Grabbed a smoothie from Planet Smoothie this morning. I figured anything has to be better than the sad excuse of articial concoction I had last week at Shanaberries. It was definitely better, but not great. It tasted pretty good and was, for lack of a better word, smoother than Shanaberries. They had a better selection, and they were grouped according to type, such as weight loss, multi vitamin, hangover, etc. I had the hangover over, which was strawberries, bananas, yogurt and anti-stress blast. It was pretty good, but the fruit wasn't fresh. Anyone know any good smoothie joints that are actually healthy, and use fresh fruit?
There's tons to choose from. They have a cafe menu now too with sandwiches, etc. Breakfast smoothies, weight-loss or after you work out types of smoothies, kids smoothies, hangover smoothies- the list goes on and on. I tried the Road Runner for the fun name and because it had 'energy' in it. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, orange juice, & a booster blast. It was pretty good- maybe because it was over 100 degrees out. But it hit the spot for me... although I don't really like chain quick-joints like this, its true that it just doesn't seem as fresh.
We grabbed a couple of smoothies here yesterday. I ordered the twigs and berries, the bf got grape ape. It cost about $9.50 for both, we ordered the smallest size.
You have a choice of a variety of powders to add - for weight loss, energy, hang over, etc.
The smoothies were ok - I don't believe they use fresh fruit in them and they had a weird granular taste - like a powder that hadn't completely been dissolved. They were filling though.
