11 reviews for Planned Parenthood Of New York City
- as comfortable as I was with my last gyno (who I had been seeing since the tender age of 17), Carol Bues is my new doctor of choice
- bedside manners of both the nurses and doctors were fantastic although the clerical staff left something to be desired
- in and out in 2 hours with an appointment, test result waiting times included, I'm sold
If you want to know what it feels like to be in a women's penitentiary, by all means make an appointment and endure the rude treatment and long lines. If the experience does not make you a law-abiding citizen, then the outside protesters throwing crap at you will.
Oh Planned Parenthood, thank god for you.
If you've read any of my other reviews, then you should be well aware that I would make an awful, horrible, possibly criminally-bad parent (several times over).
Thank you Planned Parenthood for continuing to assist in the cleanup of the mess that my life often devolves into.
This place is genius!
There should be a Planned Parenthood on every major street corner in every major city.
Ru486 should be available to teenage girls in junior high and high schools all around this over populated country. Less unwanted babies ( future criminals ) would be born; public schools would no longer need to put desks in the hallways.
We could all sleep better at night thanks to the great American heroine Margaret Sanger!
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Thank you, Dr. Heather Goodchild. I didn't think I would ever trust a medical professional again before I saw you. Best pap smear ever.
I can't recommend Planned Parenthood enough. If you're looking for a doctor who will listen to you, go here. Compassion, kindness, warmth. I'm so happy I went here.
5 stars for this place still standing tall in ChristoFascist Murkkka.
-1 star for some of the questionable stuff that goes on here, mainly in a financial capacity. Like the friend who came here for free birth control all through high school, only to be billed for all of it once she hit 18. I once called to find out how much a routine Well Woman exam would cost sans health insurance, only to find out, without being asked for my income info, that they wanted to charge me almost $200. Oh, and apparently it's their policy not to give out condoms or any of the other "complimentary" goodies without an appointment. Not so "complimentary" then, are they?
I think a lot of this stuff has to do with the fact that they have volunteers working there, and can easily be rectified by asking to talk to a supervisor. But it has to be said. Be very careful about finding out CORRECT costs, policies, etc before you schedule anything.
Oh, and also, it would be REALLY REALLY BAD if RU486 were available free to teenage girls. Because it's a dangerous chemical abortifacient, available by prescription only and administered in a doctor's office for VERY GOOD REASONS.
Tori is probably referring to the Morning After Pill / Plan B, which is not by any means the same thing as RU486 and does not cause abortions at all. It's just an ultra-powerful concentrated birth control pill that does what the normal pill does -- prevent you from ovulating and thus having an egg there to meet up with the sperm. It's basically an "ooops, do over!" pill. Not an abortion. It's available over the counter in New York State, and should totally be handed out free to anyone who wants it.
I have always loved you Planned Parenthood, for the bastion of safety and reassurance in figuring out how all this plumbing works without being ashamed of ourselves and making me feel comfortable. checkups here are the best because I request women which is a must. Would you go to a mechanic who never drove a car? The bedside manner here is awesome, and I've been supporting these guys for decades. Thank God for Planned Parenthood!
when I first started my job I had to wait 3 months before I had health insurance...Thank you planned parenthood for making sure I'm not making any babies!
Like any clinic though make sure you have time to spare...you'll need it.
Exercise your right to have control of your own body.
Support those who don't have medical coverage by donating for clinical services.
Thank you, Margaret Sanger, for the right to birth control, sexual health info, and the right to choose.
i luvv planned parenthood for what they stand, but the employees are just like any other health clinic in ny...overworked/rude employees who will give you the run around and the time spent just to see a doctor there was just ridiculous...
