I've always been a fan of Plummer's. Best mass produced long lasting furniture you'll find. Don't waste your money at Ikea it may be cheap but it doesn't last and Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn...uhhhh have you seen that episode of friends about the apothecary table? At least Plummer's is less mainstream!

Attractive, sturdy and affordable furnishings, all learning towards the modern.  If you're in the market for new furniture that's a definite jump up from Ikea, but you're not quite ready for the $3500 dresser (hello, HD Buttercup), check Plummer's out.

Also, and this may only be helpful for those fellow Northern Californians out there, but Plummer's is the same company as Scandinavian Design.

E.g., you can check out some of Plummer's inventory by going to http://www.scandinavia... (don't forget the 's' after design).

I checked a few items at Plummer's against the prices as Scandinavian Designs and they were identical.  Happy shopping!

All other furniture stores can suck it; Plummers is my one and only.

I am a self-confessed furniture newbie but I have nothing but raves for this place, which, like Heathcliff Huxtable with his baby-having patients, walked me through my very first furniture-buying experience with skill and mastery.

Once Roomie and I had decided on a couch/chair/ottoman set, Israel the Employee of the Month (or at least he should be) helped us with pricing, fabric options, pillows, etc.  He was very patient, even when we made him stay late on a Saturday.

Best of all: The furniture came in 4 weeks. None of this 6-8 hogwash. (I'm not guaranteeing this for everyone - they still practice CYA and tell everyone 6-8 weeks.)

Even bester of all: The furniture came right on time, the delivery men were super fast and efficient, and it all looked great - exactly what I ordered.

I repeat: everyone else can suck it.

When I moved into my Loft, I needed a table. I needed a sideboard. I needed stools. Man, to be honest, I needed a lot of things -- and I needed them to look good in a unique space. I looked all over the place, but invariably found myself coming back to Plummers time after time for their consistently impressive selection. I found deliciously sleek, modern designs for prices that were -- literally -- unbeatable.

I really can't say enough about this place! The staff is incredibly helpful in arranging delivery, payment, as well as any sort of customization your desired piece might have available.

Plummers is highly recommended for people who want to furnish a space with visually dynamic, high-quality furniture -- without going into debt. Definitely worth a look, if you're ever in the Helms Center!

this store location is awesome. there are plenty of employees to talk to. there are tons of pieces on display. there are lots of potential deals to be made and their wood is excellent. i love looking at new furniture. it was nice to be able to work with someone in the store, formulating different ideas as to what would and would not look appropriate in our living room. there was a lot to consider. anyway, it was a lot of fun taking a look here. every time, a trip intended to last 20-30 minutes ends up into 2-3 hours. i love this place. it's got it all. also, parking is easy.

the prices are better, but the selection isn't as good as h.d. buttercup down the street. comparing this to other stores on venice in helms, i would say they have a large selection, and pretty classic looking items at good prices. i would recommend spending a day and walking into all of the furniture stores in a row. might as well, to get a better idea of what you are on the market for.
