They have this really awesome outdoor shower area thats super serene, and you don't have to worry about any creepers lurking because obviously its high in the hills. I'm not sure what its really for, but all I know is that I ended up taking like 10 showers a day there just because I could. This is definitely worth staying for at least one night. Words could not describe how beautiful Poetry Inn is.

The one thing I also love about Poetry Inn is that it's really private; the only way to book a room isn't through the online reservation system, but through direct contact by email or phone. You could say it's old school or whatever, but I like to think that it's their way of being private and exclusive (in the best way possible). In some ways, I don't want the story to get out about this place because then it would get commercialized and booked all the time. There are only five rooms, and you can tell they treat each and every person with such warmth and genuine kindness that there's no way you can't love this place.

Another note, it's really pricey. Around 300-400/night, but worth every penny for special occasions. It's something definitely worth saving up for and you won't regret it.

Even if you don't end up staying here, I believe if you're tasting in the area they will let you go up and take a tour of the grounds and perhaps show you a few rooms if they're not occupied. They give you a glass of sparkling wine and you can just sit here and enjoy the FANTASTIC view!
