Katrin is helping our very adorable, yet manners challenged, yellow lab puppy meet her potential! I was totally impressed by Katrin from the moment she called me back. She was timely, professional and spent plenty of time discussing our needs on the phone.
Our first meeting was amazing. First of all, I appreciated her immediate, positive interaction with our puppy, Gracie. Gracie is really my 14 year old daughter's dog, and Katrin did a great job of making sure my daughter was involved in the training and understood what she had to do to make sure Gracie was "getting" the right message. We spent the session working on "loose leash walking" (Gracie was totally running our walking sessions) and "attention barking." I am not exaggerating when I tell you that with Katrin's initial guidance, our puppy had MASTERED loose leash walking in 3 days. Her "pawing" and barking was almost extinguished after the first week.
I especially appreciate Katrin's clear, articulate communication style. She does a great job of explaining how the dog thinks, which helps us understand how to better help Gracie learn. One of my favorite things about the Plucky Puppy program is that training notes are emailed to us after the session. This helps keep everything clear and helps the family members who didn't attend the session understand the goals and procedures.
We will continue to use Katrin to help Gracie become as trained as she is adorable! The investment in Katrin is truly a lifetime investment in Gracie. A big thanks to the others who left positive feedback and guided me to Plucky Puppy! -

I can't say enough good things about Katrin. In my search for a reliable pet care provider to visit and walk my new puppy daily while I am at the office, I came across Plucky Puppy. I got so much more! Being new to dog ownership, I was doing my best to train my new puppy based on books I'd read but still had a lot of questions and needed some advice specific to my puppy's behavior. In my first meeting with Katrin she provided me with valuable tips on crate training, potty training, and pulling on leash. She is a wealth of information and my puppy loves her. In fact, I think the reason he no longer whines and barks the way he used to when I leave for work every day is because he knows Katrin will be by in a few hours! Plucky Puppy is top notch!

What stars these women are.They couldn't be more caring about dogs and more willing to help owners learn about their pets. Most important, Katrine and Co. taught me how to think like a dog, and presented some training methods, that although simple, I never would have dreamed of. They have helped Pinto drastically improve his behavior, and continue to help him overcome his fear- based aggression. I can not recommend them highly enough. Point Richmond

Plucky Puppy - my heroines!
I moved into temporary housing with my large, high energy hound mix, Lucy. Lucy was escaping from the yard and generally unhappy, even with 3 walks a day. Katrine and Linnea were available to both provide daily walks, and also to provide extra daycare, playtime with other dogs, and gave me advice on how to help Lucy cope with our dramatic change (downward) in lifestyle.
Plucky Puppy is run very professionally. I have worked with at least 5 dog walking/care companies in Oakland, and interviewed several others, and PP is right up there with the best of them. -

I left little Roo with Katrin for a month--the longest Roo's dad and I had ever been away from the little pup. Katrin trained him--he is FINALLY potty trained thanks to her hard work. She was wonderfully communicative, and has continued to email me tips, and just to check in on Roo's progress. I trusted her completely with our beloved little guy, and she proved entirely worthy of that trust. She really loves dogs, and it shows.

Katrin took care of my little Dachshund mix, Obi, for about a week. I was very nervous because he is very attached to us and has never stayed with anyone else since we adopted him about a year ago. She took the time to set up a meeting so that Obi could get familiar with her and her own dog. He was very shy at first but Katrin was so patient and loving that within a day or two Obi felt right at home and got a new best friend in her dog Stella. It gave us so much peace of mind to know that he was being cared for so well and having a great time while we were gone.
